In this video me a couple friends embark on an overland expedition to find an old gold mine. This trip came with its own challenges, disappointing moments and lots of bushwhacking but what we found at the end of the road was more than worth our efforts. Our goal for the trip is to make it to the old and abandoned national forest campground and locate the old gold mine to climb in and explore. Denis Casebier signed my copy of the Mojave Road. What a great guy. Our Billy Holcomb chapter of E Clampus Vitus had him as a guest speaker at his campground/compound Geoffs Schoolhouse on Landfair Road in the East Mojave before he passed away. We put up a plaque.
No way! That’s so rad. When was the plaque put up? I was just there at Goffs a couple months back.

Only been shooting with a professional camera since May 2023. This place is definitely awesome need to go back thanks again for watching and taking the time to leave such great comments.I think 10k by May is possible and 20k by December.

We did the Mohave Road in March of 2022 with some friends, it was a great time and we didn't encounter any difficult sections until the end with a deep water crossing that we weren't expecting and some sand dunes that caused us to keep moving to keep from bogging down. We did the road from east to west so the water crossing was over in Afton canyon and the deep sand was west of Zzyzx. I assume you will be coming in from the west to the east so you'll encounter those minor obstacles at the start of the trail.
Hey we did the trail east to west. Currently working on editing those videos. They’ll be released in March 2024.💪🏼

heya, I've been spending a lot of time out in the mojave preserve the last month or so. dunno if you guys are open for additional trucks joining, but regardless would be fun to collaborate on places. I'm in a silverado. I don't have an electric toaster though :) but everything else is kinda the same standard. I'll bring my ice maker.
