It’s really disappointing to see Rockstar shutting down mods, especially when these mods are made out of love for the games and the community. Mods have kept games like GTA alive for years, giving fans new ways to enjoy them. Instead of shutting them down, it would be amazing if Rockstar embraced the creativity and passion of modders. This is a huge loss for gamers and the GTA fanbase.
Why do Rockstar's care about fans, they are still earning from GTA Online, Why would they need to give fans what they want? remaking or allowing modders other games of rockstar really affects the players of GTA Online as they will stop playing and giving money to rockstar, this is the main reason why rockstar stops modders for fixing their other games because there piggy cash cow live service GTA Online is making money
Meanwhile EA (hated by everyone) is fine with NFS Underground 2 being remade on UE5. That remake uses OG UG2 assets such as the open world. Rockstar fans have a weird relationship with Rockstar Games. They will criticise (justified) Rockstar Games for shutting down mods that fans love and have poured hours into making them. But as soon as a game like RDR2 or GTA 6 drops, they will forget everything. Rockstar Games fans have some kind of Stockholm syndrome. Some Rockstar fans will go as far as belittling the efforts competitors put into their games in an irrelevant comment section. We know that Rockstar Games puts insane amount of effort into their new games (employees work well over 12 hours a day with no weekends during crunch), but that doesn't mean the competitors put zero effort into their games. Rockstar Games internally calling competitors' products second tier games nowadays only adds fuel to the fire. Rockstar Games now has a monopoly over open world urban crime games thanks to them selling virtual experiences (virtual LA, virtual NYC, virtual wild west, etc) mixed with pop culture such as well known movie/TV show moments rather than just a videogame. Some of my favourite videogames are made by Rockstar Games, but the hours I put into them pale in comparison to my favourite non Rockstar games.
Rockstar is overrated. Especially modern Rockstar, at least classic Rockstar could keep their mouths shut, and make fun games with solid stories, and writing. Now it's just the negative attitude against customer base, with Take2's hubris and greed in charge now.
In my personal experience, that's just the gaming community in general. Not that long ago there was a huge outcry about Blizzard, first with a stroke of bad games, then with official investigation about terrible things happening inside the company. Seemed like half of gaming internet was crying how "Blizzard- bad", "Boycott Blizzard!!!" etc. Then Diablo 4 released a few months later and it's a best seller. And all those influencers who were just screaming "Blizzard BAD" were now making content on that game.
@Ayymoss I didn't even buy GTA4 or GTA5. Piracy is the only way of playing their games for me. Last game of theirs that i legitimately bought was SA which was years ago. I don't respect any company that doesn't respect its players. I hope that gives you some light for my perspective.
@@Ayymoss Fastfood tastes good, doesent mean the things behind that are also good. Rockstar do make great games. But how they developed into an unsympathetic company is way to funny. The way they've been acting for a long time, it feels like they're a company from the GTA universe.
I pirated every single GTA I've played, I got GTA V for free on epic, and I will pirate GTA6 when it comes out. Rockstar is one of many companies that doesn't deserve a single dime out of my pocket.
Rockstar doesn't deserve the love and loyalty of their fans I have even lost hope in GTA 6 it's going to be a live service trash and they will abandon the single player after a few months and focus on milking GTA Online 2 for 10-15 years
I think most of the anger should be directed towards Take-Two, they have a really strong stance on intellectual property. I'm guessing Rockstar Games has some input here and there but ultimately the decisions are made by Take-Two.
This is so stupid, a big loss for everyone. They left Red Dead Online in miserable conditions, they shat on their legacy with the "definitive edition" of the GTA trilogy and they keep going against very talented modders. Mods are the only reason I still play San Andreas. I'm not even hyped for GTA 6, they're not getting any of my money with this stupid behaviour.

Rockstar is gone to utter garbage, but... I don't see why playing Liberty City in inferior gameplay and physics is even a thing lol. GTA IV mechanics is still unbeatable by a mile. We need LS with IV mechanics rather than the opposite
Mods give new life to old video games. When the devs have long abandoned these games modders literally revive the playerbase and if the publishers are savvy enough they can easily capitalize on it by promoting them to get more sales.
Modders need to learn not to touch rockstar games. Your time is more valuable than that. If your SO beats you every day maybe break up with them? Instead of giving them your time and resources.
Agreed. They should invest their time finishing unfinished projects of Ubisoft instead, like Watch Dogs 1. Ubisoft are kinda chill compared to Take-Two.
Vice City Nextgen Edition will most likely still be released on time. Apart from blocking the channel, Take-Two has nothing else to do, since Revolution Team are in the Russian Federation. Take-Two and Rockstar left Russia after February 24, 2022, respectively, they have no legal power left there

I've already given up years ago and am creating my own GTA-like with full modding support. I'm tired of working on something that the company doesn't give value and could at any moment take down my project. I wanted to implement AI conversation with NPCs in GTA SA (because I also wanted on my game), until they took down a mod like that in GTA V, it was the last straw for me.
Not only the company but the community itself is much more toxic today than it used to be, these were the two main reasons why I left the GTA modding community (even though I still work a little).
@@JuniorDjjrMixModsCan't believe you're here, even the modding community, from SA to V are also toxic. Online and even FiveM and SAMP community are also toxic too
The Rockstar Modding Cycle: 1. Modders announce an upcoming mod for a Rockstar game way too early before it releases. 2. Fans overhype the announcement of the mod all over social media. 3. Rockstar/T2I notices it and takes it down. 4. Fans and YTers (rightfully) get mad at R*/T2I for taking it down. 5. All news about the mod dies down until another mod comes and gets announced way too early just like the previous one. 6. Repeat.
Idek why modders even try anymore. I understand the passion, but everyone knows deep down it’ll be taken down in no time. Total waste of their time and hard work. Activision does the same thing, that sick COD mod that was gonna revive classic COD without the childish nonsense, they took it down before it even saw release. I think this is why people still love Garry’s Mod. It’s the only game where the community can make practically anything they want without worry. Although Nintendo did go after them not long ago. Licensing ruins everything.
FWIW- Bethesda told the Skyblivion team that it was fine as long as they didn't use ANY of their assets. Skyblivion is recreating the whole thing from scratch. Oh- and you do need to own Oblivion too to run the mod because it gets the audio/dialog from the original game (the only Oblivion assets used).
Yep, it's the same deal for Capital Wasteland for Fallout 4 and Fallout 4: New Vegas. But R* couldn't care less, I remember they've shutdown mod that adds Miami to San Andreas which DIDN'T HAD any assets from any GTA game.
About VC:NE, devs are in Russia so they can risk it there, but as T2 killed even the mod that requires buying GTA4, for me they can release a standalone version at this point. T2 forces us to play the defective editions which are not even made by R*

With the current policy of the stupid company Cockstar (there is no other name for them today), there is no longer any desire to engage in modding and generally make any corrections to their old, beloved projects. This is just a slap in the face to the most loyal fans. Personally, I'm not going to buy GTA6. I have no desire to sponsor a toad with a toilet smile named Strauss Zelnik. It seems that modding will now be completely separated from GTA.
Cockstar is who they are indeed the original members are all gone old Rockstar are dead and gone forever new ones are Cockstar who sue and file lawsuits against everyone like spoiled brats.
i don't understand how a company, no matter how big or succesful cannot see that the modders are just making them a huge big favor, and actually by doing what they are doing they are just damaging their names.

Rockstar is in a perpetual PTSD state from Hot Coffee, a mistake that began from higher ups when THEY DESIGNED the idea of a S3X minigame in GTA San Andreas. Their mistake, they left the code out, the animations out, and because one modder (in bad faith or otherwise) unlocked that, they developed this permanent hatred for PC. Bad ports, ports that only release 15 years later, modding take-downs that become shitty remakes (TDE), delayed PC releases (despite PC being THE BIGGEST platform) which all other companies can do ON TIME. It's SO stupid. Whoever insists upon this idea that PC is the enemy platform (inside Rockstar) really needs to re-evaluate what the hell they have been doing through these years. It's not Leslie, not Lazlow, not Dan... Who is left? Is it Sam being petty? Aaron G.? The people at San Diego? Someone else? Whoever. This person has no clue really but they seem to be perfectly content with splitting a very dedicated and passionate portion of the fanbase. Also, the only reason they bought FiveM was to have control and reap the benefit$. Thanks for covering this TJGM!
sam houser once said that gta 4 will release on pc as a quality port. he can go f him self despite it being him or not taking down mods. that was one of the biggest lies in gaming history.
The main reason why they care about consoles first and PC second is because console hardware tends to be fixed for the entirety of the generation whereas PC hardware is constantly improving so "scope creep" happens way too easily. Plus piracy has always been an issue for them (trust me, almost everyone outside North America, Europe and Australia used cracked and pirated copies of GTA).
I thing hot coffee isn't Rockstar's mistake. Problem is rather people who are too eager to accuse Rockstar. If content is only accessible via mods then in my eyes it should be enough to wash company clean from responsibility. Some people just like to accuse everyone but themselves. If you don't want your kid to play certain mods at too young age, it's your responsibility as a parent to check what mods your kid is downloading. It's not the fault of modders nor Rockstar.
Rockstar KNOWS their games are SHIT, made by lazy, incompetent devs and tech illiterate Indians that abuses AI, so they know modders can easily do better. They do not want any single alternative. They want to force their garbage woke games no matter what.
So here's the thing. All the modders who got their hard work shut down, get your vpn's, point to russia, new gtaforums accounts, and just yolo push it live. Upload the mod on yandex or something and that's it. Yandex will the take2 to shove it and shove it well
@@falenone They can just leak it through bit torrent and wash their hands of any responsibility. Take 2 actually has VERY little power in these situations IF the modders just used Bit Torrent. Its insane that they've been able to cruise basically on the sales of V and Shark Cards for so long. RDR2 was a hit, but GTA V is the best selling game of all time behind Minecraft. Remember though, Michael Jackson had the best selling *album* of all time, and by the end of his life the mf was flat broke. The good will is running out for Rockstar. GTA:O can't be milked forever, and if VI isn't perfect, they're not gonna be able to replicate that, and the money will start to burn.

Ubisoft never takes down mods for their games but they shut down their own game which is The Crew without refunds to its consumers. Games has more values than mods and Rockstar being just behind Ubisoft if enough
The mod had copyrighted music in it from GTA4. The modders could have easily gotten sued by the music industry. If they’d taken the music out, it probably still would have gotten taken down by R* anyway though for allowing GTA5 players to use GTA4 content without having an installed copy of GTA4. This isn’t the worst thing R* has done; at least there were some reasons this time. When they took down GTA trilogy mods to stop their rerelease of the trilogy from looking bad by comparison THAT was just greed. This time’s not as bad as before.
I've come to the conclusion that it never was about IP Infringement, hurting the sales, and this kind of bs. SAMP is still up and running, with servers being active or even new ones made up until this day. There are mods out there that port characters like CJ and Tommy in other non-Rockstar video games, and Rockstar isn't saying anything. The GTA:LC mod came around when the 3D era was still relevant, and they've decided to give it the boot 15 years later, when both III and VC were already going in their 20s. Slightly after, they've announced and released the Definitive Edition. ...And let's not talk about mods like RealGTA 3 or those Vice City deluxe/fast and furious modpacks with licensed cars and all that. The internet wasn't as big as it is now, but it was big enough for Rockstar to see. It's about competition. Rockstar hates competition. They're pretty much the only relevant studio in this niche, metaphorically the only heroin dealer in the city of open-world crime games, that's why they take this kind of measures. At this point, I wonder how they didn't patent the whole steally-wheely concept, as they cannot stand the fact that modders make products that are better than the official Rockstar products, and in most cases, they do it pro-bono. If something bigger and/or better than GTA would come, I think Rockstar would've been in Ubisoft's situation.
@joltrading debatable. The PC ports of (most) Rockstar games were fixed by modders. The fan-made remastering projects are net superior to the OFFICIAL REMASTER (we're going with the Trilogy on this one, cause IV and EFLC don't have any remasters that we know about). There are projects out there that remaster the Trilogy to the extent that they don't look like they were made on an early-mid 2000's engine, along with ragdoll implementation, volumetric clouds, bullet holes and whatever features you would normally expect in the HD Universe games. ...And let's not go down the rabbit hole of mods that add new stories or new content (interiors, clothes, game mechanics) such as Forelli Redemption, Sindacco Chronicles, LC '01, Reviced, SA Stories, etc. Of course, you cannot compare what some guys do in their spare time for free with what a multi-billion dollar company with nearly 6000 employees and nearly a dozen global studios can achieve, but in comparison, I can see why Rockstar would be pissy at the thought.

The modders need to stop blabbing about the mods and just release. It's been like this for years and many other devs do this. Just finish and release, I get they wanna get the hype train rolling but it's not a good idea to do that with R * .. I hate them and Nintendo for that kinda stuff ...
If Rockstar isn't planning on porting GTA IV to modern consoles, the modders were not in the wrong morally. It's R's property legally sure, but I don't see how a mod made by Randoms on the internet affects them. Heck their cease and desists are the reason why pirating and emulation exist.
Excuse for my english, but.. I actually was not really care about porting a GTA4 map to 5, but shutting this mod, mod which includes thousands hours and 6 years of work was really rat move. But shutting down a GTA VC on GTA4 engine bring me real hate to this rat office called "C**cks**ck Games", mod i waited for so long, mod, that makes sense to me..
Speaking of Skyblivion, they would be shutted down as well, if they would use TESIV assets. Bethesda asked them NOT to use TESIV assets for Skyblivion, because it violates their copyright, and the team recreates Cyrodiil from zero. Black Mesa is a better example. Valve not only approved the unofficial remake, but also allowed it on Steam. It was created from scratch as well, though.
I mean in both cases it needed to be remade from scratch because it was the sole point both Oblivion, Morrowind and Half life 1 have very aged art assets. BMS also did use Half life 2 and some of its assets. Oblivion obviously to lesser extend, but still not exactly beingon par with Skyrim
The exact same thing happens in the Cod community. Activision shut down H2M, a mod for Call of Duty Modern Warfare Remastered. It basically turned the game into a remastered version of Modern Warfare 2. You wanna know what Activision did a day before the mod was set to release? They sent the guys at H2M a cease and desist. Although the project was revived, it’s still so annoying that they did that. I just don’t understand why companies think people modding their old titles will affect sales for their new games (especially with GTA VI on the horizon, everyone is gonna buy that game no matter what).
Hearing how Rockstar is poorly handling mods and constantly upsetting the modding community makes me have even bigger respect for Larian Studios, who made Baldur's Gate 3. I haven't played it myself, but my partner absolutely loves the game and told me all about how Larian actually respects the modding community and even works with them to have mods be supported for BG3. It's such a nice breath of fresh air.
Wished Rockstar took care of GTA titles the same way Valve did to the Half-Life series by giving major updates without messing up the aesthetics. Instead, we got Definitive Edition which is pretty much Rockstar's Half-Life: Source.
Take a look at Valve, csgo was originally a Half-Life mod now its one of Valves biggest revenue streams due to skins. Portal and Left 4 Dead were originally random projects from other people. Valve picked up these projects and hired the people who made them, also Portal on xbox has exclusive content thats actually remakes of the portal flashgame maps......that was originally made by the community
Scs software is another company modders friendly, so much modder friendly that it has not only a dedicated folder 📁 called “mod” in the save game folder of the game, but it even has a dedicated menu to mods in their games, euro truck and American truck simulator
We all are feeling bad for the situation because GTA was always a cool sandbox. And it allowed people to completely reimagine their games whatever way they wished. This made GTA Community a major modding place. The community didn't stop even with RAGE, finding new ways to overhaul their favourite games. And now it's so painful that so much potential is getting thrown away. The community was (and still is) helping people wait for new installments. The community is what helped GTA to become and stay popular. And now it's facing not so bright future 😢. Someone maybe doesn't understand why people are worried about all of this, like some games doesn't even have mods. But GTAs history includes mods since almost the start. And we're so used to that
Mod developers should sue down Rockstar for "Cyberbullying" and Hostile acts. Sinse any of these mods can easily be defended under "Fair Use" guidelines.
0:53 - I don't agree with that the music included with the mod was going to bring them legal issues. They don't own the music and therefore it's not up to them to sue. The original music authors should sue this mod directly, not through Rockstar.
I was actually watching the latest trailer for GTA Vice City next gen right when it was first uploaded I even messaged the trailer to my dad since him and I both love GTA vice city the most. And of course I go back to try to rewatch the trailer only to find out “don’t give two fucks interactive” took down the video. At first I thought maybe it was only the video but the entire channel ffs man
1:35 - I would say it rather boosts the sales. If modders bring older GTA into newer GTA engine, I might consider buying that newer GTA just so that I could legally play the old GTA in new GTA engine.
Kinda, yeah. Projects like this all exist in a precarious, sort of metastable state, but Nintendo has been shockingly permissive with Mario, Zelda, and now Star Fox getting PC ports based on decomps. No game assets are being distributed in their case, but that didn't stop Rockstar from kneecapping the GTA3 and Vice City decomps!
Rockstar's Downfall is comming it's no doubt. With their hate on modders who are thier devoted fans of thier games? Good mods EXTEND the life of a game. Ain't no conspiracy theorist but after watching 3/4 of this video. A conclusion came to me. They are easily frustrated at someone doing a better job THEN THEM. What the devoted fans put together ? Makes their games look better. So in their passive aggressive behavior? They come down hard and they shut down mods. Angered that there is TALENT out side the company and it makes them look bad. Questioning the reason to keep them employed. Hence why brutal attacks on mods.
Man, I was worried about the Vice City Next Gen guys showing it off too early. Rockstar sucks, but these guys need to wait to promote and release their mods until they're ready.
I have a feeling that Rockstar is still listening to Grove Street Games, who is known for its awful GTA remasters with bugs, it never stop listening to GSG isn't it? They need serious help and i had enough of them, Rockstar lied about charging this whole time.
Whoever makes these decisions at Rockstar or whoever is in charge, purely from a business perspective, is making a serious gamble on the company's future. The already risky plan of having everything ride on the release of GTA VI, with the undoubtably monumental cost of developing such a vast and time-consuming project and constantly distancing themselves from the fanbase by shutting down passion projects made by the community, only creates further unnecessary possibilities of a massive failure. "Don't bite the hand that feeds you."
You know how R* had problems with voice actors, that were real actors, they would say. You can't work with them they had too big ego. Well R* is becoming just that to their fans, they are gaining to of a big ego. Rockstar do have their rules about modding: Question: Are PC Single-Player Mods Allowed? Answer: Rockstar Games believes in reasonable fan creativity and wants creators to showcase their passion for our games. After discussions with Take-Two, Take-Two has agreed that it generally will not take legal action against third-party projects involving Rockstar’s PC games that are single-player, non-commercial, and respect the intellectual property (IP) rights of third parties. This does not apply to (i) multiplayer or online services; (ii) tools, files, libraries, or functions that could be used to impact multiplayer or online services, or (iii) use or importation of other IP (including other Rockstar IP) in the project; or (iv) making new games, stories, missions, or maps. This is not a license, and it does not constitute endorsement, approval, or authorization of any third-party project. Take-Two reserves the right to object to any third-party project, or to revise, revoke and/or withdraw this statement at any time in their own discretion. This statement does not constitute a waiver of any rights that Take-Two may have with respect to third-party projects. So, don't be surprised.
Many modders also become professional game developers and make a living doing so. Disrespecting them like Rockstar does is a huge sin and outright embarrassing. I wouldn't even play older games nowadays if it weren't for modders, mappers, source port programmers, server hosters, etc. I know this may sound odd, but Microsoft is another company that is cool with this idea. There are Halo fan games in development and Microsoft never shut one down. The reason is that those developers have to follow certain rules established by Microsoft. What Rockstar is missing here is transparency.
I have a theory that since GTA: VI is the 3rd entry in the HD universe, referencing GTA: SA, which not only is the 3rd entry in the 3D universe but also have a few missions taking place in Liberty city of the 3D universe, I can only guess that some missions within GTA: VI may take place in Liberty city of the HD universe.
Take Two/Rockstar completely lost my support when they they went on their mod kill frenzy just before releasing their garbage cash-grab remakes of III, VC, and SA. They'll never see another penny out of me at this point. The obvious solution would have been to _hire_ the teams making the mods and turn them into a team that makes DLC. But instead, they chose to try to crush any form of creativity and alienate their fanbase.

Even he said the F-word 😭
Why do Rockstar's care about fans, they are still earning from GTA Online,
Why would they need to give fans what they want?
remaking or allowing modders other games of rockstar really affects the players of GTA Online as they will stop playing and giving money to rockstar,
this is the main reason why rockstar stops modders for fixing their other games because there piggy cash cow live service GTA Online is making money
If EA is more consumer friendly, you are clearly doing something wrong as a company.
A shame the average R* fan has Stockholm Syndrome.
R* is truly evil. I've read multiple articles about its staff working more than 12 hours a day without weekend breaks🤦💔
They are assholes, but they make great games.
I hate this company with every fibre of my being.
I hope you carry this energy into the GTA 6 release. But we both know you're being performative.
@ea09 Then I don't think you should care for IP law when you clearly have no regard for their IP to begin with.
Rockstar doesn't deserve the love and loyalty of their fans
I have even lost hope in GTA 6 it's going to be a live service trash and they will abandon the single player after a few months and focus on milking GTA Online 2 for 10-15 years
I think most of the anger should be directed towards Take-Two, they have a really strong stance on intellectual property. I'm guessing Rockstar Games has some input here and there but ultimately the decisions are made by Take-Two.
@Convultus both are the same shit dude
This is so stupid, a big loss for everyone. They left Red Dead Online in miserable conditions, they shat on their legacy with the "definitive edition" of the GTA trilogy and they keep going against very talented modders. Mods are the only reason I still play San Andreas. I'm not even hyped for GTA 6, they're not getting any of my money with this stupid behaviour.
People will still play gta6 regardless if you change you mind or not, therefore people will just forget about this.

Modders are in an abusive relationship with rockstar games and refuse to leave
Agreed.

The Rockstar Modding Cycle:

Mods don't have woke propaganda and this is a problem for them.
Thanks for covering this TJGM!
they did end up removing hot coffee content entirely in rerelease, so i think its not catalyst for rockstars stance on modding
sam houser once said that gta 4 will release on pc as a quality port. he can go f him self despite it being him or not taking down mods. that was one of the biggest lies in gaming history.

Rockstar/TakeTwo deserves to be in the same position as Ubisoft right now.

Agreed, this is becoming exhausting getting fantastic community content ripped away from us, all because of the abuse of copyright laws.
Modders do not make better content than Rockstar let's be honest. It is just that Rockstar rarely releases anything
@joltrading debatable.
Community: We must insist in asking for you to allow fun to be had outside your predetermined ways.

It is good that companies like Bethesda or Valve allow modders to create large-scale modifications.

0:53 - I don't agree with that the music included with the mod was going to bring them legal issues. They don't own the music and therefore it's not up to them to sue. The original music authors should sue this mod directly, not through Rockstar.

Rockstar and TakeTwo are the wives of Nintendo.

Rockstar sucks, but these guys need to wait to promote and release their mods until they're ready.
gta 6 needs to die for them to rethink their corporate strategy
I have a feeling that Rockstar is still listening to Grove Street Games, who is known for its awful GTA remasters with bugs, it never stop listening to GSG isn't it? They need serious help and i had enough of them, Rockstar lied about charging this whole time.
Take two please disappear.
"Don't bite the hand that feeds you."
take 2
I won't buy gta6.
You know how R* had problems with voice actors, that were real actors, they would say. You can't work with them they had too big ego. Well R* is becoming just that to their fans, they are gaining to of a big ego. No matter how big actor you are, how big company, you need to stay with both legs on ground, as we saw with R* and voice actors it doesn't end well. Too bad for such talented company.
If ever rockstars were a gigachad like valve..
Not really, valve right now didn't accept counter strike classic offensive on steam
valve started doing this shit too, the greed reavhes everyone
@@fazrieisa6654 not trying to dick riding valve though man, but they're literally the chillest company out there in history, maybe there are good reasons why this "classic offensive" is not allowed, cs2 is a free competitive game after, all, so it would make sense for them to stricted it on steam.
I deep down love GTA series, but i deep down hate Rockstar at the same time
They cant take down Vice City Nextgen edition, these guys are russian, T2 and Rockstar cant do shit to them. So it should released tomorrow, probably somewhere on VK and TG. And they add russian dub that was finished today but other team. Cant stop winning basically.
О, и ты здесь !
That's too bad that this company being so ridiculous to shut this amazing mod down. I'm lucky I downloaded this mod before it got taken down.
Rockstar do have their rules about modding:
Question: Are PC Single-Player Mods Allowed?
So, don't be surprised.
this is what worries me about gta 6. because whats so special in that game that t2 is doing takedowns for actual passion.
Any thories on why Rockstar is doing this, besides money?
I don't think there's any other reason. Rockstar is a company, after all.
The only plausible explanation could be a GTA IV Remaster but even that aims at earning money, so basically the theory is money.
@ When i said money i only meant greed, or getting it in a way to upsets the fans.
I'm sure we understood what you meant :)
Both companies needs a change in leadership, fast!
Oy vey shut it down!!
Why blaming rockstar when its all take two's stupid greed
Take Two/Rockstar completely lost my support when they they went on their mod kill frenzy just before releasing their garbage cash-grab remakes of III, VC, and SA. They'll never see another penny out of me at this point.
The obvious solution would have been to _hire_ the teams making the mods and turn them into a team that makes DLC. But instead, they chose to try to crush any form of creativity and alienate their fanbase.
Yeah loss of GTA Underground was awful....
Thank you for being real. You're the first youtuber who just told it straight & didn't buy into all of this "friendly takedown" garbage. While everyone else defends a mega-corporation you tell it how it is. Again, thank you. Its refreshing.
I don't understand why these modders don't shadowdrop the mods they developed. That way the mods could still be taken down but many people would already have them downloaded and could reupload them on the internet.
Thats actually exactly what the gta 5 liberty city mod team did
