This all is rediculous. I am completely flat chested and this summer went to a plastic surgeon. I wanted big breast and she told me that the max size form is D. She said that if I want bigger she wouldn't do it. All respect for people like her who think about your well being not only about the money. I am sure that plastic surgeons make enough money from people who realy have physical issues so they should say no to people with mental problems.
It isn't fair to blame the Doctor. Plastic surgery is elective. People choose to do it. Heidi is the only person who made this decision. Do I think it was incredibly unwise? Of course. Unnecessary? Yes. But it was her decision.
Im not so sure if she blames the doctor or uses him as a scapegoat for her off beat humor. heidi made the choice and paid the price. as another post said, its his job.
I love Bonnie Hunt. I think it's great she causes awareness on this issue, from the stand point that its very SAD. She's not making fun of Heidi, she genuinely feels scared for the millions of little girls who are looking up to her and will question their own God given appearances. So sad!
The sad truth is that doctors, surgeons and etc. are in a business and they are very motivated by money!! Like big corporate CEO's money talks!! Just because the patient wanted all those procedures it doesnt mean that it was ethical for the doctor to do!!! Shame on our society!!!!
At least he's being honest, he's just saying what everyone knows, "Hollywood is really based off of the body and face". It's not his job to judge, it's his job to perform what he has studied for years. In a less extreme scale, aren't braces cosmetic too? Bonnie, you're trying not to, but you are judging.

@missChocoverest Putting in plastic? Haha, ONE of the procedures Heidi got done was a breast augmentation, the rest was minor procedures (i.e. botox, fat grafting, slight eyebrow lift etc).
@adidasmylife I heard that he actually did do charity work. One of the things he did was remove gang related tatooes for free. So he wasn't a bad person, and didn't deserve to die.

If the patient is mentally competent and says that he/ she is seeking services for no one but him or her self then there is no reason for the doctor not to go ahead with it.
i know its his job and i understand that he wouldnt say no after all he chose that proffesion knowing exactly what people would ask him so of course he isnt going to say no. but i still dont think that gets in the way of human compassion to suggest therapy. and i think plastic surgeons should have some sort of therapy attached with it for before and after the surgery.after all changing your appearance must be very traumatic.so yeh its his job but therapy should in my opinion always be suggested.

The problem is not with the surgeon, it's with the self esteem that this girl has or doesn't have! She has lost her authenticity and natural beauty! These people live in a different world than most, when are we going to learn that beauty means different things to different people, but if someone wants you to change this drastically for a job, or to love you, the problem is with them, not you!!!

Part of being a responsible doctor is being responsible for the well being of his/her patient. Elective surgery is elective and is of course the choice of the patient. However, just to say yes to every procedure to satisfy their every whim does not seem like a very responsible decision at all.
Not that I'm saying anything groundbreaking that hasn't already been stated before, but it's far too easy to saddle this all on the surgeon, as if he's some sort of Hollywood bogeyman, who swoops in & robs a girl of her innocence and makes her perceive herself as imperfect, just so he can pocket a big check and get 15 minutes of fame. In reality, not only did Heidi Montag choose to do this, it was likely a pre-meditated career choice. She did this to remain relevant & stay in the spotlight.
Just cause everyone prefers Heidi to how she used to doesn't mean we can judge her. It's her body she's not harming anyone but herself with the risks and I'm sure she doesn't give a fuck what you all think she should have done. As for the Dr, it's his job he does what she pays him to do. Drinking alcohol, smoking cigs, and eating fast food isn't good for you either but I'm sure you guys still do what you want
