I love your videos but please remember that the majority of Americans are not economically in a place where they can realize their dreams. Sometimes just paying the mortgage is a win. However, we enjoy living vicariously through your experiences. We applaud your success as a self made success story.
Accidenly found your video, want to thank you for your story I was inspired. I have been recovering from multiple major surgeries . That force me to retire from a great career to early. Now trying to find happiness and meaning to my new chapter of life. I'm grateful to be in a good (not great) but better than lots of people in our age group financially . Spent most of my working year dreaming of that comfortable boat, cruising south in winter season and maybe north in summer. I have several types of boats though out the year, I have 26foot sailboat ( by the way Wife hates this one)now been waiting for doctor to ok some short trips on icw. Hopefully this may/June. Mow here's my question I have the means to buy a very nice used cruiser ( not like your boat) but nice enough for me. She just now after making her watch your videos about your story I am showing her that boat Sunday....how do I help her see that life style is what We need. Including the health factors as well. Lots of other factors as well, but living your best life. Thanks for listening, your message is being understood.
Thanks for your kind words! It took me about 5 years to convince my wife this was a good thing. She now is fine with it! I wouldn’t say she loves it…but she’s good with it. You can’t chNge someone’s heart but you can change their mind with patience, persistence and loyalty. Good luck and thanks for watching!
You are getting us so excited for our trip in 4 weeks! Great job editing - but then again, that's what you do for a living!! Thanks for all of your help!
Great video - interesting, great quality and will put together. This is my first view of one of your videos - just discovered. We love the water too - many Mexico and other Caribbean trips and we live on a lake in central South Carolina. Thanks for your effort!
Great videos of your trip-our family visited many of the same spots on a Catamaran charter just before Covid…what a great experience…thanks for sharing yours!!!
Great video! We aren't making it to BVI this year (need some more on water training before we can charter a monohull sailboat). Till then will live vicariously through you all. Thanks for sharing!
How are you making out with your Aquila? How long now? and getting systems in order? Like what you said, Boating is for enjoyment. SO enjoy it!!! They're going to be hick-ups owning any boat so don't think it's not going to happen. Knowing this there will be the less stress on you and your crew aka. your family and friends.
Just found you a couple of weeks ago looking for an Aquila 54 and a closer look. Saw the walk thru from Nauti Styles of yours boat....hard to miss with those 4 external speakers. Thought it was for sale......must have been before it was yours as you are too excited about her. . Fun episodes so far. Off to BVI-22 #2.✨ 🌊 💨🛥🏝👙🌞
Awesome video! We were just down there a few weeks ago! Thank you for all of your other great videos I used them to plan our trip, which was our first time bareboating a sailboat and first time to BVI. Too bad we weren’t there at the same time I would have loved to buy you a drink as a thank you. We started our first day at Norman and Jaime the bartender at Willy T’s told us about the old Willy dive site. So we changed our plans a bit and went diving there the next day. It’s pretty amazing, they set it up with funny scenes throughout. Anyway, love this video though, I really need to upgrade my GoPro haha these shots are incredible! Y’all have a blast, we’ll be waiting for future vids!
Great information and fun at the same time!!! Thank you! Inspired us to plan a charter to the BVI’s with MM - I know weather is warm all the time, but is there a better time of the year to go when weather / storms are less of a risk? Perhaps outside of hurricane season for sure…? Also - I am a life long boater in Clearwater, FL area…but on smaller, twin engine vessels (30’) - looking into training you mentioned in another video to be able to captain myself. Trying to find courses in my area. Thanks.
Al I thought it was interesting that you went in Jan. What’s the water and air temp like? We were booked and had to cancel for June 2020 due to the big C but we are rebooking for this June. Leaning toward marinemax but 5 staterooms on a Marinemax power cat is like 7k more than the 5 stateroom sail cat from moorings. What are your thoughts on BVI at different times of year and let me know any thoughts on my pricing dilemma. A 55ish catamaran has always been my retirement plan and we are 3 to 5 years out. Just waiting on my son to graduate HS and the biz sale.
Anytime of the year is great in the BVI. Remember it’s 1200 miles south of Miami…so the water is always warm. Our temps were in the low 80s all week. Perfect.
Love your videos. Thanks I’m going in April with four couples on a Moorings 54’ pc. It will be my 4th trip Why did you decide to go clockwise this time? I’m thinking of hitting BEYC first and go counter clockwise. Thanks!
Absolutely love your videos! Can't wait for our trip at the end of the month. Where did you get your hat and gaiter? Trying to keep my hubbie for having more skin lopped off of his head;)
Norman is great. It's always our first stop. Going back in June. I had to laugh though when you said "you can do this ". You and I maybe. But there's a TON of people who can't afford a $1000 a day vacation. Especially a MarineMax level of cost, which is more like a $12,000 week. Great fun, but not for everyone. Not every viewer could, or should, do this.
Congrats on the 545. We just received hull 14 and are doing our first run with her in April. Raul and MarineMax have been great to work with. We have bareboated the 44 there before. How did you find bareboating the 54, as we were thinking about doing a captain the first time out with her?
Congrats on 14! 15, which is me, is expected to land mid April. don't need a captain if you already have one...the 54 is so easy to handle. I'm really impressed and happy I chose it. thanks for watching!!
Thank you for all of the education as it really helped our trips and our decisions! Grew up around boats, but watched many of your vids prior to previous bareboats and jumping into ownership. I told Raul this was all your fault ;) Heading there in a few weeks for our first on our own "Aqualibrium". Got a captain for that trip just to chill. I'll tell Raul to share my contact info with you off line if I can ever be helpful. Hope to see you there!
Great to meet you #2….I’m #15! I fly a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone while I’m underway. Just put the boat in auto and I fly the drone from the captains seat. I always have a co-captain with me to look out for any obvious issues. I also color correct my footage in editing. That’s the real reason it looks so good. It’s an art I’ve learned over the years. Thanks for watching!!!
How I miss you're videos. Been back to the old ones that I hadn't seen.
The BVI is magical. 100%. Probably my favorite Caribbean place. I think I've been 5 times now - 2 yacht charters and a few cruises. The best!!!
The best!

Appreciate it and thanks for watching!
Im impressed with your video contents! And the shots of that beautiful places plus editing. Keep it up! 👍

Awesome boat! How long have you had that vessel for?

Indeed! Thanks for stopping by. Hope you had a memorable trip.
Leaving February 2nd for our adventure in the BVI. Your videos have been great 👍🍷⛵

good question...first, change of pace...second, it landed me at Leverick Bay for Friday night BBQ...thanks for watching!!!!
When you get your boat, you keeping it down there or keeping in it CA?
Florida!
Absolutely love your videos! Can't wait for our trip at the end of the month. Where did you get your hat and gaiter? Trying to keep my hubbie for having more skin lopped off of his head;)
The gators I just got at West Marine...and I think some sporting goods store. The hat is a Columbia! The best. Thanks for watching!!!!

Al did you do the charter ownership program?
I did not. I will base my boat in Florida. Thanks for watching!
@@thewanderinghillbilly what part? I intend to be based in Clearwater. I’m guessing you will be on the east side for getting to Bahamas.
Whats the Max amount of people that the boat can sleep?
That was too short! Loved every second of the video.
Alan, love the videos. We own hull #2 (1st 54 for charter in the BVI fleet). How do you get the aerial shots while underway. They're beautiful.
Great to meet you #2….I’m #15! I fly a DJI Mavic Pro 2 drone while I’m underway. Just put the boat in auto and I fly the drone from the captains seat. How fast is your Aquila 54? My Leopard 50 sailing cat does about 8 knots with the engines pushed up.
Well I have 960 horses….so about 28 knots….
@@thewanderinghillbilly thanks
4:36 no mask no service seems to be just for show!
I thought you had to be naked to jump off the willy T!
😷💉🤪
Please make videos much longer
