Oh sweet, I never heard of Maquis. I just looked up pictures of it and it looks super interesting, now I want to try it! Love worker placement and games designed to be solo from the beginning make me assume they'll be solid.
Your straight-to-the-point style is really refreshing. Love this video, keep up the good work 👍 My usual recommendations for solo players: - For Beginners: Warp's Edge, Under Falling Skies - For Intermediate: Aeon's End, Obsession - For Experts: Mage Knight, Trismegistus
Thanks, I do try to keep these moving. Talking without rambling/wasting people's time. Great suggestions, some games I've never played before too! Thanks for checking out the video.
Wow man. Absolutely loved this video. Just board game talk. No nonsense. and the way you explain things. Seems like an honest video and not just “another top 10 video to make content for the sake of it”. This channel is Gold. I’m glad I found it! Now in regards of the games. I Love Viticulture. And I’ve been always in the fence with Spirit Island, because I don’t love coops games. I’ve tried solo games but never really clicked with them….until I tried Expeditions (sequel to scythe). Wow man. I absolutely love this game solo and made love solo Boardgaming. Now I’m scraping UA-cam in order to find solo games recommendations. Anyway. I highly recommend you to try Expeditions, I believe you will love it. Great price point for what the offers. IMO. Great channel man. Keep the good work on 💪
Thanks for the encouragement. As normal with newer UA-cam channels it's sometimes a lot of time/effort without always a lot of results, so it's nice to hear when someone enjoys it. I do like this style top 10s being very much to the point. I do some top 10s with other people and those have more fun dialogue and stuff, but I like keeping my solo ones really trimmed up. I haven't tried Expeditions yet, but I do think I'd like it. I enjoy pretty much everything Stonemaier puts out. Thanks for the recommendation!
I've never played, just looked it up. It looks cool. I love how the title and cover so quickly describe what the game is. I want to try now. Does it feel more like a fighter/DnD style game, or euro? Thanks for the rec.
Nemos War songs interesting. Do you think it has good mechanisms too? I completely agree though, it's so nice when you have a goal to accomplish, but just a point total.
These are great games to try solo if I ever get tired of Final Girl, but there’s so much packed into final girl in an hour playtime max that I’m always just bringing it to the table. Also check out cascadia solo. The scenarios are challenging and fun!
I've wanted to give Final Girl a play at some point. I've heard so many positive things about. It seems like everyone who plays it loves it. Thanks for the recommendations!
Oh that game looks awesome! I remember when I first saw a shot of the board and all the different moving parts seemed fascinating. What do you liked about it? Is it more highly strategic, or more on the discovery/interesting mechanisms side of things?
Good list, I want to try out Spirit Island at one point. I also recommend Parks for solo. Very nice to look at, good medium mental crunch, and the Ranger 'player' does a really good job with the way they incorporated it. I have yet to get in the highest tier for scoring. Another game I play is Marvel Champions the card game. Can be played up to 4 or solo. A bit expensive to buy everything up to date with releases. I usually play two handed hero, as playing true solo with one hero can be pretty swingy in difficulty. I just recently got the expansion for Euphoria, which I've heard the Automata does a good job as well, that I want to try out for solo play against two of the Automata.
Thanks for the recommendations! I do really like Parks solo. It does a great job of presenting an interesting puzzle to solve but keeping things light and moving. I didn't know there was an added solo mode to Euphoria. Let me know if you like it!
Thanks! I appreciate it. I try to make my opinions of what I love a blend of now and what has been a long-term game for me. That way I avoid only recent games of the list (and then matching everyone else who is excited about the new stuff too).
My favorites are: 1- Mage knight...2- Asl solitaire...3- Iron Helm....4- Final Girl.... 5- Spirit Island.... 6- Feudum....7 The Hunters (GMT)....8-Imperium classics....9-Marvel Champions LCG....10- Too many bones
Great list. What do you like about Iron Helm? I've never played before. It's one of those games on my radar but I haven't looked up too much about it yet.
Can't argue with you. I've actually started to lengthen image time on the screen. When I edit it feels like forever, but final product it goes too fast. More pictures are good too. Sometimes I have to work with old photos because I don't have the game with me when filming, so I'm stuck with what I have (and I don't want to steal images online without permission). But yes, I need to prioritize getting more high quality photos into the video, saves a lot of explaining. Thanks for watching!
Great video. One of my favorites of all time is Maquis! Great little solo game.

Nice tip on the 7 wonders duel solo
Hope you enjoy it. If you know the base game I'd say the solo mode takes only a couple of minutes to get up and running. Very nice!
I recommend checking out the solo mode of Set A Watch, super fun game imo.

My favorite solo games are those that have a bit of story or an end goal like Nemo's War and Warp's Edge rather than a point goal.

Parks is a really great game, I'm playing with the expansion and having fun.
Oh, I really like Parks as well. I just personally haven't played it enough to make the list. I could see it becoming a go-to game though.
my best solo board game is weather machine.

A nice list some that are not on other peoples videos.

More images of the games would be better IMO.
