Trying to develop a Homestead? What I'd do different!

- Having land to rely on sounds great! BUT it's a lot of work and very costly! In time, energy and money. Some lessons I have learned when buying land for a future homestead. Mistakes and challenges. However, all of this does not change the fact that we need to prepare to provide for our loved ones and become more self sustaining using the land for our survival resources. The question remains, will we be ready in time? Thanks for visiting me here @TheLovelyPlace

Thank you. We did the same thing pretty much, except that we found a place with a house and some cattle fencing already. Then 2020 happened and we fast forwarded a lot of projects. But today, the area is growing so fast that soon my cows will be looking into someone tiny backyard and BBQ. Time to move to a remote place and start over (at 50+). Will follow your adventures along the way. Thank you!
@@scome98 God bless y’all and best wishes in all things!

Thank you for that valuable information. From the southeast (NC); absolutely correct about a large homestead and the physical toll on one to two people. Back in the day, most families here in NC had "many" young'uns because it was the labor to keep the farm going. My great aunt had 21 young uns; half born at the house. America is so dependent on the government for survival; we have to get back to being self-dependent. Government has complete control over our energy, food, and water source...NOT GOOD. Homesteading is very hard work, but that is the best way to live.
You’re in a beautiful part of the country. Yep you are right they knew what they were doing back in the day. This country will have to get back to that kind of living but my concern is that it will be forced upon us. Those who have never thought of these things will sadly suffer badly. If we are blessed the Lord will come back for His people before things go too far. We need to be prepared for His return and prepared if He does not return soon. In any case I know He is in control. God bless you and thanks for dropping in.
Amen and great talk Sean! I will be 60 in January, plus I am an amputee. So, things are a challenge. But God! He is faithful and He is still in charge. Place our faith and trust in Him. We MUST do our part, and He will honor us if we seek Him first and His righteousness. Glad to see you back Sean, God bless my friend!
@@martyh299 Marty, wow! I am so blessed to hear your words of wisdom. God is so good to allow His followers to find one another. Yes, He is in charge my friend. He gave us His word of instructions, The Bible, and we are so blessed when we tap directly into it. His promises are for anyone who believes. Jesus paid the debt for us and He is in full control. My prayer for you and all of those who love Him is that you will be drawn so close to Him that you will feel the power of His love now and forever. God bless you my friend.
@@TheLovelyPlace Sean, over the last 6 months I have dropped my UA-cam subscriptions from around 20 to now I just have 3 or 4, which includes this channel. I have done away almost completely from social media, and I can tell you, it will change your altitude with Him and your attitude! The only channels I watch now are those that are positive and uplifting. Too close to going Home, don’t need to be dragged down! Love you brother!
Love you too brother! I’m blessed to know you.
Thing is that if you are really doing it you can't let up, you have to go 24/7/365, 10, 12, 16 hours a day depending on how much you want out of it, and it's never like the stock market, if you're not doing it it doesn't get done . There are easier ways to make a living that actually pay in the end . The only way farmers retire is to pass it on , or sellout !
That’s right! If you’re not working from the time, you wake up till the time you must rest, then you’re not doing all you can. However, we do need rest. I have burned myself out many times to the point of exhaustion and I lose an entire day, but that’s after many many days of nonstop work.
Ohio, 72. Working on starting a homestead. No water or electric on the property ( i inherited) . Going be a huge challenge and will probably drain the bank. But its my dream. Rainwater, solar, reducing wants and living with what i need.
That’s what I’m talking about! Enjoy the journey. I’m excited for you and I’m tired just thinking about it. Haha.
When God wants you to move he will make you uncomfortable. I've seen so much from you and Mrs lovely in the past few years I believe you got this covered. Thanks for the videos. Please keep it up.
@@Stumpyjim64 Yes sir! I agree. God is definitely in control my brother. God bless y’all every day!
Worrying and all things are a choice. Focus small, do small, and eventually it all adds up.
There’s no doubt about it. Worrying and being afraid is just a waste of time. However, a good healthy dose of the right kind of fear can move a lot of mountains!
Good video, I enjoy your perspective, I'm 60, I'm a owner operator of a truck, I bought 40 acres in North Missouri, built 60x40 shop with an apartment in one end, lived in Texas my whole life, we love the weather , and the country life, takes lots money, but we're carving out a new life, big dreams, but I'm appreciating every day God is giving me,and no we don't have deep pockets ,we've had some adversity, but Jesus is bigger than my problems. 😊
Amen brother! Jesus is our everything! God bless you and your BIG DREAMS!
Outside of finances, is there a reason that you wouldn't drill a well?
You nailed it. Strictly financial. I wish I had mentioned that as an option. Thanks for bringing that up. Maybe someday.
