    Thank you for the video. I prefer my Garrett AT Max, but my GoFind gets more random use because of the portability. Glad to finally know how to pinpoint properly.

    My mom got the 40 and wants me to teach her to us it. I've been messing around with it some and watching videos. A cool feature it has that I haven't heard anyone mention or even seen on Minelab's website is that it has a overload signal. That's going to help her not dig those large shallow iron targets and cans. I agree with you about it not being a all day machine, but she can't hunt for long periods of time anyway. Great how to video. I'm going to have her watch it too.

      Thanks bud. Goodluck I hope she finds a lot with it.. Overload honestly haven't hit a huge target yet with it.. Thanks for pointing it out..

      honestly would probably go with the Garrett for a first time detector. It will react to targets like most of the other machines. That way it will be an easier transition when moving up.. just my 2 cents

    • @Gonehunting73
      @Gonehunting73  8 років тому +1

      Just to be honest, it would be very poor.. The frequency is too low (wrong) for gold and I don't think it would be sensitive enough to pick up tiny gold.. I could hook you up with gold dedicated machine if needed.. Gimme a call tomorrow and I can go over some proper machines... 580-775-5970

      Bryan Allez i wouldnt think the Go-find could handle saltwater interference. If you moved up from the wet to the dry sand you might be able to hunt. If you take it on dry land and are still getting interference, then you might contact Minelab.

    I am looking for a detector for a 10 year old grandson. What do you think about the age appropriateness of this item?

    • @Gonehunting73
      @Gonehunting73  8 років тому

      His determination will answer that.. If you think he will hunt with it every day... I wouldn't recommend it.. I don't consider it a daily hunter.. It's nice and compact, but with that portability comes less durability, especially in the arm extension... I know of other machines that would probably be rugged enough for a 10 yr old and is definitely proven that given the proper area can find good targets.

    Let's see, hmm, buyers of this machine SHOULD know how to read. The little manual and the numerous MINELAB videos explain in detail the operation, functions, and locating features of these great little machines. Like ANY other detector, this machine must be in motion in order for the detection features to work. PINPOINTING requires touching the pinpoint pad first of all, then MOVING the machine across the target area, as with ANY other detector. You CANNOT miss the loud sound when you are over the target. NO biggy, fast and easy and this machine has one of the fastest recovery sweep detection of any machine on the market. It is not supposed to be a 705, CTX3030, ect.,ect.. It is a turn and go have fun machine.
