Yes, the face value of the tiles in CLOUD add up to 8. But CLOUD at that position in 1:05 really scores 20, not 8.

This is a very poorly explained video on how to play Scrabble for several reasons:
1. Nearly every play is misscored. For example, CLOUD in that position scores 20 and not 7, ACHIEVE scores 82, and (ZOO)M scores 30.
2. The video states that the second player must connect to a tile that the 1st player made. This isn't true; the next player must connect to ANY tile on the board.
3. The board image is missing several DLS squares.
4. Plays that are parallel to other words, or hook onto other words, are allowed and the video doesn't mention that.
5. The letter closest to "A" traditionally goes first (this is a minor issue since any random process could work).
6. The player can pass their turn, instead of playing or exchanging.
