Newfoundland accents are much closer to some flavours of Irish than most of Canada. As someone in Toronto, I can barely tell the difference between particularly strong small town Newfie accents and Irish. That said, some of these are more like the Irish that isn't as similar.

Really great sounding cast - I love it and I’m very excited BUT (sorry) they need to work on the accent. Most of them sound Irish.
Some of these accents are so off! They’re supposed to be Canadian! Not Irish 😭

Newfoundland English sounds a lot more like an old form of Irish than it does Canadian.
