His official music video of this song really illustrates what the words mean to him (you can find it on his channel). In its description, he mentions his diagnosis as a child with Type I Diabetes:
Like many after diagnoses Tom felt the challenge of being different, but in that very same year he discovered music, an escapism which later became a talent and passion. Tom actually recalled not only remembering and relating to Radiohead's version of 'Creep', when first released but actually later as a teacher used the song to empower and educated a number of children who expressed to him in feeling that same sense of not fitting in for different reasons.
This video is a story Tom wanted to tell, through this harrowing yet beautiful song, that to lead the inspiration to his powerful and stunning AGT All Stars final performance.
Despite the focus around diabetes, the video as a whole hopes to send the wider message.. For whatever reason, 'If you feel like you don't belong... You Do'.
It is not weird that Simon did stand up with the sound of Silence. Tom was a year before that at the British got talent and Simon had hopes that Tom would win but he didn't. Then Tom entered the AGT and I think Simon has made that happen. . Then again a year later there was an animated singing cat named Noodle at the AGT and the voice was done by Tom. At the final reveal performance Tom explained his career and that Simon was producing his album. Look up that Noodle reveal video, Tom is belting it all out!
My favorite is the song I who has nothing he did in the main final of BGT. Such a clear voice with that!

He really changed the ending! But Justin crum first sung this son slowed down but ends it much like original. Brian Justin crum might be as good
He really does have a terrific voice. However, I think he made a mistake doing Creep. Brian Justin Crum had done it so very well before. Bearing in mind Tom is British and Brian is from the USA, and what demographic was probably voting. I think he should have done a different song. But that's just my opinion.
Ed Obrien from Radioheaf stated Tom Balls Creep was likely better than the original!! Pretty powerful Statement!!!
@@zeldamonigan4154yes, his voice is amazing. I have his CD. Only said that Brian Justin Crumb had done it on AGT a few years before and blew everyone away. Thought that he could have done a different song to showcase his voice, that's all.
