    Possibly the last good looking BMW! And much of what Jon said holds true for my Stage 1 mk2 Audi TT. A lot of fun for what they cost.

    I picked mine up three weeks ago, after lusting after one for four years. San Marino blue, ceramics, carbon interior, reverse cam, GTS gearbox upgrade and upgraded speaker system. Your review is spot on, these cars are a rare thing of savage beauty. Still getting used to no storage, bananas start up noise and all the attention the car gets. Love cleaning her, and I really do love your advice on detailing. Nice work.

    Glad I'm not the only one with the same views of the HUD. I've had both F10 and now F90 M5 and never use it. I'm not sure what all the fuss about it is. If it was such a game changer most manufacturers would adopt it. Love yours and how spotless inside real credit to you.

    Amazing car, and couldn't be owned by a more worthy 'normal' bloke !
    I can't be the only one thinking why have carbon bonnet and plastic tailgate, to save weight, and then have bloody heated leather seats though !!!
    Still, fabulous car, and very capable.

    • @serenahansen2394
      @serenahansen2394 2 роки тому +1

      Weight saving on parts that don't affect the comfort, effectively dead weight. The carbon bonnet will also offset the weight of the big turbo engine at the front; likewise the carbon roof taking weight from the top of the car to lower the centre of gravity.
      Heating elements and leather vs cloth seats probably only add a few kg in total, but the panels likely save 15-20kg vs aluminium ones. The heavy bits in factory seats are the airbags and steel frame.

    • @DjNikGnashers
      @DjNikGnashers 2 роки тому +1

      @@serenahansen2394 The carbon fibre bonnet does not offset the weight of the engine.
      A standard M4 bonnet weighs about 10KG, and a carbon fibre bonnet weighs about 7KG, so you're saving 3KG on a part which costs about £3000.
      Do you know how much an M4 engine weighs ?
      I don't, but I bet it's well over 100KG.
      The carbon fibre roof probably saves 5KG but yes as you point out, it is saving weight at the very top of the car which will improve handling/roll, almost the best place to save weight after the wheels.
      Heated leather seats are very heavy things, but seeing as the CS is supposed to be the next best thing to a GTS I am disappointed they didn't fit lightweight carbon fibre seats. because that would have saved about 25KG per seat, which is a MUCH bigger saving than a fancy bonnet and roof panel.
      I work in the motor trade by the way, just in case you were thinking of educating me ;-))

    I bought an F80 M3 Comp about a year ago after I’ve been wanting an M car ever since I first saw the E46 M3 when I was younger - not quite the same as the CS, but agree with most of your findings and for me some of the creatures comforts of the non-CS just make it a little bit easier to live with as a daily personally - we’re a similar’ish age and totally agree with your “at twenty I’d have been dead comment” even now with more experience I have to be respectful to avoid potential ‘interesting outcomes’ of pushing it too far! Glad to see you’re loving the car and I think all of the F8x range take some beating in terms of the quality/performance/value combination - they are also gorgeous to keep looking nice so keep the detailing enthusiast in me happy just as much as the driving enthusiast - license losing, gas gussler maybe, but I’m loving mine while I can and will be really sad to see it go when the time comes to change cars next

      M4 ZCP never cost as little as 60K. Ceramics are awesome on the track but everyday use not so much, I.e. squealing and horrendous in the wet. Yes I own one and it’s a fine DD. I absolutely miss the door pockets plus arm rest. The tiny drawer above the knee cap gets plenty of use😂

    Hello from the Canary Islands !! My question has nothing to do with the video, but if you can help me, surely someone else too. Did you get moisture in the headlights of your BMWs? According to the owner's manual it is normal, I believe that the LEDs do not carry with the ambient humidity. I have had several BMWs, with LEDs as well, and in this last M2C F87 I get moisture with the 4 raindrops that fall here. Thanks in advance and I'll understand if you don't answer me

      @@saiiiiiii1 Thanks so much. Yes, the owner's manual quotes it; but it hurts too much; Except for recurring drops of water, a halo of humidity forms on both headlights just as it then goes away. The dealer tells me this is normal, and I have asked in writing for the warranty. It hurts a lot in an expensive and heavily mined car. Thanks and regards.
