Possibly the last good looking BMW! And much of what Jon said holds true for my Stage 1 mk2 Audi TT. A lot of fun for what they cost.
I picked mine up three weeks ago, after lusting after one for four years. San Marino blue, ceramics, carbon interior, reverse cam, GTS gearbox upgrade and upgraded speaker system. Your review is spot on, these cars are a rare thing of savage beauty. Still getting used to no storage, bananas start up noise and all the attention the car gets. Love cleaning her, and I really do love your advice on detailing. Nice work.
They are very cool Joel enjoy m8
@@ForensicDetailing Thank you John, appreciate the reply. The day I collected my m140i they had one in pride of place in BMW Sunderland, and I fell in love with it. It was a scene straight out of Wayne's World with the guitar. Oh yes, she will be mine.
Jon you tracked in tons of dirt and grime in that grass parking area :) get stuck in
Absolutely lovely ride Jon, so happy for your dream coming true! 👌🏻🤩👍🏻
love it, I have a 128ti and that puts a massive smile on my face, I can only imagine how much fun your car is.
Stunning motor Jon, looking at the grin on your chops it looks like a proper drivers/petrol heads car
Great video, great car, love it Jon!
About time, been waiting for this video!
Great Vlog! Thank you for sharing.
Great video man, hope to see much more on the M4 CS
Awesome car ❤. I've been waiting for a look at this beauty 👍🏼
Glad I'm not the only one with the same views of the HUD. I've had both F10 and now F90 M5 and never use it. I'm not sure what all the fuss about it is. If it was such a game changer most manufacturers would adopt it. Love yours and how spotless inside real credit to you.
Love the colour- great car. Congratulations!
That is one beautiful car, it’s performance is breathtaking too, well done John, enjoy it❤️.
Amazing car, and couldn't be owned by a more worthy 'normal' bloke !
I can't be the only one thinking why have carbon bonnet and plastic tailgate, to save weight, and then have bloody heated leather seats though !!!
Still, fabulous car, and very capable.
Weight saving on parts that don't affect the comfort, effectively dead weight. The carbon bonnet will also offset the weight of the big turbo engine at the front; likewise the carbon roof taking weight from the top of the car to lower the centre of gravity.
Heating elements and leather vs cloth seats probably only add a few kg in total, but the panels likely save 15-20kg vs aluminium ones. The heavy bits in factory seats are the airbags and steel frame.
@@serenahansen2394 The carbon fibre bonnet does not offset the weight of the engine.
A standard M4 bonnet weighs about 10KG, and a carbon fibre bonnet weighs about 7KG, so you're saving 3KG on a part which costs about £3000.
Do you know how much an M4 engine weighs ?
I don't, but I bet it's well over 100KG.
The carbon fibre roof probably saves 5KG but yes as you point out, it is saving weight at the very top of the car which will improve handling/roll, almost the best place to save weight after the wheels.
Heated leather seats are very heavy things, but seeing as the CS is supposed to be the next best thing to a GTS I am disappointed they didn't fit lightweight carbon fibre seats. because that would have saved about 25KG per seat, which is a MUCH bigger saving than a fancy bonnet and roof panel.
I work in the motor trade by the way, just in case you were thinking of educating me ;-))
I bought an F80 M3 Comp about a year ago after I’ve been wanting an M car ever since I first saw the E46 M3 when I was younger - not quite the same as the CS, but agree with most of your findings and for me some of the creatures comforts of the non-CS just make it a little bit easier to live with as a daily personally - we’re a similar’ish age and totally agree with your “at twenty I’d have been dead comment” even now with more experience I have to be respectful to avoid potential ‘interesting outcomes’ of pushing it too far! Glad to see you’re loving the car and I think all of the F8x range take some beating in terms of the quality/performance/value combination - they are also gorgeous to keep looking nice so keep the detailing enthusiast in me happy just as much as the driving enthusiast - license losing, gas gussler maybe, but I’m loving mine while I can and will be really sad to see it go when the time comes to change cars next
I own M4CS and believe me... There is huge difference between this car and Competition when you look at driving dynamics.
Thanks for sharing your views on an impressive car Jon. Ref the ‘kangaroo’ effect, I feel your pain. Have found the same effect in my M2C, as you say it’s all about the commitment 😂. Cheers, Kevin.
I'm not a BMW fan, but this looks and sounds sweet.
Lovely car John, a bit too hardcore for me so I'd probably go for the normal M4 but none the less, what a car it is
Great review i have also bought one a week ago but the valveteonic motor is going to be changed so couple more weeks before getting to know the car but i feel like what you are saying is what ill be experiencing
Great review sir
Enjoy the car m8 they are raw and fun. Still loving mine.
@@ForensicDetailingthanks 👍🏻👍🏻
for that price brand new you are in 911 territory
This will be epic out on track mate!
M4 ZCP never cost as little as 60K. Ceramics are awesome on the track but everyday use not so much, I.e. squealing and horrendous in the wet. Yes I own one and it’s a fine DD. I absolutely miss the door pockets plus arm rest. The tiny drawer above the knee cap gets plenty of use😂
In terms of the jerkiness it might be worth checking you’ve got the latest iStep version, or maybe looking into some of the GTS software packages that can be applied by people like Zed Coding
Jon get a BMW M cap for yourself m8 ;) youve gotta be one of those guys :)
How weird, I just finished a 4 series lol, like an hour ago! Darker grey though
A car for enjoying in the summer, anywhere from April to October, on dry days. Not great in snow, so use the Golf if you need to venture out. A well deserved quality car for a true car enthusiast.
Inspector Clouseau eat your heart out😂🤣🤣
Any chance on a video on cleaning and maintaining Alcantara steering wheels and seats please John. Unless you’ve already done one and if you have, any chance of a link? TVM.
Will do dan
I just bloody cleaned the steering wheel haha, customer asked for it to be cleaned. I cleaned it like the roof lining. Damp cloth with autosmart brisk
Hello from the Canary Islands !! My question has nothing to do with the video, but if you can help me, surely someone else too. Did you get moisture in the headlights of your BMWs? According to the owner's manual it is normal, I believe that the LEDs do not carry with the ambient humidity. I have had several BMWs, with LEDs as well, and in this last M2C F87 I get moisture with the 4 raindrops that fall here. Thanks in advance and I'll understand if you don't answer me
Not seen any moisture on this one Paco.. which island are you on?
@@ForensicDetailing Thank you so much. The volcano is on the island of La Palma and I am on the island of Gran Canaria. Best regards. Great car !!
They're not completely sealed, so yes it's normal.
@@saiiiiiii1 Thanks so much. Yes, the owner's manual quotes it; but it hurts too much; Except for recurring drops of water, a halo of humidity forms on both headlights just as it then goes away. The dealer tells me this is normal, and I have asked in writing for the warranty. It hurts a lot in an expensive and heavily mined car. Thanks and regards.
Happy for you, you seem ecstatic
Hi John you've come up the car ladder in some style ...M4 CS l remember the first M3 In that individual blue paint colour you had what was the colour? name of a Race track in America? Your rear lights on the Cs are oled driven little oled plates l had similar tail lights on my 2021 TTS
I sold my TTS 2 months ago it was only 4 month's old so now l am waiting for my new RS3 saloon to arrive its going to painted Porsche Riviera blue Audi Exclusive paint with a eta of next September anyway l am really glad youtube has worked out great for you
laguna seca blue :) should of kept that car :(
My RS3 is my bucket list car lol happy motoring john
As we go into an electric future this car will be such a collectible asset mark my words
I've just bought M4CS after testing and comparing it with G82 M4 and I'm absolutely in love with this car. You can definitely feel this +200kg of G82. F82 is light, agile, brakes like crazy and looks like milion $. Thanks for review!
P. S. Sound system is not so bad but you have to give it some higher volume to enjoy and you have some speakers in doors.
Any tips how can I take care of alcantara?
G82 is ugly, heavy. It's fast because of the power and clever electronics... But like u say rear wheel drive, light, agressuve f82 Cs is better looking as well.
100% agree having something like this you need to be that type of person who likes to be kept on edge with a car.
Loved the Greta reference Jon😆
Exhaust rattle could be a broken valve flap / actuator. Relatively easy diy job …
As a Yank from across the pond - I've NEVER heard of the brakes referred to as "yankers!" Ohhh...that's a good one!🤣
Congratulations on your car sir. Drive, enjoy, respect. Now I'll leave you with a "Yank" cliché - "keep'er between the lines!"
Shine on you crazy diamond!
anchors :)
@@ForensicDetailing ohhhhh...lost in translation! Lol! Love the car - the legend of the BMW 3.0 straight six...
Mr. Jon, that is one sweet AUTOMOBILE! My dream car at the moment is a Nissan GTR in Bayside blue. I keep telling myself.....one day......one day........one day.......one day.
Hi mate, that was great, i love BMWs I’m running 335d drive tourer because we have 2 daughters at uni 🙈 else i would buy m3 tourer next year, anyway after. 14 months of treatment for cancer, last week my wife had tests and scans and they said all good go and enjoy your life, so that is what we are going to do, I’m trying to forget the passed 14 months but let me tell you its bloody hard and what I’m finding now is because we haven’t got the distractions of hospital doctors and nurses, I’m thinking about it more and it gets to me, yes I’m in the building trade and we are the rough tough type, but I’m not, and i ask everyday why us, anyway sorry to go on but I struggle to talk to anyone face to face about how i feel, great channel and if your ever up our way pop in for a coffee stay safe and enjoy life 🙏
Hey Andrew take courage to talk about things like this. I'm delighted your wife has beaten cancer. The last 14 months must have been very tough. Cars and detailing can be a good way to escape from the stress life can throw at us. Have a wonderful christmas. Give your wife a big hug. Sending you both lots of love.
Great video Jon. And like a lot who have already posted here, I’m really happy that you own something that brings joy to life. Great car and a great video to watch and enjoy. Till the next one.
As a P.S, as kids, when we were getting a little out of hand, my Dad would warn us by saying, “You guys are flirting with danger now”!😂😂😂 So, when you said living a little dangerously my mind immediately remembered my father’s words and literarily laughed out loud.
Your rather was wise thanks wayne
So that french wine seller had an Italian accent?
Lovely car mate. Congrats!
My f30 328i puts a smile on my face, I can only imagine what the m4cs would do!
Re that exhaust rattle, it could be something as simple as a loose exhaust valve clip. Couple of quid to fix.
No arm rest!!!! 😲
Such a cool car though.
Coolest car, and I like this guy
It would be great if you did 5 things you hate+love about the M4 Cs
i can do but its the 2 gear in sports + kangeroo if you dont go heavy footed. It really is an agressive car, so you cant really use the car on roads properly and it can be dangerous... thats the main thing. lack of manual is a real killer as well.
@@ForensicDetailing I guess that’s all the reason the car is that much more special ! Doesn’t make sense but it’s why they’re so limited and niche I guess
Is that a dogging hotspot?
🤣🤣🤣 do they have them in NZ as well then Phil?
Amazing car!! Jealous!!👍👍
Absolutely beautiful car, health to enjoy 👌👌👍
Greta type eco warrior……love it 😂😂😂
If it's bad must be faulty. You been doing some wrenching John
Dream car that!! I'd kill myself in it. Too much power!! 😉😂😂🚙
Waiting for a Infinity wax Turbo 6 video
The Greta line made me lol.
Nice finish to the video 👍
Good idea… is to remove the carbon ceramic brakes and replace with standard steel brakes and then when you come to sell the car you can put back on the carbon ceramics and get top dollar for sale price!! 👍🏼😂
I cannot lie.. That car is sex on wheels.
Probably still has better fuel milage than a Prius when doing 75 on the motorway :)
Pure drivers car 👍
I like the French accent
3rd
Many of us can't afford a car like that, nothing to do with being an eco warrior. What a silly thing to say.
Being responsible with one's finances and not wasting it on cars that depreciate is sense.
that goes without saying though doesnt it? no matter what you say in todays woke society someone will be offended by something. of course be sensible with your finances and dont waste it on cars if thats what you want to do... however for me and lo0ts of people, any money spent on your passions in life is not money wasted.
0:03, shuts the door by the frameless glass... yet claims to be a detailer. This fool is clueless.
