I'm sure Taurus didn't make the barrel too tight because that would/could be really bad but me not being a gunsmith not knowing the actual dimensions I'm curious about if the 9mm is any smaller because even just a little could lead to shortening the barrel life. I'm going to have to find out more because I like this revolver and have been thinking about going back to the 357/38 platform because even though I've had a lot of fun with the 44 mag for a long time I think it's best for me to go back and especially since several of these firearms now days can run multiple calibers. Sure looks nice. I enjoy my Judge and wouldn't mind having another Taurus. Thanks for the review.👍
I am not sure about the barrel wear but 9 mm dia size is 0.002 smaller than .357Mag that can and likely does cause accuracy to go down. Would be good if Stephen Bauer can test as objective as possible and share his findings because from what I see right now, only 1 person tested it and was not happy with it at all. He could hit the target at all with 9 mm and if this is the case, what is the point of this gun then? I mean I am talking about its 9mm capacity.
That's like the lever action riffle I want to buy. It shoots 357, and 38 They do sell kits for a shot gun that you can shoot different size bullets out of it but you only get one shot so you have to hit the target the first time.

It will work. I accidentally bought a box of .38 super and it fired flawlessly! Just do not recommend a steady diet of them! The .38 super is a hot round close to the .357 in power in a shorter case. Pressure issues could be a problem long term use. Swelling the cylinder chambers in a different area than it was designed for. Proceed with caution or just use what it was intended to fire originally! Mixing ammunition in firearms that they were not intended for is very dangerous and I do not recommend it! The differences in pressures and tolerances are widely known for causing dangerous effects!
I bet it would shoot 38 Super. You'd either have to have the 9mm cylinder bored out a little for headspacing, or have the 357 cylinder cut for moon clips
you'd probably split the case in the 9mm cylinder since 9mm is fatter than 38 Super. The super is also semi rimmed so you could probably fire it without clips in a 357, but I'm not sure why anyone would do that.
@@traumajock You can "Fire" many calibers in many, many different guns. That doesn't mean anything. In a 30-06 rifle, you can fire dozens of cartridges based on its case. It would be stupid though. You'd be much better off firing the Super in the 38 /357 cylinder, but again, I'm not sure why anyone would want to do that. The bullet diameter is different. This gun is just like any other 38/357 in terms of what it "could fire" in a SHTF situation. 9mm moon clips suck. I have a S&W 986 Performance model which is a 9mm revolver and not long after it I bought a BMT Mooner. It's like stripper clipping a moon clip but mechanical. I'd suggest checking them out.
.380? I don't know about that, it's not the same idea as .357 magnum & .38 special in the same cylinder, in the 9mm cylinder it has the shoulder stop to hold the 9mm in correct position (with or without the moon clip). I'll bet that a few loads of .380 thru it will start buildup on that 9mm shoulder area. Caliber wise, it's kind of the same idea as with the 357 / 38 same diameter, shorter case, but there's no shoulder to mess up with the shorter cartridge.

Technically they are the same caliber. They are different cartridges. 38 special, 357, 9mm, I think there would be a couple that preceded the special. 38 S&W, 38 Colt?
They could make one in 357 Maximum.
I would like one with a 4 inch barrel.
I believe the 38 S&W is .361 diameter. It was the first standard 38 revolver round before the development of the 38auto.
Ruger single action comes in 357,38spl with a 9mm cylinder al
As a comparison, what S&W frame size would this be?.tks.
I was deciding between S&W 686 plus .357. S&W is just a little too pricy and the Tracker is a little more versatile. Personal opinion of course.
@@StephenBauerHomestead would that be an L-frame then, fit to my hand ,is the most important factor. tks.,God Bless,K-frame size is best for me,own many brands, just using S&W as base for sizing.
BIG RESPECT
4:1 you can shoot .380ACP out of a 9mm no?
Yes. I am going to be shooting an educational video on how this works. Stay tuned. You might want to subscribe so you can get notified when this is released. Thx
Wood grips would look awesome. 👌
I agree, but I have only seen the only other stainless version.
Nice gun
Some say that you can also shoot 38 Super. I would not recommend it though.
Your heading says it shoots 4 calibers. What is the fourth?
Someone commented that is shoots .380, too. So I tried it and sure enough, it does. It's probably not the safest thing to do, but in a pinch it works.
If I recall correctly, the tracker is not available without the barrel porting. Saddens me cause the Tracker looks like a very nice piece of ordinance but with that muzzle brake system I couldn't shoot it and hit what I'm shooting at. I can take recoil and muzzle flip all day, but getting that blast & concussion in my eyes every time lead goes down range would have me flinching like a mad dog. On this I can speak from bitter experience.
Interesting. I've had one for two years and have never experienced that problem. It's one of the best revolvers that I've ever owned. Sorry that you have this issue with it.
Very interesting observation, thanks for sharing. I wonder how it behaves with different ammo.
That is really cool!
When your saying the revolver may go, then all your RIGHTS are already Gone
Very good video Sir.
Nice I looking for the one in 44mag/44 special
I have this and the 44 Tracker. Both are excellent revolvers.
Taurus only sells the 3 inch version in Brazil, the 6-incher looks much more balanced and MUCH more beautifull!
I agree!
I bought one of these, however, those clips were unfortunately not included.
What? I wonder why?
@@StephenBauerHomestead IT was used weapon and the first owner perhaps? Unfortunately, US companies do not send such "weapons" as moon clips to Europe.
Your title says it shoots 4 different bullets, then you talk about the 3 bullets that it shoots. What is the 4th bullet mentioned in your title?
Very nice indeed!
I've been hunting for one of these for a while, how'd you get ahold of one?
I found one at a gun show in GA. Spectacular find!
Can all 9mm revolvers shoot 380
I imagine so. I'm not sure how safe it would be. That's the only revolver i have that takes 9mm
In Brazil, there is no such thing as a black version with a 6-inch barrel.
There is only 3 inches and stainless color.
Unfortunately it is very expensive and costs 8 thousand reais. It is unfortunate to see a company that offers more products outside its own country of origin.
Don't give up. It may appear somewhere. I found mine at a gun show.
9mm moon clips suck. I have a S&W 986 Performance model which is a 9mm revolver and not long after it I bought a BMT Mooner. It's like stripper clipping a moon clip but mechanical. I'd suggest checking them out.
I wonder if you could shoot .38 Super with the moon clips?
I'll have to try that. They fit right into the cylinde, though.
@@StephenBauerHomestead It should because 38 super is .356 so it should engage better than 9 mm(.355).
@@pajgeoq963they fit right in the cylinder and eject flawlessly
Can the 9mm cylinder also handle the .380 acp
Someone commented and said it does accept .380. I need to check it out.
With moon clip u can shoot 380 also
Thanks for the comment! I appreciate it.
380 is also not as fat as 9mm. It's a straigh wall case whereas the 9mm is tapered. Not a good idea to interchange the two.
I must have this gun!
This is just the right weapon for a student who is unhappy with his school, teachers and classmates. Happy hunting.
We are all different . For me , I would never buy a handgun with an adjustable sight - lol
😲🤯NEXT PURCHASE!!!!
Yay!
Awesome!
New Hawkmoon just dropped
I have a Ruger Blackhawk that is chamberd the same
That's cool. I am not too familiar with that model.
Where did you find this? Been looking for it for awhile…
I purchased it at a gun show in GA.
The Only option I'm looking for from Taurus is the option to have it 100% Reliable... 'Nuff said!!!...
I agree. I just had to send in my Ruger .380. It's very frustrating.
@@StephenBauerHomestead I think covid-19 caused a lot of quality control problems that weren't already there... Just sayin'...
Can it shoot 38 super curious?
Yes, absolutely. 38, 9mm, and 357. Totally cool gun.
@@StephenBauerHomestead not 38 special 38 super are not same I thought it might fire 38 special and 38 super and 357 mag in 1 cylinder? Then 380 ACP moon clipped in 9mm cylinder? Then this makes revolver closest to model 47 Medusa revolver practically today made
It also shoots 9 mm makarov ( 9x18)
I really want the new raging judge ,that's like 5 different caliber
Yeah, I saw that at the store once. It is a huge gun. It's on my Christmas list.
I used to have one of those you're going to love the compensator at the end of the barrel when you fire it especially at night time
I want one
WILL A .380 FIT INTO THE MOON CLIPS?
I'm hoping so. We are moving so everything is packed up right now. However, someone commented earlier and said it would. I'm excited about that since I had to send my .380 back to Ruger for repairs. This would be a great alternative.
I have been trying to purchase a 692 for about 2 years. Everyone is out of them. I have tried to contact Taurus, but they will not respond.
I feel your pain. I waited for over a year, too. I found mine at a gun show. I was so excited. That may be your best chance.
