It’s too expensive, Mercedes only did these on one car. Audi is doing a very half assed job with these and already stopped putting it on newer models. Almost all cars has similar lights available aftermarket, although not really looking like these

BMW Takes Nothing For Granted.... Hence BMW M GmbH will be launching a production model featuring OLED technology in the near future. OLED stands for organic light-emitting diodes. #BMW #BMWPast #BMWPresent #BMWFuture #BMWStandard
Big problem in winter in finland. These won't produce enough heat to keep the tail lights clear of snow/ice. Hopefully the tail foglights at least will or that BMW solves this issue somehow, because for example, the current 5-series is an excellent winter car in every single way, it's very well thought out and designed to work during winter. At least the models sold in finland.
Whenever i stop to wait a customer, i do wipe the snow off of the tail. The problem is though, that when you gotta drive a longer trip, you can't just stop all the time, since it doesn't take long for the tail to be covered in snow again. That's when i use the tail foglights to keep at least a part of the tail lights visible. Even if i don't do that, usually the tail lights produce just enough heat to be barely visible, even in this 2015 520d xDrive. How ever that is not the case in a new C-class mercedes benz for example.
+Hamish Robinson Or you cannot be a dumbass and figure the work out for yourself like a real man does. But then again....true enthusiast only drive ///M's. The "other" people drive regular BMW's
+Mike Bowman or unlike a dumbass you use your warranty and leave the work upto the BMW to do instead of wasting your own time replacing their low quality parts yourself. That's why smart people get warranties for cars that have a reputation of breaking so often.
Smart people don't spend the outrageous money on a new car and wait for it to go out of warranty and pick the car up for half price. I just priced a new BMW M4...$92,000! WTF??!! I bought my E92 M3 for $36,000 with high miles. You know how much unplanned maintenance work I've done in 4 years with an added 50k miles? About $250 and I did all the work myself. A fuel pressure regulator, a side blinker bulb, and 1 O2 sensor replacement. I ight have to replace a Vehicle Speed Sensor as my car is tripping for one right now...no big deal too.....easy crap. But then again, I'm a Molecular Diffusion Engineer and deal with much harder shit than a freaking car. So you go ahead an waste your money on a new car, then trade it in once the warranty expires and be stuck with car payments you whole life. Sounds like an awesome idea....or learn how to be a man and do the work yourself. There are plenty of forums with DIY videos and documents out there these days. If a man can't work on a computer, car, wood working, metal fabrication, cooking, electrical, and plumbing...then what is a man good for? And yes I can do all that, and cook!
Now audi is using this technology in new cars. it's such a shame that bmw is not using this amazing Oled technology in new generation cars. Specially in new 5, 8 and 7 series.
ᅚᅚ Pretty sure it is, same logo, same company, built in a bmw factory, all bmw's that are made by bmw are bmw's. Have some respect for the engineers and innovators that put all their passion and hard work into developing technology like this.
I always saw mercedes bmw and audi tail lights in the night while other LED tail lights cars drove by but the red on the german cars are just soooo red pure red. While other cars have yellowish and orange red even with led lights they still look orangish and yellow but the tail loghts on the newer german cars seemed soooooooo real and pure i always wondered why?

Why the hell were these not used on any BMW models ?!
The BMW m4 is one of my dream cars. Great work!
Yeah it will always be a dream haha
And whys that? Many people own m4's and if I work hard enough, which I plan on doing, then there is no reason why I couldn't own one...
adam woodward Yeah. M4 is not that unreachable. I am a college sophomore and I am confident enough to believe one day I will drive a lambo.
adam woodward Oh sorry i forgot you live in america. In Austria that car costs 100.000€
Nope, I live in the UK, and the car costs a minimum of £40,000 which is very do-able with the right job.
This is brilliant from BMW, these lights will encourage the BMW drivers to actually use the turn signal lights xD
So much effort for just two backlights.
that what makes bmw extraordinarily good company

Great Innovation from BMW.
6 years later and I’ll still waiting for them to release a car with these tail lights. Not just put them on crazy ones like the gts.

2024 Audi Q8 was just unveiled with OLED taillights. Adios, BMW!
Glad Audi was able to inspire you
Выглядит потрясающе! Скоро на всех приорах этой страны ... =D
You should start innovating on automated/assisted blinkers. It would have a much bigger impact on road safety.
Detc0re that's true, well said
Yes, especially for BMW drivers.
Rather than science fiction lights i'd like to see improved quality (engine etc.)
SA13 it already has a powerful engine, so no doubt about that
I own two BMWs and I love these cars!
this is my dream car
💯 BMW coupes just look 🤤 especially the M4.
Time to release it.
I'm not getting a M4 yet because of this.
You are too late, The BMW M4 GTS has these lights and it is sold out.
BMW. Making cars that have a broken tail light a write off, lol.
M4 CS gotta be the best looking BMW has ever made
Imagine the possibility. The future is wild 3 dimensional taillight design
Just beautiful. I'm going to speak for all of us and say that we are excited for what the future holds for us.
Nothing haha. Only the M4 Gts got these. Really disappointing but aftermarket ones look the same

BMW always doing it best! I absolutely LOVE German vehicles!!
Gute Arbeit!
so does this mean we can set up the way they look. like a brake light design picture on the taillights..
ohh but wait isn't that Audi's technology being used by BMW for example the laser lights and the OLED tali lights!!!
Who found OLED? Who found laser?
When is this ready for series production?

so it's kinda like a display? like on a oled display on a phone. in some way?

Sam20Gallardo well you wipe off, but while you're driving snow will not melt like it melt on standard lights.
I drive a lot in the night when the snow is not plowed at all untill before morning traffic. That's why i don't like led tail lights.
Then build a light heater :-P
Oulu.
Manakuski They can solve it easily with hydrophobe technology.

Please use led for signals and reverse in 1 series
when will this technology available its been one years since this video uploaded ?
You can already buy it! Its standard in the BMW M4 GTS.
Also in the new BMW M4 CS
and you can buy china replicas
