Cicada Killer Wasp

This cicada killer wasp actually flew into my chest when I suddenly stood up. I’m sure she was heading for her underground nest and was disoriented on impact. This is what I captured after realizing what had hit me. I believe these wasps to be rather docile. They don’t sting people unless provoked. They capture these cicadas and take them to their larva which they lay in a nest in a hole borrowed underground. This one built a nest underground between a fence post and my concrete patio. Watch, as she desperately try’s to find her way back to the nest.
