Awesome walkaround! I have an '02 and absolutely love it. Probably spent 200 nights camping in it over the last 3 years. Think I'm heading towards some nitto's so glad to hear you like 'em! Cheers! (Also, kudos for actually showing what you carry in the drawers. I feel like UA-cam is full of just build videos, but it's equally as helpful to see what people carry.) happy adventures from Oregon!
Thank you so much and stoked to hear you love your 3rd Gen just as much! Nittos have been AWESOME. Let me know if there is anything else you’d like me to make a video on! 💯
That's a sweet rig! One thing you might consider is gusseting the receiver where your hitch mounted swing out attaches. The reason is that receiver hitches are designed for linear loads, not rotational forces and so, over time the constant vibrating and bouncing of the spare tire (a big, heavy weight at the end of a long lever) will cause the area around the receiver to crack. Thanks for making this post!
Nice rig, I have a 99,same color with rear locker,187k.Has plenty of cosmetic issues but nothing that can't be fixed including the peeling clear coat on the roof I plan on fixing soon. All Toyotas have clear coat issues but easy to fix.
Beautiful rig, my dude. I absolutely love the compact size of the 3rd gen. Have you ever thought of getting the fuel expansion tank that goes where the spare tire used to hang?
Thank you, man! 3rd gen will squeeze through trails. It's really a great size/design. I kicked around the idea of a long range tank, but, it adds more weight in the rear, etc. Plus, I'd have to fill it up. $$$ haha Just keeping it as is.
Thanks! Those headlights hit the garbage can. Not sure if you knew about the drama surrounding BXBuilt, but my passenger light eventually failed and I couldn't get any replacement parts for it; everything was so epoxied over, I couldn't find what chips I needed to replace in the drivers. Junked and swapped in a set of stock housings/halogens and haven't looked back.
It's fine. Here's a good synopsis of why with photo examples. (albeit from a Mazda forum): www.mazdamenders.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6971 In fact, the video might make it look lighter than it actually is.
Does the drawer system in the trunk still allow you to use the second row seats? I like the setup but just don’t know if I’d still be able to use it as my daily driver if I can’t use the 2nd row.
Yep, second row of seats is still usable. The platform lays on top of the seats when folded down. Take the platform out in a few seconds, fold the seats back up, and you’re set! @solidwoodworx has is nailed.
Yes it is. I have the aluminum RAM rail screwed securely down to the dash. (Under the dash are large flat washers and lock nuts) It holds both my Garmin Overlander GPS and my GoPro mount.

It's kinda ironic that you were talking crap on previous owners for letting the clear coat rot, but you'd already owned it for over a year and hadn't attempted to repair that simple damage? It's less than a 2 hour job to reclear the tops of vehicles, and is very beginner friendly.
Tell me what you think or what you want to see more of with my 2001 4Rrunner SR5!

Love the walk around. Very thorough. Lots of inspiration in your rig.
Super awesome… thank you! I was thinking about doing another one focused specifically on the top 5 things I use the most.
Run it
Solid wood worx built mine about 5 years ago stll is working great as should
Awesome! He builds some good stuff.
Paint fade looks cool. Own it!
No rust 🤙🏼
At times I like it, but I think I’m going to work on the paint a bit and give it some new life.

Wow what a beauty!
Thank you!
Nice rig, looks like Ocala national forest, If so I camp out there often!
Thank you, man! Hmmmm Ocala...Never been there, but I'm sure it looks very similar. This was shot in Point Washington.
Super !🎉

Give me the head lights! Sick build, keep the frame good!!

Replace that radiator asap!

Do get alot of rain/flooding over there.
You should get a snorkel if so

Is that ram mount secured to your dash?
And what is it holding? CarPlay?

@@jericoco1113 No CarPlay in this truck. Just a USB connection to the Pioneer head unit that I can play music from my iPhone, tho.
@@MyOverlandRig I’ve been looking for this type of mount for a car play unit. That mount looks amazing!
@@MyOverlandRig does the hardware to mount it to your dash come included ???
Whats ur swing out bumper?
It's from Dirtcom. I honestly can't recommend them, but others may have had better experience with them. It's why I really didn't talk about it.
Time to get new rear coils
On the list of to-do! :)
@@MyOverlandRig You need a set of OME 891 rear springs
You NEED to replace that radiator, that’s the brown shade of death
