Armen Kusikians song "Modern Baladi" hit my ears and I knew I wanted to create to it. This song filled my heart and soul in a way that brought me joy and awe and I wanted to share this work with you. Bringing women and often men together through the Art of Bellydance Raqs Sharqi is a blessing. This dance was created to celebrate and tap into your divine femininity, beauty inside and out, and individual expression. Everyone will look different doing this choreography and their supposed to because we are each unique and each bring a different feeling to the dance.

Hey Janelle 😊 So it's really late (literal timewise and when i'm posting this comment vs. when this video was posted) but I just have to say, once again, watching this video lifted me out of the down mood I was feeling. Your dancing really transports me to a happy place, and reinvigorates my passion to continue my own belly dance journey. I hope to be my own version of you as a dancer someday - confident, beautiful, and able to instantly uplift and inspire others with my dancing. Without fail every time I've watched one of your videos or when i've danced along with you I feel like I tap into something magical. Thank you for that. Janelle, this is gorgeous and you move like a goddess. How do you feel being a SYTYCD alumn has helped you? Do you feel like more mainstream dancers, your fellow alumni, and judges understand how amazing and technical you are? how you're elevating and bringing bellydance to Arab-Americans and all Americans? You can be better. i think the simle ruins it sometimes. you have a beautiful smile and i keep looking at it instead of the dance and sometimes it is a sad music and you just there grinning
Rhf Awad you are welcomed to feel and think what you want my friend. For me the music was far from sad it didn’t make me feel sad it made me feel empowered, excited, passionate and the story I built in my head for it was personal. Baladi style is not something I do often so I was putting my self out there and I’d much rather you see the dancer (me) then the tricks!. The style “Baladi” is simple and clean and simply you feel the music and let it move you and this is how I interpreted it that evening. :) Each Dance is different, different feelings, moves, emotions etc I can always do better there is always room to grow, I’ll never be perfect for everyone....
I think you can be perfect to everyone. you already know how to dance Masry which is usually happy music..i was not speaking about just this specific video i saw you different times with different music.. And sometimes it seems like youre dancing to a different song playing in your head
