Interestingly enough, in the original Avengers film we see Tony wearing a Sabbath shirt. We also see a reference to Tony's love for rock music when Peter is making his new suit, and Happy plays Back in Black by AC/DC because Peter reminds him of Tony. Then Peter makes a poor 'Oh I love Led Zeppelin' remark, a joke by the writers thats funny but still urks me every time
I remember the first time I heard this. Probably 1971. Just a few blocks from here, at a friends place. He had got three albums: this (Paranoid), Santana's "Abraxas", and Deep Purple "in Rock". I thought: Could it be more than this? Heavier? Now, 50 years later, they are still all three iconic. It could be different but not "more"!
When i was a kid in the 80s, we got cable and i started watching the NWA/WCW. They were introducing this tag team called the Road Warriors and two of the craziest looking monsters came running out with this song playing minus the lyrics. I was in awe of both the music and the Road Warriors as they destroyed their opponents in less time than it took to get to the ring. I thought this was just wrestling music. My older brother saw me going crazy watching them come out about a year later. He saw how much i loved the song and took me to his room and played his Paranoid cassette tape. My eyes lit up as i realized it's a real song and i was getting the hear the entire thing. Watching your reaction reminded me of that great time so i had to share it. I don't think anything will ever replace it as my favorite song ever.
That was the first time I ever heard the song as a kid as well. The Road Warriors were the greatest wrestling tag team of all time. Legit bad asses in real life (bouncers from Minnesota before they wrestled).
I’m sooo glad you know about Black Sabbath.. my dad who has past away now that was his first London concert in Earl’s Court 1986..he taught me to know about music in all genres and I’m thankful 🙏🏾 ❤
I’m not really a drum guy. Rarely ever even notice them. I’d heard this song a thousand times and a few years the drums in Ironman hit me upside the head. They are truly incredible.
Whenever I encountered a box fan back when I was a kid and hanging out with my buddies it was always a temptation to lean in close to the frame and utter the opening words to this song Ozzy style. Black Sabbath "Iron Man" tells the tale of a different character than Marvel Comic's Iron Man. A vengeful hero isn't a hero in the end. But what can you say -- killer guitar solos and more from 1970. This song still catches fire. When you're ready for more Black Sabbath, check out "N.I.B.", "Supernaut", "Fairies Wear Boots", and "The Wizard" along with many others.
(I read a comment saying they grabbed the info from Wikipedia, I don't know if it's true but it would explain the words in the song) Song came out in 1970 based on the story of a man traveling Forward in time seeing the future apocalypse and comes back to warn everyone but some kind of Field in the travel covers him in iron, afterwards no one would believe him or help him so he grew angry and seeked vengeance and became the apocalypse he saw.
@@ominith1 the 1970 date is only relevant to the movie. The song still also has nothing to do with the comic book character, assuming that was your point.
@@ominith1 Ozzy had written this song without ever knowing about the marvel comics. He found out about the superhero wayyy later on. the date doesnt matter, kid.

This song plays over the final credits in the first Iron Man movie.

There's is a reason it is considered one of the finest albums in any genre.
Legend has it Bill Ward is still beating on those drums to this day.
That’s why Tony stark wears a Black Sabbath T shirt in the avengers

The song isnt actually about the marvel's iron man, as ozzy never read or hear od the comics before writing the song.
also added bonus fact it wasnt written by ozzy it was written by there bassist
