The reason one button says "STANLEY" is because during the JIM button scene, the narrator tells us to roleplay as JIM to make the name the button speaks out feel impactful and meaningful. ...after playing as Stanley for so long, we know his story, and we officially have become in touch with him, beyond roleplay. ... It's meant to hit hard.
I could see that, but I interpreted it in a much more tragic way actually I figured that at some point during his eternity in isolation, the Narrator made the Stanley button either to remember the only friend he ever had, or to try and use it to convince Stanley to stop hitting the skip button with a kind gesture (only to ultimately lose his marbles before Stanley ever returned)
@@cesarflog2 In the epilogue, there are "Jim" buttons scattered all throughout the cavern. However, if you test them all, you'll find that one actually says "Stanley".
my head cannon for the epilogue is that the narrator finally overcome his laziness and made meaningful choices in real life without depending on his fictional character Stanley (stated during the Figley memory ending). Many years had gone by and Stanley was abandoned in the Narrator's fictional world with no office, no narrator, no destinations.
I feel this would also cause the Memory zone to slowly sink, since the Narrator would move on. Except for Stanley, who he had put him in the Memory zone. He probably was still able to exist in there since how dear his Fictional character was for him

A job well done. Original story of Stanley was story of no story, even that we now some canons and borders for imagination, I'm proud to say that they're great ones.
Now i get to fully enjoy that strange mystical deserted soundtrack that plays in the Nothingness of the desert. All stanley wanted to do..was help the Narrator..
It just says something like "That's alright. Just come back if you've changed your mind." If you want to choose the other option you just need to go through the epilogue again. Then it'll say something like "Oh, you're back. Have you changed your mind?"
perhaps the narrator has faded so much do to lack of contact with Stanley that he exists now as the Stanley Parable 3 game you play on the computer you find. The prompts do greet you in a similar way to how the narrator speaks, perhaps even greeting Stanley
I was gonna say lol, what if Cookie9 is an actual person and now their review is in the game forever? Peak performance and the pinnacle of human achievement, tbh.
I know everyone says this is profound, but...it feels like the entire 'deluxe' game's theme is just telling the player to move on from the Stanley Parable. As if it's justifying its own existence by telling you it's not worth enjoying anyway. Felt less like it was providing interesting and funny content, and more trying pass of its own lack thereof as the point. I just felt a bit disappointed is all.
uhhh i got all the collectibles, did the little memory lane thing after that but i didnt get the epilogue, the only thing that i can think caused this is that i restarted the run in the middle of it after the “This is the story of a man named stanley” OR that i skipped one of the collectibles by accident in the memory lane…

Why does it look so smooth when Stanley walks up on the stairs?
Like... yeah, I can't even explain it. Lol
Probably because the stairs actually use a ramp collider for the player object to walk up on.
