- Becky tearfully promises her son a wonderful future. Becky says good-bye to C.J. and Amber. C.J. tells Becky that their love will last forever, just before Becky passes away. Morgan cannot comprehend why Ridge would insist on telling Taylor the truth if Morgan really turns out to be pregnant. Ridge waits to learn what the next nine months will hold.

He is fantastic (or they, I believe it's twins)! He even said mama and waved right on cue. ❤

Even though the show has portrayed Amber as unselfish for not telling Becky about her diagnosis right away, there is a punishment for that coming down the pike. Had Amber told Becky earlier and given her enough time to prepare, Becky might've done all the legal work to grant Amber custody of Little Eric. Instead that will now become a contentious issue, a problem completely of Amber's making. And it again shows what a Reliable Narrator Stephanie is because she warned Amber several times that Becky needed, "time to prepare and make arrangements."
Little Eric is not Little anymore and he knows Rick and Amber is his parents. He know about Decaon being his biological father but that does mean anything.
Yes - we are already starting to see the effects of this because it's clear nobody quite knows who will be responsible for Little Eric after Becky is gone. And Rick saying "what if his biological father shows up?" foreshadows that it is _Rick himself_ who will bring Deacon into this.

I keep saying Amber should have been arrested for fraud and improper administration of a controlled substance.
Nothing she did was noble, or even sensible.

They have better imagination when they have to fake a death... my personal best was Sheila eaten by a bear or something and leaving 2 toes if i remember correctly... that was wild
😭Why poor Becky had to die? So sad watching this episode from the past again ... Poor Amber losing her cousin & CJ losing his wife,he was devastated. The baby losing his biological mom & watching her spend her last moments with him was heartbreaking too. I feel that,Becky was at peace,when she died & the writers did a decent job writing her storyline.
I wish they would have kept CJ on longer than they did and not have him be someone who just came and went in later episodes. He really turned his life, and could’ve been written into the script to try to be a better friend to Rick when he later came back into the picture and started all his mess.

@@NewYorkNick0607 This was just as bad as Bill not being present during Caroline’s last scenes. Maybe this also highlights cultural differences as well. In predominantly Christian cultures, the spouse comes before the parents ! The he ll with that!
@@Esi-741yes, and not having Bill on Caroline's last moments was esp ridiculous bc he was an integral character and we saw ON SCREEN his love and protection of his daughter.
To me, I am neither here nor there with Becky or her parents and their mainly offscreen relationship.
That said, it makes no sense that they would have left right after she got out the hospital.
This story is more about Amber's grief, more than Becky's own spouse.
@@Esi-741 Yeah I was thinking about Bill Spencer specifically and how they dishonored his relationship with Caroline. That's a great point though. It's so true that in Judeo-Christian culture, once you're married, your spouse outranks parents and siblings in terms of your family hierarchy.
The timeline is off here. It's way too soon for Morgan to take a pregnancy test.

We now know how young Ridge would have reacted to teenage Morgan's pregnancy.

*Becky's Beautiful Death*
Becky's death, although heartbreaking, is really a "perfect" death - the "Beautiful Death" that *Nick* has referred to before (in relation to Caroline's death).
Becky gets her final romantic dinner with CJ at the Café Russe. They dine, they dance, they even take a photo to save the moment. Becky seems to be doing fine and is happy. She is dressed like an angel and comes across as one, even saying she's "halfway to heaven".
And when they return home, Becky's death is imminent, without a lot of suffering and just enough time for her to say her goodbyes. She gets to spend time with her son, her husband and her cousin. She has the opportunity to say her final words to all of them in a dignified way, and we can see that she is at peace with what is happening to her. She is not even in pain (in fact, for a dying person she appears amazingly healthy). CJ and Becky have a heartfelt conversation about their eternal love and recall their wedding day, they kiss, and then Becky quietly and peacefully passes away.
This gives closure not only to the other characters, but to the viewers as well. We feel that Becky's story has come to an end and that there is nothing left to say.- it is over because it _needs_ to be over. There are no Ioose ends, no confIicts that need to be resolved, and only happy memories to recall. Becky's death, in a way, leaves us feeling _good_ about it. Not because Becky has left behind a husband and a young child of course, but because it is so _resolved._ It also helps that our emotional investment in Becky has actually been _lowered_ over the course of the storyline by her being treated like an "angel" rather than a subjective person in the writing for the past few months - she has already been "fading away" for a while. It's like her entire _purpose_ was to die like this - the story has been more about the other characters' reactions to her illness than about Becky herself.
However they didn't make love.. It's a pity.

Good analysis! And thanks for the shoutout. In keeping with what I wrote about Caroline's "beautiful" death (as opposed to Scott's harrowing death in Catalina), Becky dies in love and knowing she is loved. For a genre that's primarily about romantic intrigue, that is the best ending a character can get (and one many people IRL are not guaranteed).
@@NewYorkNick0607yes! I actually thought of your excellent "death analysis" of Scott vs Caroline when writing this (I was thinking of doing something similar for the "double deaths" of Becky and Macy as these are also "maximum contrast deaths").
And you are so right - dying while being loved is the ultimate "happy ending" on a soap.
But to me, as similar as Caroline's and Becky's deaths are, there are also differences that we've pointed out that made the former much more poignant - mainly the issue of subjectivity. Just like we want to see the point of view of a good villain (like you've pointed out in you post about Morgan vs Sheila), we want to experience the journey of a dying character from "within" in order to really feel it, and we weren't given a chance to do that with Becky (until the very end).

Becky had that single tear that Brooke always has after one of her many misdeeds. But Becky's one tear was much more impactful that all of those crocodile tears that Brooke has produced over the years. 😆

Morgan is obviously nuts, but she has a point.. Ridge could never have completed the "insemination" act if he wasn't the slightest bit a r o u s E d and actually wanted to. He needs to be real.
Ridge's reasoning is _exactly_ like Brooke's "he had me on the bed" description of what happened in Venice.

@@annieo6527 yep. That's why I said that Ridge and Brooke both are mad they were tricked, but the fact that they both FELL for the trick and responded, seems to be going over their heads.
At least Thorne walked in and saw what was going on for himself (and still stupidly chose to go along with Brooke's narrative) .
Taylor, on the other hand, has no idea what's going on, so she can only go along with the cryptic narrative she's being fed.
