The cotton bowl was a complete disaster, I’ve never seen anything like that in my lifetime as a Buckeye fan!!! It got a little better, thankfully because of Simmons, Seth McLachlan!. But spotty everywhere else, just not enough quality depth!!! My hope is that the O line turns into a strength again at some point, Is the only way I think OSU gets over the top to win a championship!. We’ll see but Frye needs to step it up with the recruiting or he’s done imo. Go Bucks
I was just about to say the same thing!!! His college & NFL accomplishments… Lecharles’ Lineman camp and knowledge of the position rivals Larry Johnson
I’ve said the same thing before, that guy is all about BUSINESS!! OSU needs to find a coach with a mean streak coaching the O line that can recruit. It’s got to change if they expect to beat SCUM AGAIN!!! Need nasty O lineman to get the job done imo. Go Bucks
Do you seriously think the NFL wants them? The only job Day could get is as a QB Coach, not an Offensive Coordinator which he’s bad at, and definitely not as a HC. In the NFL the talent is comparable between teams, Day has a bad record against comparable talent.
It doesn't matter 3, 4, or 5 stars in comparison to the the complete failure of coaching to develop our big guys. We have a systemic coaching incompetence issue, and it has been the case for years. The word is out on this coaching staff, and potential recruits are surely aware.
It doesn’t matter at this point who they get, the talent is only developed at WR, the rest just fight to stay afloat. We do not have the right coaches to get it done. Most coaches make in game adjustments, the ones at OSU do not. We will continue to make the B1G title game week a bye week as long as Day, Frye, Kelly, and Special Teams Coordinators are still in C-bus.
Maybe the strategy is: if we ignore the offensive line and kicking deficiencies, maybe these problems will disappear! Looks like things are going to get much worse next season at this rate.
The Buckeyes are playing the game on the wrong side of the line scrimmage. The offensive line doesn't run block correctly. Their pad level is too high and they're slow off the ball. The quality and quantity is not there from a recruiting standpoint. Have to move on from Frye.
We seriously need a great OLine Coach and Special Teams coach! We need to have a much more diverse and consistent run game even with the Backs that we have! Judkins and Henderson would have even been better with better line play! Fry is not the answer!
OSU can't run the ball. Ryan Day continues to foolishly try and that is a big downfall. He does not have the offensive line necessary to be able to run the ball. He hasn’t for a few years and does not recruit the men he needs to do that. He has the best receiving core in the country and should utilize it more. There is no doubt OSU can win the Natty. Ryan deserves the rath of OSU faithful. His family does not and should be shielded from these people who do. He is the coach and solely responsible. It is an embarrassment to Buckeye Nation for his family to be attacked.
5 and 4 stars, we must have them. Hmmm, but aren't we are getting beat by 3 and 4 stars lining up against us? Gee, it just cannot be because Day is a stellar big time recruiter. Let's see the offensive coordinator has to embarrass the wide receiver coach and players publicly to get them to block, and our O line looks a lot like our wide receivers blocking, but never mind, repeat after me...5s and 4s, 5s and 4s, we must have more 5s and 4s!!!
What they do with Justin Frye isn’t NEARLY as important as what they do with Ryan Day. Justin Frye had absolutely NOTHING to do with the play-calling on Saturday, or the game plans for ANY of our big games the past 5yrs. Ryan Day could spend $40million on his roster, and it wouldn’t matter. There’s NO reason we should be losing games under these circumstances.
The play calling is why Ohio State won that game, they tried to impose their will against Michigan's strength instead of doing what they do best and get the ball to the playmakers on the perimeter. Lou Holtz said Ohio State wasn't tough up front and Ryan Day was trying to prove him wrong rather than let Ohio State skill players determine the outcome of the game. They should have run crossing routes for Jeremiah Smith, Michigan could not cover him in that situation. Ryan Day and Chip Kelly did Michigan a huge favor in that game, and that is why Ohio State only scored 10 points. Also Ohio State needs to find a new kicker, because their current kicker chokes under pressure. If Ohio State has to make a kick at the end of the game for victory in the playoffs, that kicker is going to shank it, because he can't handle pressure.
Be honest you don't know where his going until it's official the fact that David Sanders has not signed and don't have to till Feb 5th that bodes well in Ohio state favor in my opinion if Ohio State Staff is smart they would be on the Phone with him as we speak until his confirmation # What doesn't look good is you probably explained to him he has to come to Columbus and compete for the left tackle position, instead of saying you can start, Technically he can play any where on the line if he was white you would let him start. You would let someone from the transfer portal start. THERE'S NOTHING WRONG WITH GOING THE EXTRA MILE TO GET THE RECRUITS YOU COVET Last time I CHECKED Orlando Pace started as a freshman we he arrived here what's the difference ( Orlando is 2 finches taller than David )
Why are the Buckeye's missing Seth Mclaughlin so much? Could it be that he was properly trained on how to block at Alabama, and Thank God that Day and the rest of his clown show hasn't had enough time to screw him up too. How the hell can anyone on the O line be powerful at the point of attack when they don't fire off the ball, don't stay low, don't keep their legs driving behind hips, torsos, chest, arms, and hands into a concentrated blow on a defender? Why do our coaches seem to want to neuter the fearsome potential kinetic energy in the concentrated 300 plus ponds of accelerating force, just teach our guys to stand-up in-place and engage in a pathetic 3 second wrestling match with defenders? That is followed often by the inevitable defensive penetration from the front four and the LOS ending up on our side of the ball (Meyer noticed this on the BTN network). Defensive coordinators and players have to be laughing and salivating while they watch the replay. Also, why so many injuries on the O line? This has become expected with OSU. Could it be conditioning, or could it be like I was taught by my coaches many years ago where the warned how timid, unaggressive effort will get you hurt. It is sadly apparent that our coaches talk toughness, but undermine it on the O line in just about every way possible.
Umm why do you think we couldn't run the ball?? 'Cause the line sucks! Doesn't excuse the play calling because the OC/HC have to realize that their O line sucks and adapt accordingly, but the O line play in that game was inexcusable.
JUSTIN FRYE IS DAYS BUDDY!! BAD MOVE DAY! FIRE JUSTIN FRYE!! BRING IN A TALENTED O LINE RECRUITER PERIOD! PLAYER DEVELOPMENT IS SORELY LACKING WITH THE DAY STAFF!! THE 2021 CLASS HAS BEEN OVERRATED PERIOD!! NO SIGNIFICANT WINS FROM THIS GROUP AND THE D LINE HASN'T PRODUCED LIKE THE HEADLINES!! NO BOSA BOYS OR CHASE YOUNG!!
the offensive line and the entire kicking game has been the Achilles heel for the buckeyes

The best Analysis on this issue!
LeCharles needs to get the call!

Not if Day is still the head coach…
This is THE answer.
Tegra Tshabolia is awful in run blocking…
If you know your OL is weak WTH would you have a gameplan that would expose the Oline?
Frye needs to go with Day to the NFL.
Do you seriously think the NFL wants them?

He can always go to his brothers investigation firm maybe he can find Lou holtz.
Chip Kelly too.
@@robertjulieannanalett1691 you can enjoy your non trip to the playoffs, your 7-5 record, the Banana Cream Pie Bowl and the upcoming NCAA punishments.
Frye needs to go with Day to New Hampshire, and he could be Ryan's lawn boy.
Oline is the one single reason that we are not undefeated. Justin Frye has to go
Special Teams coach would like to have a word with you.
@@BSTPDeConwe have an O line the special teams don’t matter
Day will not fire his ole buddy Frye. Sad but true
Y'all spot on.

Get some 5 star offensive linemen & the rest will take care of itself!
But, Tim May said we have another stellar "Big Time" recruiting class. So the stars by a recruits name is the measure of success?
They have to recruit at least 3 starting caliber offensive linemen from the portal.
Question for next year- Can any of the defensive linemen move over to the offensive line?
It doesn’t matter at this point who they get, the talent is only developed at WR, the rest just fight to stay afloat. We do not have the right coaches to get it done. Coaches need to develop which hasnt happen under Day as HC. OSU does not look like other 5-Stars in SEC and even at some smaller schools crazy
Next year is looking even uglier for the offensive line unless OSU gets lucky in the portal. The poor recruiting is catching-up with OSU.
This should be a 30
Second segment… easy answer FIRE him. Right after you fire Day and Kelly
Maybe the strategy is: if we ignore the offensive line and kicking deficiencies, maybe these problems will disappear! Looks like things are going to get much worse next season at this rate.

The quality and quantity is not there from a recruiting standpoint.
Have to move on from Frye.
So, with all the Divisions in College Football we should be able to find at least three quality linemen.
The idea that getting high level recruits has to be prioritized when lower level guys being developed properly is perfectly fine is bizarre
We seriously need a great OLine Coach and Special Teams coach! We need to have a much more diverse and consistent run game even with the Backs that we have! Judkins and Henderson would have even been better with better line play! Fry is not the answer!
What about Hinzman?
We could be another two years out before the current OL players are ready.
Can we get a KICKER while we're at it? Maybe one who won't choke. At home. If dude hits his FGs, we win 16-13...
Fire all 3 west coast coaches Day,Frye and Kelly ! They don’t get it. Bye Bye west coast boys.
Agree 100%!
you know day and kelly are from the east coast right lol
