The collision industry is terrible, i did it for 30 years, you have to work your ass off to make money at it (flat rate), no loyalty, controlled by insurance companies, hard on your body. It's ok when you are young but hard on an older technician. Cars are so complex now, you need constant training to keep up with the new technologies and no extra pay for all the headaches. High end restoration work is what i do now, charge what you are worth and work at your own pace. much more satisfying.
