Dedicated to bringing old iron back from the dead and keeping it from the scrap yard. Working usually with a budget of $0, refurbishing and rebuilding more than replacing. Just a middle-aged farm kid addicted to doing it myself with crappy tools, limited time an resources. * DISCLAIMER* I AM NOT A CERTIFIED MECHANIC! I am an enthusiast who likes to work on his own stuff. Listen to my advice/ instruction at your own discretion and risk. I only work on my stuff and cars of friends for fun, never for $$$

I'm so pissed right now! My colleague spilled his milktea over the buttons on my 2 month old car
I didn't see him block the tires, to keep it from rolling. Also, a hard jack stand under the car in safest. Hang the removed caliper from a coat hanger wire hook. If it falls off that thing it hanging from now, you can break or damage the rubber brake line, and then yur screwed. If the line is damaged, and you don't see it, you'll know it, after you crash into the back of that brand new Mercedes, cause your brake fluid leaked out. I don't think braking hard after new pads are installed is good, because the heat build up can wreck the resins in the pads. Go easy on the brakes for a 100 miles, at least.
I used Jigaloo after taking the console out, worked much better
Hoping this works for my VW Jetta. Wasn't a clumsy coffee spill but I made the mistake of leaving an unopened dr. Pepper can on the passenger seat in 100°+ weather. A couple hours later, BOOM. Exploded all over my dash / ceiling. Learn from my mistake as well yall 😂
Right! Shame on Mazda! I only spilled only a little of my flavored coffee... a "dollop" popped out of the sip-hole and now my console is stuck! Been trying WD-40 Contact Cleaner to no avail! I'll have to try the foaming glass cleaner. **UPDATE** Foaming glass cleaner worked like a charm!
I’m working on getting my shop completed this summer. I’ll be hitting you up on some vehicle project ideas
Ideas are my specialty:)
I spilled drinking water in the same area and I’m afraid the buttons and the automatic gears shift stops working, I need to move but I’m afraid to start the car
Hey I know this guy!
Good to see your dad doing better Paul. Glad to see see both your parents sharing these good memories too.
Wow that looks so Good, and looks so Easy to apply, I will get some and try it on my Cars, Thanks Paul...
Alright man, this has to be one of the best car videos I watched. I’m doing my mom’s car and wanted a tutorial. But holy shit, your commentary is outrageously funny. And the custom tool descriptions were spot on. And the “not happening today”s were exactly what I tell my self. It was like I was filming myself doing this job. Thanks for the video and thanks for the commentary. Made my day. 😂😂😂
how loud is that 3m da polisher?
Glass cleaner foaming action and duster from home depo did the job!!
so helpfull, thanks a lot.
How often to replace spark plugs?
Mazda recommends 40K, I usually forget and do it at 60 and the pugs look pretty good.
Just did the oil change on mine with 4.5 qts and its showing the EXACT same thing. One side only shows the tip on the stick and the other shows its overfilled. After driving it for a while the amber oil light comes on. Did yours also come on? Idk what to do..
Make sure you don't have any leaks, the plastic covers underneath can hold a lot of oil. I usually put the 4.5 in, drive it than add another 1/4 qt. On ours it tends to "use" oil. Not smoking or anything but every oil change it is a bit low. Should show on the stick after it settles. Dont eve drive it with the oil light on.
Well I've missed seeing this old girl. I remember when you first brought it to youtube. 56 is my favorite of the 3 2:11
1956 is my favorite year of tri5
Me too, fortunately this one has been in the family my whole life. 55 seems aggressive and stripped down a little, 57 seems to be a little extra. 56 has the classy lines and just enough aggressiveness to the design. IMO
@@MissedAGear we had all three years over time. The 56 I can remember my mom driving it as a second car. And that's probably what got my attention and its remaining my favorite.
I just tried this after having stuck buttons for over 2 years. It worked like a charm! I could actually see the spilt coffee bubbling up from the sides of the buttons. Thanks so much! I'm 73 years old and did it myself after being told by a shop that they would not address the issue for me.
Great to hear!
In this a 3.6R? Looking for a replacement for my headlamps and these are sick.
Now its 3 years older.
I’m confused about the brake caliper part he did can someone explain
I'll do it. Thank you.
Nice looking cabovers! No cabover collection would be complete without the classic Ford C-Series! Personally, I have a yellow 1965 Ford C900 as a Matchbox in my diecast collection.
Question is??? Did it work the next morning??? Because usually the glass cleaner, steamer, compressed air fixes the immediate problem. BUT THE SUGARS in those drinks coagulate again in time and the buttons STICK AGAIN!
Took another run at it about two weeks later and its been great since
I have a 19 2.0 2LT RS in crush orange with American Racing TTf 20 x9.5 gloss black on a square set up with 275 35 20's. I have the sunroof all leather, tech package, black rally stripes, front lip, side skirts and a wicker bill added to the RS spoiler and I dare anyone to tell me this car is not a fun daily driver. It's light weight, goes around corners hugging the ground never using breaks. Oh and don't forget the Flow master American thunder axle back exhaust. I love it and the compliments are coming in everyday. Best part is I'm watching all the SS's parked at the gas station as I go by. 😆
I use Mobil 1 Extended Performance High Mileage Full Synthetic 5W-30 motor oil & Mobil 1 Extended Performance Oil Filter on my 2009 Toyota Camry SE V6.
Can you tell us what the torque value was after you reset them. You should get a movie deal. You look like an actor making a promo video for mazda.
Can you tell me where you got that Standox liquid silver from?
Is this one on Nelson Lecounts Registry?
Only cheap if you steal 🤣
3m has 5k & 7k pads..i still use the rotary for 10" finish pad..swirl marks are from the wool pads
My Akebono Pads wore out pretty quickly because the Mechanic used Chassis grease in the Sliding pins instead of Hi temp grease and it jammed the pads against the rotor disc 😢. Anyone had this issue of wrong grease?
Why not just put in the LED bulbs, all are a pain to change, but no need to tear it apart, lol they are really nice though, how expensive were they?
About $500, www.ebay.com/itm/401635304023
Foam and glass cleaner on electrical switches questionable? Ok it worked but risky better off using proper electric cleaning solvent then lube!
Was your first sentence a question?

HAAAA! What a Dad!
Use Electroclean electronics cleaner spray. its made for this
Thank you! Worked perfectly on my wife’s 2014 Chevy equinox. 90% of the buttons were stuck but not anymore. Didn’t need to compress air either, just let the foam soak. Update…I ended up having to repeat the process days later and use compressed air. After the first attempt once everything dried it was stuck again, the air blew out all the sticky stuff while it’s wet. Thanks again!!
Thank you so much! And I was able to put the captions on and follow along. Thanks for that.
Thank you. My son vomitted on the controller. Same buttons also as you. Guess it happens alot to cx5 owners. Will try this soon
Good luck!
I love these trucks and yes I agree.
I test drove a 1LT 2.0 with some upgraded wheels and sunroof. I wanted a fun car that wont land me in jail - that also gets decent mpg. I'm 6'3" and the dealbreaker was the sunroof. I really like to have a sunroof for where I drive - but because they have to sorta after-market them due to the reverse mohawk on the roof, when the sunroof was closed, I was hitting my head against the glass. Too bad - maybe future model years will have a slightly taller roof. It was pretty much what I expected otherwise - the bonus is - when you throw it into a turn, you can definitely tell the front end is like 400lbs lighter than the V8.
Yes !!
I have a cousin to this car has a couple extra doors
Sure love your Dad Paul, Rebuilding his car is also a rebuild on Him, Glad You guys got him going again, He's looking Good, Loved the Video, and Hey your Mom Linda is looking good too, See ya Buddy...
56 belair station wagon green and white when I was 16. That 6 banger was "the dirt wagon". My aunt got it new, then it went to my grandfather, then to my mother, then to me, then to "Frank's"junk yard. They tore down Frank's to make the Seattle dump.
my 56 has seat belts....as thats how my dad ordered it when i was 4 ...he gave it to me in 71 but i drove it when i was 16......great back seat lol ..an i still have her ..an its fast but a sleeper ..you would not know
Nice!
Once a person finds gorilla tape there's no going back. Unless you want something that's more easily removed then duct tape would be the product. I only suggest this because I know it's true. But the silver gray gorilla tape isn't any better than the silver grey duct tape. It's an idea to do a side-by-side comparison for content. I've got in tow on an old tri-five Chevy that stuck on the back of the surface rust trunk lid, nearly 10 years ago. I wrote in tow with chunks of orange gorilla tape. Almost a decade later it is still firmly attached and only slightly faded. I never intended to make this car a trailer Queen it's always going to be a rustober car. So the tape has become a science experiment and part of its history. I've got several old duct tape shirts like duct tape pro duct tape King I'll send them to you if you want them
Looks AWESOME
My first car was a 1956 Chevrolet Belair 2 Tone Green …265/180hp….for 300.00 Dollars!! It was rust free ..Imaculate inside…
