  • At the Garrison Institute's 2011 Climate, Cities and Behavior Symposium, Dr. Dan Siegel of the Mindsight Institute discusses the neurological basis of behavior, the mind, the brain and human relationships in the contect of cities. He explains one definition of the mind as "an embodied and relational emergent process that regulates the flow of energy and information," and describes the role of awareness and attention in monitoring and modifying the mind. He recommends using the notion of health as a means of linking individual, community and planetary wellbeing. To learn more about the Garrison Institute's Climate, Mind & Behavior Initiative:

Lacks consideration for meta forces - which is crucial for true balance and commons sense.

Altruism is preached and when you don't succumb to the "greater good" you get scorned.
In adult life altruism is forced. Try not to pay taxes and see if they come to your door with flowers or guns :)
Perpetual conflict, wars and insanity happens because people are not nourished (I put fixed in double quotes) on their own. They assume group roles. That feeling of oneness with everyone else can only come when the one is strong on it's own. When you get dissolved and grind conflict happens.

The "we" healthy sense comes FIRST from healthy sense of "me".
This forced altruism in public schools is why our kids have unhealthy self esteem. When you don't cherish yourself how can you cherish others?
This push for more "we" in education is dangerous thing. Our system is made of individuals and they have to be "fixed" before we force them in to this 'One mind' proposed by collectivists.
