Great. Is there an option to get only the hub? Would it fit original spokes and rims? I would trust the original to be stronger against denting and spoke damage, or am I wrong? Up to now I knew only the cush hub from Han Wheels. They cost twice as much.
I got a KKE cush drive for the KTM 525 and I'm really happy with it but one thing I couldn't find a source for was replacement KKE drive blocks, I found that KTM 690 ones fit and I've made a video on it for anyone who needs more info. It's good to replace cush drive rubbers from time to time especially on the bigger single cylinder bikes like DR650's and the bigger KTM's, they shrink and get hard which increases driveline slop and reduces their damping effectiveness, I good rule of thumb is once they start falling out on their own when you take the wheel out its probobly time for a fresh set. On a DR650 that's usually around 10,000km ish, not sure what it is for these KKE wheels as I haven't done meany K's yet.
Good move. I put a Haan/SMPro wheel on from John Titman racing in 2019. Cost about $1300 then. You can get these wheels directly from Aliexpress plus all sorts of other stuff for KTMs.
Keith, are the KKE rims Chinese or USA? I can only see a USA site and looking for a rear rim for a Norden 901 / KTM 890. Having trouble seeing an email address to contact them too. Thanks Arwon
Not a fan of the white tank unless riding off road. Black tank will definitely bring it together better. 500 23, nice purchase. 👌 in Australia when it's a 500cc or over, your registration is the same cost as a car, is it the same there?
Can’t wait to hear how it goes! Also Keith, you’re a bloody legend. Please keep enjoying yourself and bringing us along! You really saved me with the indicators, I thought I was losing my mind. Even after I watched your vid got it fixed in an evening!!
I had a leftover cush wheel from the 525, that was dedicated to street duty on a newer 2014 450. Don't really notice a positive difference since the clutch has dampers. The negative is the wheel is heavier and picked up another bearing. The extra unsprung weight is noticeable offroad. I don't think I would buy a cush hub for the newer bikes... the 450 has 12k miles on stock wheel set and no problems what so ever... 7 years as a singletrack bike, remainder mostly dualsporting with a mix of single. Probably should sell the wheel but too lazy 🤔
It was a consideration, sure. I decided I wanted a second set of wheels though, so went a different path. The Motomox would certainly be a LOT lighter.. you just need to make sure you get the right tooth size for ALL your riding. No Swapping!
Nicely done. Any reason to change the front rim other than having them match (or only sold in pairs)? Also, see you went with a 48T rear, is the front stock 15T or 14t?
Phantastisch content, thanks for sharing 👍as always super informativ and you are a wonderful kind Person, Keith. Look forward for the upcoming stuff. Best greatings from germany 😉
The 2024 has a cush type system built into the clutch. Not a big fan of that as they do need to be replaced fairly often. I imagine combining with a cush hub might lengthen that interval.
Hi Keith, I managed to get it to work ! I'm interested in knowing how these go for you... Where did you purchase the KKE wheels from ? Great channel Keith, really enjoy your videos Cheers, Andrew NZ
I just got my Netherland's Haan cush drive with Japanese Exel rims. Built buy Kuyba here in socal for my plated 03 Honda XR650R. I bought it in 03 and has sat since. Just now getting it back ready and with all the kit to do adv. rides. The price you quoted is correct. Sorry you had to buy the china stuff. I don't like the PRC and try to make them fail. China crap is a no go for me.
I have ridden approx 8000 kms on my 2006 ktm 525 fitted with same kke rear cushdrive hub. I am very happy with this install and would recommend it. A great price and good quality mod.
G'day James, thanks for your concerns for my financial wellbeing! It's definitely a balancing act - I am primarily interested in creating quality content that doesn't waste people's time. But point taken - for the sake of 23 extra seconds this one would've been a good candidate to extend. 👍

Thanks Keith. I have done something similar to my 500 exc, but I got it from Warp 9 👍. I hope you got also some spare seals and bearings.
For the rubber cush spacers you need to put a little bit of grease to facilitate install and recommended anyway instead of using dry. 👍
Grease traps dirt and dust and turns into grinding paste, dry is better for a cush drive.

THX Keith ! After watching this video I ordered a Warp 9 Cush drive for my 22 Beta 500. Expecting it in about 4+- weeks. Appreciate your tech videos.
Glad I could help!
I wonder if this is the same manufacturer for Tusk?

I just got a set of Sm pro platinum wheels and they use kke hubs

You went to ringwood and didnt call in to say hi?
No adventure rims on their website :(
What about chain alignment
Hey Keith, after a couple of months, have you done any technical rides that have tested the durability of the wheels? Any dings or buckles?
Hi Keith. One month on, do you have any considerations on whether the upgrade was worth it? Cheers.

Chinese I thought.....
Thanks Keith; I find myself coming back to your content repeatedly as I'm making a lot of similar upgrades to my '21 500. It's really helpful.
Thanks. I keep watching these KTM500 related review for my future bike!
Good to see you getting your tyres at Scotty's, the wheels look good as well.. 👍👍

I always pull a seal on the bearings to see how well they are greased. Most of the time I want more or better grease
What year models for the 500 do they fit?
Awesome video thanks man! Alot of great info in this video guys.

ah, finally you conceded to the cush! Curious to know how it goes, if you then observe a real difference
Definetly, there is.

Hi Keith, great helpful content. Did you consider the Motomox cush sprocket when you were evaluating a cush drive? If so your thoughts. Thx g

@@keithjob Thx Keith, much appreciated.
Well - do you notice a difference when riding? Does it reduce the felt vibration in the seat and pegs?
My thoughts here: ua-cam.com/video/oe5_nmFLYis/v-deo.html
@@keithjob Yes - I found this later - thank you! Keep up the great work.
nice, do they sell in Europe

Matching colours 😎. 14T front. It's a great combo for adv
Man, every time I watch one of your videos my wishlist for my bike gets a bit longer 😂. I think it now exceeds my current savings
put some white grease into the cush hub make everything easier and is better for the rubbers

Hi Keith, Try 14/49 one ride mate.
Another top video
Will these fit the 2024 models?

Bought them from eBay, seller "kkeracing2020". They ship from Queensland. I snagged a good deal during the Black Friday sales 😎 .
