hello everyone!! I'm super excited to share this cover with you all. I've been waiting for Look at the Sky to be released since Secret Sky last year and i'm so glad it's out now. This "one man band" cover features me playing every instrument EXCEPT for the violin, which was played by the incredibly talented Holly May! This is, by far, the most epic and best cover of LATS out there, especially the 3:36 part... Sad Machine reference is also great! This is very underrated!! And yeah, I love all other singles of Nurture too

I had to rewatch the part a couple of times. 😂 I had been waiting for LATS’s release since the Secret Sky live, too. And I just watched the official music video by Porter (and then your cover). Love your handmade style so much! I’m sure Porter would like that, too!
Haha now you're making me wish I had the red panda click it instead! Also on that note, I really really love the LATS music video -- it confused me a lot the first time but after reading the description I realized the power of it. And thank you so much! I'd be more than honored if Porter ever saw this, that'd make my entire year lol :)
Now I just read the description (thanks for mentioning it) and I couldn't agree more with what Porter says about creativity. About the LATS music video, that white ghost-like things remind me of Kaonashi from Spirited Away. Back to your cover, I really want to nail down Shelter and Get Your Wish in the short section but it's so subtle! I got Sad Machine there but the other two are hard to catch.
@@yoshino7993 For sure, plus he always has a way of wording things so poetically! And they reminded me of Kaonashi as well, I wonder if Porter took some inspiration from that, haha. Also, if it helps any, the Shelter melody is played on the harp sound near the beginning of that section, and Get Your Wish is played on a combination of the harp and vocal synth lead (to the melody of the part "so tell me how it felt when you walked on water") near the end of the section. Hope this helps and thank you again!

Oh! I screen-recorded me drawing those little scribbles in a drawing software, then took that recording to my video software and chroma key-ed out the black background so it was just the white scribble lines on a transparent background! Thank you so much by the way :)

Okay good solid cover, but did you pull that acoustic guitar out of your backyard shed that hasn't seen light of day in 10 years ? Those strings sound terrible, might as have re-strung it with rusty chicken wire. Next time I would get new strings, string cleaning wipes or the best option, string lube. That screchy guitar noise could have been prevented or just lessened... besides that it was great 😂
You're not that wrong to be completely honest, haha. I've only recently started playing the acoustic guitar (about 2 months or so ago) so I wasn't aware that's what prevents that scratching sound. Thanks for the tip, i'll re-string it asap!
2:40, you could of eqed out those sharp guitar slides, they really give a sharp texture in a bad way.. but good job, i liked it.. a faithful cover :)
I actually did, believe it or not! Even tried to automate the volume down when they hit, I just should've changed guitar strings before recording cause I agree they're way too loud haha. Glad you liked it aside from that, though :)
