Love it when CG is prominently featured in vids! So knowledgeable and the loving dynamic between you and CG, Kim, is so wonderful to see🥰
You just made his day, Miriam, thank you!! Sometimes he feels like some folks are like "lose the cameraguy"!!! CK
@ NO!! CG forever!!🥰
It looks great from overhead and you can’t tell the problems that you had. It’s going to look great with the raised beds and other things you choose. I’m looking forward to seeing it completed. 😊
Thank you! We're so excited about the finished project too! CK/CG
All coming together now. I like your expression near the beginning, "Let them think that we know what we are doing". Ha, that's my philosophy! Enjoy the rain.
Hi Pat! It's all about the game face! HA HA j.k. sort of! Thanks for watching - CK
I thought about doing this for a little spot in my garden to put a tent to hang out in the fresh air and all my work and to be out in rainy days. Thanks for bringing us along guys!
I think for a "little" spot - would be a great 'let's see how it goes/looks and go from there. Thanks for watching/commenting! CK
Thank you Kim. I’ve always wondered how these decking tiles are out together.
Yours look amazing.
You are welcome. I am so glad that you had a takeaway from this project. I mean this...that makes it all worth it to us - so THANK YOU for sharing this. CK & CG
Great job! It looks great! I love how Mac seemed to say, “is it ok to walk on now?”
Right?! He really seems to like the spot!
Looking great y'all! Every DIY comes with a few hiccups in our world too. Thanks for showing reality and that not everything is just contracted out and perfect. You show us a real perspective that many of us can relate to. Mac looked so cute sitting in the middle of the project 😂.
Thanks for the encouragement. We try to keep it real! 😊. CK & CG
Great job guys!!! Can’t wait to see what you put on it. Mac looks like the building inspector😂 you two are very inspiring!!
I did a similar build in my Chill Zone but with patio pavers and went way overboard with the prep. Escavated almost two feet then layered in drainage rocks, from the larger rocks at the base to incrementally smaller and smaller rocks until I finished off with a good layer of paver sand. Screeded the top for a nice level base then laid them in. I'll never do it again (too much work!) but the pavers are holding level after 15 years. I think you guys did a great job and I like that you can easily and quickly disassemble it if you like! Looks like Mac is already staking a claim to his spot!
Great insight! Hmmmm, the pavers.....forgot to consider those b/c you are correct - they are durable....Great back story too. Remember your suggestion for our fence wind issue, as an alternative to every other 2 slats with a gap, (we're trying to house and parked vehicles) Camera Guy was toying with the idea of angling the slats like vent slats with some type of spacer.....if you have any thoughts on that...would love to hear them! We appreciate you - CK & CG.
@@CaliKim29 I've lined my entire fenceline with emerald green arborvitae so I'm not the best fence expert CK, I was brainstorming because of your very sudden emergency situation. BTW I think arborvitae would look great in that spot and they're very low maintenance, one feeding in spring and fall, they're an excellent wind break. I trim the tops flat every other year and remove dead interior needles every spring, gorgeous as a fence hedge. I can tell you though at my prior house I had a fence like you described but mine shook anyways, the prior owner didn't sink the posts down far enough. And of course wood eventually breaks down, hence my arborvitae choice at my current house. Some people say arborvitae are overused but I think they're beautiful, especially the emerald green.
But my constantly tinkering DIY mind thinks there must be a way for Jerry to maybe install some of the fence slates with thru bolts, maybe selected areas (or all), instead of nailing or screwing them in. That way they could be removed easily by unscrewing the bolts and removing/reinstalling the slats on a needs basis. I'd probably overdo it (as I always do) and install rubber bolt gaskets so the wood is protected from moisture after drilling your bolt holes. How this would affect the integrity of the fence, I'm not sure. The guys who sold you your really sharp looking patio deck fence will know what will work best for your area. Sorry for the long reply, once I start typing I can yammer forever. Keep those videos coming, give Mac some scratchies for me!
🐕 loves the new area 👏
Yes, he does!! Thanks, Rocky - hope all is well with you -
@CaliKim29 Thank you. You as well. I purchased the heating mat you suggested. It should help germinate eggplants that I have had issues in the past.
Looks beautiful.
Great job.
Awww, Thanks - Kim
This is looking good and always learning with you, Kim you look and sound so excited 😊 CG well done and great tips but most of all hands on projects 💯 Mac you definitely are the star ⭐️ of the show ❤❤❤❤❤
Great video, well done guys 👌
Thank you! 👍 CK
Very nice! Loving it!❤
Don’t suppose that the tile company makes rounded corner tiles to round off the corners? If, not, too bad they don’t. 😊
That is a great idea! Very good insights! CK
Looks awesome great job you two!! 👍
Thank you! We appreciate that! CK/CG
