Mechamaru is definitely one of the tragedies of JJK for multiple reasons, but one that doesn't get pointed out enough is how he could have benefited the world at large. Man created a battery that could hold 17 years of cursed energy and he could utilize it to perform tasks. That sort of thing could revolutionize the world. Transferring cursed energy to batteries could also help alleviate one of the problems at the core of Jujutsu Kaisen (free cursed energy coalescing into spirits) while simultaneously aiding the world.
U hear people calling Muta greedy for wanting more because he was surrounded by friends and love but who wouldn’t do what he did to feel and do things someone with a fully functioning body can do
Yup once he got his body right away he thought about giving the information up to the others. He was never against JJK or his friends but he did this for his desire to be human and be with Miwa. Kenjaku and Mahito interactions with him also made it clear they were against each other.
also while they didnt know, muta knew that he was going to try to kill geto and mahito bc of the years of cursed energy stored. I would think i could kill both of them too if i had that much power.
@@tee-p6f nah Muta was trying to get to Gojo but his communication got jammed, he wanted help. When that wasnt an option he went to plan B. Hold his own even got a bit confident he could kill them both. Unfortunately lets be real there was no way he was going to get past Kenjaku, maybe Mahito but definitely not Kenjaku.
I think kokichi's story is a great way to show the cruelty of the world of jjk that even someone as talented intelligent and well-prepared as muta can die from poor decision-making and or unforeseen factors as well as showing how much of a threat mhaito is.
It also serves as an argument against Sukuna's "be selfish and fulfill your desire, only then you'll achieve true strength" cuz he would've been super powerful with all the benefits of HR and none of the drawbacks but the path to get it was always gonna lead to his death
The crazy part is even though he still is a “traitor” no one blames him for what he did bc at the end of the day we would too if we were in the same predicament, he just wanted to live his life as kokichi, not mechamaru.
I think the big thing that helps his case is that he immediately planned to take out the curses he was working with himself. He wasn't morally aligned with them, quite the opposite, and had every intention of cleaning up the mess he'd helped to make on his own once he had a body that could keep up, effectively preventing the Shibuya Incident altogether.
Mechamaru is easily my favorite character in JJK from an aspect of relatability, and understanding his mindset. I was super sickly when I was younger needing to be in the hospital pretty frequently. And I built up a wall for a while because of that. Seeing just how bad his situation was when we got the reveal of his real body just made him even more badass to me. I also loved how he was (lightly) taken advantage of by his friends due to his naivety in a sadly humorous way, and then not so lightly when the same happens dealing with the villians of the series. Making him ironically look the most human. It was short but really fulfilling arc for my robot bro. It's sad he couldn't have more time to express how he felt to Miwa, but he went out protecting those special to him. Which in JJK is the heart of what makes the series great.
Kokichi has almost the exact same story as Robot from Invincible. Born deformed and unable to function outside a mechanical puppet. Though in Invincible Robot actually wins the fight.

@@Insouciant_Lyfê ok Mai wasn't, she was nothing but a plot tool, literally. Very little characterization besides to prop Maki further. And poor Noritoshi, Choso outshined him rq. Even when paired with Maki he couldnt do much. I question Momo and Miwa existence really. Wonderful characters but had little panel time. Not much time was spent on Utahimes other weaker students.
Kyoto students suffer a lot from being students of the "other" school, meaning that Gege naturally never seemed to care that much about them, except for Todo who luckily pretty much fought his way into the main cast lol (unfortunately he's been sidelined really badly later on) Kokichi at least got a complete arc over the Goodwill event and Shibuya and made quite a name for himself in the fandom, Miwa who's tied with him is really great from character standpoint but it seems like in her case Gege literally forgot to finish her story And the others, ekhm. Kamo is literally just sort of there, Momo hasn't been able to do anything, Mai was just a plot device and Arata...yeah, that guy is most likely never showing up again. Individually they are all pretty fun and s few scenes we got of them were enjoyable. But by this point it seems like only Todo and maybe Miwa will be able to bring anything important to the endgame

All of his designs are some of my favorite in the series. The robot is just a fantastic design, his bandage form is neat and he looks really really cool with his new body, the scar is one of my favorite parts.
Learn how to read. Mahito didnt bypass anything. Kokichi's bodily function was traded for all the benefits regarding sorcery. Mahito just made his body better after the trade.
Mahito just changed his soul's shape and that in turn resulted in his bodily changed. Think of it as moulding a clay, you're not changing it's properties but shape.
Mother of god, I know you had to do it on purpose. That opening 6 seconds of "You're Not There" from Silent Hill 3 is a perfect encapsulation of Kokichi Muta. Absolute genius.
Kokichi could have been a game changer in the long run. We are talking about a complete set of curse technology, he not only already the teorics down, he already had at least some functional tech outside of his own technique. Just imagine... Panda's own secret of how they are independent is considered a special grade one, because of the possibility of of making a self sufficient cursed corpse army that could even have its own techniques. Kokichi could have opened immense possibilities, juryoku is unyield but it is extremely powerful and it can easily power physics defying properties, if those could be harnessed... we talking about complete technological evolution. But at the same time... if that fell in the wrong hands... we talking about a complete overturn of human right, something that can very well happen because of Kenjaku spilling the beans about jujutsu to other countries governments... i hope he doesn't have any of Kokichi's tech after his death.
So, I actually have a fun detail that only occured to me recently! Minor Danganronpa 2 spoilers below. The character Nekomaru Nidai from DR2 attempts to have a hand to hand duel with Monokuma before he gets to really come into his own (Very reminiciscent of Panda vs. Mechamaru) And as a result of that battle you get to learn a lot about him, but not without him becoming a full robot, hence the name Mechamaru. This mirrors Kokichi's own transformation into a full person from what the audience only knows as a robot. Later even using a small character named Minimaru, similar to the communication mechamarus shown later. MaJor spoilers for DR2 AND minor for JJK Similarly though they both found their undoing to a person who would agree to duel them, dying in a final stand for the sake of others. Ironically, Nekomaru dying TO a chuuni loner with a princess lover, and Kokichi Muta BEING a chuuni loner with a working class lover lol. Whether any of that is intentional or coincidence, it was a recent and familiar usage of Mechamaru as a name.
I love this character, if you think he could've been happy as he was, his story becomes really tragic, losing everything he had in a spur of... maybe not greed, but desperation and "weakness", like he himself says. But, if you believe he wouldn't be able to live freely in his tub, like everyone who thinks his relationship with Miwa is weird, then you'd be proving him right in that he could never live a fullfiling life with that body.
When u think about it. Gojo's death,Culling Games,Sukuna taking megumi's body, Most of shibuya as a whole could've been prevended if mahito didn't want to kill mechamaru or Kenjaku not placing a veil and maybe if he let others in the loop. SO he could get back up against mahito
Am I the only person who noticed that Kokichi scar is missing in the panel with Miwa on the plane? Does lack of the scar represent him getting finally healing that inner hatred?
The name Mechamaru could be a reference to Danganronpa, as in the second game’s 4th chapter, the character Nekomaru was turned into a robot and one of his friends gave him the nickname Mechamaru.
Mechamaru had the power to operate on special grade levels of strength at his peak. We all know he has 17 years of cursed energy, but lets stop and think about this. not everyone has the same amount of cursed energy. The difference between say, miwa and yuta is like the difference between a pebble and a mountain. Due to his heavenly restriction we can safely assume that kokichi is closer to the mountain range. I'd argue he had base cursed energy levels close to people like ryu. Think about that. The giant robot was blasting off years worth of ryu levels of energy. A cursed spirit like hanami, dagon, or jogo getting hit would likely die in one or two blasts
Theres an aspect of his designs that isnt discussed here. The whole "fragile skin" and living in a bath down underground is clear inspirstion from that one french revolution writer who lived in a bath in the sewers wrapped in bandages cuz his skin was too fucked up by toxic chemicals to whistand the light
Bro literally had theoretically the strongest curse technique in the series, hear me out: Problem 1- cursed technique efficiency: Mechamaru wasted his cursed energy efficiency by simply cannon blasting pure cursed energy beams, thus explaining why YEARS of his cursed energy reserve were wasted like garbage, mechamaru just didn't care at that point Solution to problem 1- Yorozu mentioned that bugs can be highly efficient in using cursed energy, and one of her strongest attacks was a bug armor that physically overwhelmed even sukuna, utahime mentioned that mechamaru can probably make mosquito sized mechs, so it wouldn't be out of the question that mechamaru can make bug mechs of different sizes + theoretically they wouldn't be manned by a human, thus increasing efficiency, theoretically, if mechamaru focused on efficiency to reach optimization, i think he'd reach gojo/sukuna levels of cursed energy efficiency, thus becoming a non stop fighting machine Problem 2- information: Mechamaru could collect information like it's nothing apparently, so he'd probably have been capable of spying even more information, maybe then he'd have learned panda's secret, or played a bigger more effective supporting role like he did in yuji vs choso Problem 3- simple domain: If he can contain simple domain in capsules, why didn't he stock up on more? I wouldn't imagine he wasted energy on making them
Mechamaru has even more similarities with Robot from invincible, it would be cool if gege took inspiration from a lesser known western media than iron man
My only question is, why when making a binding vow with Kenjaku and Mahito, did he not include a clause to leave safely with his life and health intact? Could he not in theory make that part of the deal, if neither side is able to break once the deal is struck?
Oddly enough everything is his fault if he didn’t do what he did the story would have never gotten so bad but at the same time u can’t help but feel for someone who just wants to be able to give physical affection to those who made his life worth living
The Memetics here are off the charts Incredible Vibe Comically Beautiful experience Still, the writing decisions feel’s fairly pitiful; wasting His character’s potential Like being perfectly setup to be more interesting and then just “Ope, He’s gone” Perhaps Living with it like the alone survivor I assumed he would continue on as could be better The embodiment of the remembered Kyoto class that wouldn’t be lost until atleast the next arc Feel’s like it could just be checking off the list to get rid of Kyoto And if that’s more true; Boring
I'm not even sure if you keep up with One Piece but if you do I think you should do a Building a Bastard video on Spandam the absolute bastard and bane of Nico Robin's life up until the end of Enies Lobby.
So just because he helped out his fellow Sorcerers in the early part of the Shibuya incident and died doing so, that redeems him despite the fact that he betrayed them for a new body?
Well I feel like pretty much anyone would do the same thing because he did not want a useless body that can't even walk. he was born with it Does anyone want to live in a tub with medical equipment attached to them for the rest of their life and having limbs That are basically useless
No but one can understand why he did it. Hes human afterall, humans make mistakes especially when they are driven into a corner. Once he got his body back he wanted to be a JJK sorcerer and leak the information he got from Kenjaku to Gojo being sealed. To put it simply he wasnt against JJTech but he did it to end his own suffering.

@@Insouciant_Lyfê ok Mai wasn't, she was nothing but a plot tool, literally. Very little characterization besides to prop Maki further. And poor Noritoshi, Choso outshined him rq. There is no way Noritoshi can reach the level of Choso who uses a similar if not the same technique and is a curse object meaning already stronger than Noritoshis rank. Even when paired with Maki he couldnt do much.
I question Momo and Miwa existence really. Wonderful characters but had little panel time. Not much time was spent on Utahimes other weaker students.
Kyoto students suffer a lot from being students of the "other" school, meaning that Gege naturally never seemed to care that much about them, except for Todo who luckily pretty much fought his way into the main cast lol (unfortunately he's been sidelined really badly later on)
Kokichi at least got a complete arc over the Goodwill event and Shibuya and made quite a name for himself in the fandom, Miwa who's tied with him is really great from character standpoint but it seems like in her case Gege literally forgot to finish her story
And the others, ekhm.
Honestly im not mad at anything muta did. Bro if i was born like him i doubt i could survive a single month in that boy im switching up fast
Seeing all these Kamen Rider references makes me hope you do a video on one of them one day
surprising that the robot guy from invincible wasn’t mentioned at all considering they pretty much have the same origin story
They are the same in the sense that they’re both crippled and want a better life. That’s about it lol
@@capellozapellini6074 And use robots to interact with their friends. They're quite literally identical. There's definitely a bigger connection than just Iron Man really.
Yea, natural body that is literal hell. Uses machines to communicate with the outside world. Granted a brand new body. Has a massive robot as well. Tbh that’s about it but you get the idea.
@@sleepywalker87The robots even looks really similar. Brown/copper colors with green eyes. It’s pretty obviously an homage.
All of his designs are some of my favorite in the series. The robot is just a fantastic design, his bandage form is neat and he looks really really cool with his new body, the scar is one of my favorite parts.
Mechamaru's face also looks like EVA Unit 01's face without the helmet as seen in the anime after the Zeruel fight when it ate the S2 Engine.
How is it that Mahito is able to bypass the drawbacks of a Heavenly restriction while leaving all the benefits completely intact
Learn how to read. Mahito didnt bypass anything. Kokichi's bodily function was traded for all the benefits regarding sorcery. Mahito just made his body better after the trade.
@@Tyler_Frenzydamn that was too much
Mahito just changed his soul's shape and that in turn resulted in his bodily changed. Think of it as moulding a clay, you're not changing it's properties but shape.
Mother of god, I know you had to do it on purpose. That opening 6 seconds of "You're Not There" from Silent Hill 3 is a perfect encapsulation of Kokichi Muta. Absolute genius.
If only he saw gojo use hollow purple once he Mightve been able to live
Someone really enjoyed Geats
Akutami could have also taken inspiration for Mechamaru's story from Invincible's Robot.
Gotta say that I loved this guy from the brief moment we got to spend with him
Is it just me or does no one bring up how similar his usage of his mechamaru's are to Robot from Invincible?
If Kokichi knew Yuta then he could've helped him take out Mahito and let Yuta copy Mahito's technique to fix his restriction.
MaJor spoilers for DR2 AND minor for JJK
Similarly though they both found their undoing to a person who would agree to duel them, dying in a final stand for the sake of others. Ironically, Nekomaru dying TO a chuuni loner with a princess lover, and Kokichi Muta BEING a chuuni loner with a working class lover lol.
Whether any of that is intentional or coincidence, it was a recent and familiar usage of Mechamaru as a name.
OH YEAH! And its a universal naming scheme that almost every(?) character in Danganronpa is an "Ultimate" something lol
He was my favorite character I would've love to him grow more he would've been so great for the Shibuya arc
He would've destroyed in the Culling Games.
@@ilovecody75141000%
I love this character, if you think he could've been happy as he was, his story becomes really tragic, losing everything he had in a spur of... maybe not greed, but desperation and "weakness", like he himself says.
But, if you believe he wouldn't be able to live freely in his tub, like everyone who thinks his relationship with Miwa is weird, then you'd be proving him right in that he could never live a fullfiling life with that body.
OPENING TO THE VIDEO KAMEN RIDER GEATS MENTIONED LETS GO
Mannn he couldn't even used all the stored energy
Just realized he looked like makoto shishio
HEAVENLY RESTRICTED INDIVIDUAL
When u think about it. Gojo's death,Culling Games,Sukuna taking megumi's body, Most of shibuya as a whole could've been prevended if mahito didn't want to kill mechamaru or Kenjaku not placing a veil and maybe if he let others in the loop. SO he could get back up against mahito
Am I the only person who noticed that Kokichi scar is missing in the panel with Miwa on the plane? Does lack of the scar represent him getting finally healing that inner hatred?
The dark tragic sorcerer version of Ironman.
The name Mechamaru could be a reference to Danganronpa, as in the second game’s 4th chapter, the character Nekomaru was turned into a robot and one of his friends gave him the nickname Mechamaru.
Kokichi: I was born with glass bones and paper skin 😥
I just wanna know where he got the materials to build a GIANT ROBOT and how he did it in complete secrecy.
I won't lie, I forgot that Mechamaru wasn't his actual name lmao
I’m here learning he has an actual name 😂😂
Hope he gets a spot in Cursed Clash (prob as Dlc)
Ngl, i just took a glance at the thumbnail and thought it was makoto shishio from rurouni kenshin
First time i've been this early. nice
bro seems like someone's been watching geats
edit: Bro i just finished watching the video and you also put rogue in there
Bro literally had theoretically the strongest curse technique in the series, hear me out:
Problem 1- cursed technique efficiency:
Mechamaru wasted his cursed energy efficiency by simply cannon blasting pure cursed energy beams, thus explaining why YEARS of his cursed energy reserve were wasted like garbage, mechamaru just didn't care at that point
Solution to problem 1-
Yorozu mentioned that bugs can be highly efficient in using cursed energy, and one of her strongest attacks was a bug armor that physically overwhelmed even sukuna, utahime mentioned that mechamaru can probably make mosquito sized mechs, so it wouldn't be out of the question that mechamaru can make bug mechs of different sizes + theoretically they wouldn't be manned by a human, thus increasing efficiency, theoretically, if mechamaru focused on efficiency to reach optimization, i think he'd reach gojo/sukuna levels of cursed energy efficiency, thus becoming a non stop fighting machine
Problem 2- information:
Mechamaru could collect information like it's nothing apparently, so he'd probably have been capable of spying even more information, maybe then he'd have learned panda's secret, or played a bigger more effective supporting role like he did in yuji vs choso
Problem 3- simple domain:
If he can contain simple domain in capsules, why didn't he stock up on more? I wouldn't imagine he wasted energy on making them
I know we’re all watching for Jujutsu Kaisen but was that a clip from Kamen Rider at the beginning?!
Mechamaru has even more similarities with Robot from invincible, it would be cool if gege took inspiration from a lesser known western media than iron man
I found this by accident so early 😅😂
At first I thought you made a video about Shishio.
I always thought Mechamaru reminded me of Robot from Invincible, in terms of design, abilities and use
Am I the only one who thinks Absolute Mechamaru looks like Rika?
he is just robot from Invincible comics
He is probably jjk's most tragic character.
Did junpai mean nothong to you
I mean Muta was born with overly sensitive skin one arm and no dick
He meant everything to me. But at least he had his mom. Kokichi didn't have anyone.
Ultimate Mechamaru reminds me of fockin Robo-Ky from Guilty Gear
So if you put pain and konkonkuro together you get mechamaru
Hey, a suggestion for the next video, Puss in boats and it’s characters
I hope meti will do a kamen rider analysis
Gentoku at the end of the video 😂
then yuji killed him after getting turned into locust mutant
Amazing video as usual but please make common rider character breakdown videos please🙏
Damn can we get a kamen rider video soon
My only question is, why when making a binding vow with Kenjaku and Mahito, did he not include a clause to leave safely with his life and health intact? Could he not in theory make that part of the deal, if neither side is able to break once the deal is struck?
Nice
Oddly enough everything is his fault if he didn’t do what he did the story would have never gotten so bad but at the same time u can’t help but feel for someone who just wants to be able to give physical affection to those who made his life worth living
But then they also wouldnt have known about Shibuya
I'm seeing Pain
Maybe not the mecha guy
isnt his robot name a danganronpa reference?
Meti just does not miss
The Memetics here are off the charts
Incredible Vibe
Comically Beautiful experience
Still, the writing decisions feel’s fairly pitiful; wasting His character’s potential
Like being perfectly setup to be more interesting and then just “Ope, He’s gone”
Perhaps Living with it like the alone survivor I assumed he would continue on as could be better
The embodiment of the remembered Kyoto class that wouldn’t be lost until atleast the next arc
Feel’s like it could just be checking off the list to get rid of Kyoto
And if that’s more true; Boring
I'm not even sure if you keep up with One Piece but if you do I think you should do a Building a Bastard video on Spandam the absolute bastard and bane of Nico Robin's life up until the end of Enies Lobby.
first 10 seconds and i already saw Kamen rider Geats reference
Meti bro plese make some videos related to Kamen Rider
If only they gave him a gf😢.Bro is crippled and alone.jjk society is so strong.
I mean, it's not like he pulled off a Griffith to get a new body
So I think he kinda redeemed himself
Deff not
You're judging a kid for wanting to not be in a constant state of suffering?
Hmm you should do killing bites or mato seihei no slave(got rebrand as chained soldier🤢🤣🤡)
3:29 I thought he copied speed of sound sonic from opm
Ay kamen rider geats
YES YES YES YES YES YES
Can you do megumi next time you do a jjk video please
