Tarte made a mistake thinking that darker shades don’t sell. Think of how many dark shades Fenty sold when people said there was no demand for it.
Ginny D and think of all the backlash other companies got when they did release darker shades because they were,” copying Fenty”. It’s a battle that can’t be won. Don’t make the shades? Your racist. Make the shades? Your a copy cat.
Miranda McDaniel I get what you're saying but I'd rather be a copycat than not inclusive. Also, Fenty Beauty only came out a few months ago. For a product to launch, plans and tests/trials will occurs months or maybe even years before. So I would say that they literally couldn't give a shit about other skin tones. And if it was a genuine mistake - then they stupid lol
Why do people always compare X brand (Tarte, L'Oreal, enything else) to Fenty? Fenty wasn't the first to do a wide shade range. It was made YEARS ago by other brands.

The beauty blender thing - I tend to find that when I first use a brand new beauty blender or sponge in general it’s always more dense than the old one but after a few uses it softens up!! Xx
Thank you for being honest and supporting people of all skin colours. I was extremely pissed off when I recently watched a QandA video of one of the Polish major beauty youtubers and she said she DOES NOT GET THE ISSUE. I am SO angry with Tarte for the shade range, no matter what my nationality or skin colour is...

If your smile lines really bother you Soph, Use the rcma powder and bake the smile lines for a good 5 mins with a really thick layer of powder I promise it’ll work, mine are the same💁🏼♀️ also I find when I get new beauty blenders they always feel more dense but after using a bit they get softer and go back to ‘normal’ I don’t think they’ve changed!Xx

I had the same with my beauty blender! I then switched to the real techniques one and have just been trying out the eco tools one which I love! I would love to see a review on the too faced peaches and cream foundation - it seems to have got good reviews and is also cheaper but also a far more extensive shade range than tarte. Thanks for always giving your honest thoughts! 💕💕
Soph, they haven't changed the pink beauty blender, it just loses its colour and begins to break down, making it softer, the more you use it. 😂
Honestly I'm boycotting Tarte after their B.S. statement to PopSugar about how the reason they launched the lighter shades first is because we tend to be lighter in the winter. Leaving out the fact that many people stay dark year round. Plus the hydrating formula is just the hybrid gel foundation( that Ulta puts on sale all the time) repackaged.

I also have super oily skin, i find the best way to stop the oil coming through my foundation is to bake with a damp sponge on my t-zone, it really helps!! xx

Soph have you tried the Ben Nye natural set no colour powder? I’m super oily and used to use Rimmel matte powder for so long but my foundation would still never feel 100% set and I’d have to re-powder so much thought out the day! But the Ben Nye was a deal breaker I never have to re apply powder and I can touch my face with no product coming off at all! I rate it to everyone! Only £7.99 aswell

I don't know if you do this or not, but I saw Jackie Aina do this the other day and it reminded me of you: she basically fills her mouth with air like a puffer fish and then bakes her smile lines. It probably wouldn't solve the issue but I'm thinking it would help the foundation to not collect as much.

Please do a half and half with the maybelline superstay. I want to try the tarte but if maybelline is just as good I'll stick with that 💗
I don't know if Soph will see this but even so it will help others out! To remove stains from your beauty blender, boil a kettle, pour some water into a mug (not a lot, maybe about a quarter of the mug you use), add washing up liquid and then put it in the microwave from 30-90 seconds. If your microwave is on a high voltage then I suggest putting it in for 30 seconds. You have to watch the microwave as the water might start to pour over and some beauty blenders can burst if you leave it in for too long so just be careful! But yeah, that's how to clean and sanitise your beauty blender! ♥

Personally I won't be buying this foundation - if tarte can't produce darker shades then how innovative or thoughtful are they really? Fenty is similarly priced and actually cheaper to get here in Australia due to shipping and handling, and they had no problem whatsoever bringing out a wide shade range on launch as a foundation line should. I also saw that they just repackaged their gel foundation as the hydrating shape tape foundation, with exactly the same ingredients in the same order, and discontinued that one as soon as the shape tape foundation came out. It's just a mess. I can't support a company that actively ignores a whole group of people, or who think bringing out a few extra shades as an afterthought is enough to appease.

Maybe the beautyblender thing is because of the color, because they change them a little bit when the color is different, if you know what i mean, like the Black is different to the original pink and the nude is different too

I feel like there is a before and after since Fenty Beauty released heir 40 shades foundation. After that a few more companies started realising foundation lines with, not 40, but 30 or something shades. And also now people is voicing the problem of the lack of dark shades a lot more. Like, the shade range of the Tarte Shape tape is almost the same as in this foundation and I didn't hear anyone saying anything about that at the time, and the same goes to a lot more foundations and companies. I feel like now we are less forgiven, but in a good way, for a good cause. Cause if people (and big youtubers) don't complain companies won't feel the pressure to make shades for everybody.
I noticed the same thing! Which is why it was so confusing to see tarte launch such a limited shade range. Beauty companies aren't deaf to this kind of controversy, and I don't know why tarte thought they could slip under the radar when everybody made it clear that a full shade range was the way to go and consumers wouldn't tolerate anything less.
I get why fenty was so great but I think people forget that there are companies out there that have been releasing foundations in a wide shade range for years. I'm not saying the bad ones shouldn't be called out just that companies like Mac should be just as talked about for shade range as fenty.
Christy Fielding I know. For some reason those foundations from MAC, Makeup forever, and other didn't make such an impact as Fenty Beauty. Maybe it was the Rihanna effect, Idk, or maybe times have changed and now people think of those things more than before? Idk
I believe, we are less forgiven in a bad way. You know, there are no such real problems as millions of refugees, wars, tyrants, expensive healthcare, shitty ecology, fake news, etc. in the world. No, there's only one problem which is a lack of foundation colour shades!

I can understand the whole thing with the price but I use the Marc jacobs one (£37) and honestly I haven’t looked back at all. My face does not like drug store foundation at all (and I’ve tried a lot) but for some reason my face loves the high end foundations (sucks because I have to spend so much money) so i definitely want to try this one out
