Great demonstration, Trudy! You mentioned trying to get your avatar as close as possible to the intended body shape/size for the pattern... I use a phone app to scan my fit models and then use them in CLO. I also have a business of 3D-printing the physical body forms for real life fittings.

@PaTTernHAck Amazing! This is super cool, I would love to know more!
I've tried True to Form, they were actually very helpful in converting an OBJ that I already had scanned into an avatar for me, however its still not perfect, since my body scan wasn't perfect to begin with. I don't have an iphone, so I could not use their app for scanning though.

Okay yes! I also came to this conclusion that pattern cutting is the best method. Do you have any recommendations for developing cupped patterns. I haven’t come across a proper patternmaking book or tutorial that explains how to correct the cup shape for underwire as well as planning for compression for bras, bustier, corsets.

I dropped a link to a book I recommend the comments :) Its a good starting point, but then refining fitting and pattern manipulation skills takes some practice. I love using Clo for this because you can try out many different ideas and test them before going cutting the physical sample.
