I appreciate that filming with cine film was expensive and that the film reel only lasted for three minutes each, I think that the quality of this camera work is appalling. Much too much panning, trying to get the maximum amount of coverage into the minimum amount of film. it is painful to watch, but with a small bit of skill could have been very good. needless to say whoever filmed it would never make a living as a camera man!

Thank you for your response to the film posting...just as background for this film I should tell you that it was shot by my Uncle on a trip to Ireland back in the 1960's time frame. Unfortunately my Uncle passed away many years ago so I can only pass along your comments in my prayers. I do agree with your comments however, but the film was put on line with the main intent of providing some insight into the lives of my Irish ancestors for the rest of my family to observe. Although single frame resolution is very poor one can pause the video at frames of particular interest and examine the image to absorb additional items of interest.

Unfortunately people still pan too fast nowadays too! My biggest peeve nowadays though is filming on a smartphone in portrait mode instead of landscape. I was filmed by American tourists visiting a neighbour when we were children. I would love to see that footage now.

Is that the old National school in Inniskeen at 2.31? Went to school there in the late 50s.. Mr Duffy was principal, and Ms Ó Carroll (?) one of the teachers.. I left c1960 after the railway closed.. my dad Terry Kirk was the last Station Master there..
