Great video. I last visited Keady in 1954. The fairs had gone by then but I remember the old folk talking about them. They were the highlight of the calendar for my Dad who was born in Darkley. Had my first Guinness in Keady. Happy memories.
The Man in the bowler hat is Thomas Mallon Butcher and Auctioneer he lived at 1 Victoria Street where Rices Petrol Station is now. He bought cattle for the shop and other butchers. He is Charlie Mallons father of the picture houses father.
Just to advise, The monument isn't actually in the square but up on Kinelowen Street. It would be directly behind the larger building with the tower (The Market House) at 3.13 . From 1.12 the shot is looking across the square from where rices is now towards the entry beside the Caledonian. As the camera pans to the right a man can be seen going into what was then Short's bar and later became The Caledonian . The Market ection is in The Square outside the bar and around onto Bridge St
