- We're doing a small speed build challenge, attempting to build a realistic-looking small city from scratch, complete with a thriving mixed-density downtown, a big container shipping port with a coal power plant and advanced water treatment and pumping facilities, a pharmaceutical factory, a commercial strip mall, and of course lots of cozy tree-rich family-friendly neighborhoods! Hope you enjoy!

It's been nice to see your "subscribed viewers" percentage has been creeping upwards with each CS2 video you release, you definitely deserve to have more subs, one of my favourite CS2 channels to watch!
That’s one of my favorite moments in every single new video! Almost like a game at this point to check and compare with the last one.
Looking forward for it to go down to 50% and well beyond!
Infrastructurist is a great Counter Strike 2 youtube channel
I think it is that the actual views have went down, not that more people necessarily subscribe
Thank you Koletha! ☺
@@Infrastructurist detail work is really cool and interesting simulator
in terms of North American development, I grew up in a rural/suburban town a half-hour drive from a medium-sized city. when I brought my gf (from NYC) to visit, she commented that it looked like someone took a region of gentle grassy hills and small patches of forest, and just sprinkled random houses and small farms all over it.
it’s quaint and charming, and nice to have all the greenery, but at the same time it’s not very pedestrian-friendly - there are sidewalks along the main roads, but when you try walking around it almost feels like you’re committing some crime haha
I guess it’s time for me to start using developer mode. Those parks look so much better after you’re done!
I made coffee, sat down and checked if you uploaded a Sunday video. I was not disappointed. Great content as always Infra! You truly are an artist in CS!
Thank you danonck, much appreciated as always from you! ☺
Wooop woop
Woopppp
You make the game more realistic by adding life and colors to it. I appreciate the work done: we look at the speed in half an hour, and you spent the whole day.
You're one of my favourite CS creators! I spent 4.5 years living in Denmark recently and loved it. Density is a necessary thing when you're geographically small I guess. One of the things I noticed early living in DK was you never feel very far from civilisation. I come from New Zealand and there's just massive stretches of land that feel very isolated - didn't have that feeling for 4.5 years!
I usually stop watching content when I stop playing a game. But I haven't played Cities (1 or 2) in years, yet I watch pretty much every video you make. A testament to how great you are at what you do!
Everytime I see the way you play CS2, I get inspired alot and it makes me play the game instantly
Keep up the good work,
All Love
Nice map! Glad to see some custom maps popping up!
Love the build. Specially those island neighborhoods, makes it seem like upper class homes. Not many CSII builds have so much greenery! Love what you did here!
I have been watching your videos since late into city skylines 1.. subscribed recently as I was one of those people who watched while not subscribed. I rarely leave comments, but I just want you to know that your cities are beautiful and your content is perfect after a long day at work. I wish you future success and look forward to seeing more content from you ❤
The only thing I notice is that you cross a lot of roads with the railroads. I guess sometimes it's unavoidable, but most cities would try to separate those two as much as possible.
The surface painter tool is such a game changer. It's going to be amazing once we have custom pavement/ground textures as well.
OMG This is amazing! I love this! It's almost like a live stream timelapsed into 30 mins without any chat back and forth! More of This Whener you want a break from a series!
Hello infrastrukturist! I just wanted to say that I love your content and now I'm a part of the Neighbourhood watch also. Keep it up my guy!
I have been obsessed with your content of CS2! Would you like to do a fully sustainable city sometime? Would love to see how that is achieved, more 'modern' and eco-friendly! Thanks for all the videos!
Altid fedt når du uploader, så der noget at se, når man laver sin Cardio i Fitnesscenteret 👍
Love this! Awesome man great skills.
You are an absolute amazing player of CS games, I discovered you on the first one and it was already mindblowing ! It's a real pleasure to watch ! Can't wait to see the Riverview serie !
Dear Infrastructurist, please add the tracks and artists information playing in the background during time-lapses.
Looks like any city along the shore of the Great Lakes! Great work!
Great video as always! You've got a thing for trees though... Next challenge, realistic desert city build! :D
I love to wind down to one of your videos. Such a laid back, yet professional style to your content, not to mention how impressive your English narration is. Thanks again for the CS2 inspiration!
Same here :)
That upgrade to quay mod looks amazing, I gotta get that 😮
Enjoyed the video again, thanks.
Only there should be a sandbox mode where you can enjoy visually building your cities. No complaining about money/rent, electricity, water, endless demand for houses, etc.
Love the videos! would be cool if u build an Nordic inspired village. The once with crazy land elevations or the once that are located on big rocks or islands. Love from Sweden!
That's a great idea for a challenge, love from across the kattegat! ☺
continue with this city and make a series! It looks amazing
I just wonder if your painted surfaces will look strange once the buildings connected to them level up
Maaan, continue this series with editor mod. Your attention to detail is very cool
Simply stunning.
Excellent Challenge and excellent video! Good job!
Just wanted to say that in my opinion, you are by far the best cities skylines UA-camr! Keep it up!!!
To see you detailing is an immense pleasure. ❤ Just curious: how much playtime for this whole built?
love the vids keep it up
Your builds are always mind blowingly beautiful keep up the good content brother!
Hello, I congratulate you for your great talent in cities, I love your work and I would like to see that city in first person please, it would be great to see your serca work. Thanks and good work 👍
Loved this a lot. And the music was spot on. I feel music also makes a good video.
It’s so good to watch your videos. I cannot even get close to the fantastic stuff you do. Great work!!
Always a pleasure to watch your video and I will always repeat that because hey, it's just true 😊
Holy shit that zone painter tool is incredible.
I agree with the open residential sprawls. To me they are "roomy" and spacious. And still preserve some of the nature around the homes. We have a house in a fairly tight (close together) neighborhood, it's on a cul-de-sac around the corner from a school, but it has this massive Live Oak in the front yard that has been there at least 20 years before the house was built, which was in '68. It is nice when developers do what they can to preserve some of the nature within a development. My parents got the house in the late 80's and the house was about 20 yo then, and the tree was estimated to be at least 40-50 yo in '89. I see that a lot around here, with houses much older, and a few newer developments in town since.
Really great content of cities 2, greetings from argentina !
The surface tool of the developerMode is awesome, however I would not use it to go so into detail for low level buildings... as they level up, they will change appearance and base shape, especially resident buildings get bigger... so all the groundwork details might look weird then. But you can place lvl 5 buildings anyway and go from there :)
Give this man some dirt decals!
It's nice that CS has two new maps.. too bad you'll never be able to build them out!
Awesome!
Шикарно смотрится работа с режимом разработчика, надо будет тоже попробовать
Still think what the game needs is several "scenario" starters.. I know we have mods to unlock things in a more natural way from a "why this city started" stand point. But being forced to unlock all when you want to start a farming town, or a town that popped up because of the mining industry or a harbor town? A town that popped up because of it being on the train route or even a town based on tourism from the get go.
I really do hope we see modifications to specialized industry to be closer to Cities 1 eventual "industrial parks" style
You know, I was wondering why I only saw your videos periodically even though I really enjoy your main CS2 videos, I wasnt subbed. Now I am.
Tænker at grunden til at danske forstæder ikke har gamle træer, er fordi at det var marker😊
Superbe ! Merci !
while it is pretty uncommon to have stuff like a train station in place before the rest of the town, its not unheard of, its just a transit-oriented development
and i hope it becomes less rare :P
Awesome.
This is mesmerising to watch. Excuse my ignorance because I'm new to CS2. What's that objects list on the right that allows you to fine tune everything on detail?
That's a great build fella. I find using the sand to fill in at and around the rail station works really nicely too. One thing that's just come to me though is: what happens to the surfaces we pull about from an asset when that asset levels up? I've extended/reshaped asset surfaces like you but I've been so busy making new maps that I don't think I've checked my actual builds to see!
ASMR like ! As always !
Drink a shot everytime Infrastructurist says "a bit of character"
I envy your use of the Ducks In A Row tool, I can't get it to work 😢
This definitely feels like the most CS1 CS2 city I've seen so far, if you know what I mean.
great video and absolutely beautiful town. i just wished they would give the assets some usage. so dissapointing that, for example, the stadium is always empty or no one using tennis courts etc
Would love for the surface painter feature to be in game for when this comes to consoles but I highly unfortunately doubt it
Hey that subscriber count is definitely moving in the right direction though eh? :)
OMG how cool! I hope nothing happens to America before tht happens 😂😂😂
Liked and Subscribed! 🙂
will you ever go back to coniferia?
Do you know how you can remove building extensions without having to tear down the entire building complex and rebuild it? And is it possible that the buildings in the residental and commercial zones will be upgrated? Can this be prevented or controlled?
Could you let me know about using the dev mode? What we should do and what shouldn't to not get our save game broken. I guess you know where the limit at which you can get in trouble.
The gameplay is great... But your music selection is just awesome! 12:00 could you share the name of the song please?
This is cool.. now make the game 29.99 and I'll try it.
A lot of the urban sprawl is because of the wide open spaces as it were, and until the Great depression most of the population lived on farms.
what i find weird is that american homes in this game dont have trees in them, just some bushes... in my front and back yard there are multiple giant trees... not having trees in the yard makes everything feel empty and new... it would be nice if they added trees to those assets, old american suburbs are full of trees and look like a forest from above
build those homes on the water private docks
Hey Infrastructurist love the video, but I do have a question. When i try and use developer mode "--developerMode" in launch options, it works fine in game. However, once I close it and try and press home again, it doesn't come back up. Wondering if you had this issue and/ or if you know how to fix it?
How do you get the quay option for the roads in the docks?
Hey! Just wanted to get in touch to let you know I really like your videos and would like to hit you up to show you a new tactic for making stroads! I found a really great realistic way to make American style stroads with turn pockets for stroad intersections. Let me know if you’re interested, I can send you proof of concept.
how do i get those extra road service tool?? Like the one used to make that artificial harber 3:13
I see you spawn train cars with developer mode, but you can't remove them after placing them down, correct?
Can you make a city on water!!
I can't watch past the first minute. What tool are you using to make the quay walls in the very beginning? I don't have those in my game. And I don't see a mod that does what you're doing. :::: scratches head ::::: -- NM. Found it. "Extended Road Upgrades" Nice. TY.
Sat down for my coffee and count the America insults and I find praise?
Brother, you are welcome to stay here anytime. In the countryside you can enjoy acres (sorry, "square kilometers"... I guess that sounds nicer) of private rolling forest with a brook to fish in or just sit and enjoy the sounds of nature. Right next door is a huge state forest with miles and miles of trails, preserved forever against development. I have a more modest suburban home too, if youd prefer, with direct bike access that runs the length of the state.
We can sit, barbeque, and look out over the Green Mountains, drinking the best beer on earth (made just down the road) and talk about America.
How do you use the Line Tool and the tools for the roads you used at the small harbor?
Was he using mods for general gameplay stuff here? Or did the devs add new tools?
Unfortunately I find myself speed building to about 100k even though I tell myself I’m gonna go slow, then get bored and start over and repeat lol
Same ngl
Hi!
How do you place buildings without zoning?
Hello
DaVinci Resolve
Hey man, i was wondering if you were from Denmark?
he is he said it in the video

How to build a realistic city from scratch: with unlimited funds
Yeah... Theres no old trees in Denmark basically.
whats the background music?
Am I doing something wrong? When I try build anything, I can't see everything in the background- just blurred or reddish background so I can't actually build properly especially the roads to start with.
He's using a mod to toggle the view.
@@talknight2 Do you know what do you call that mod?
too much tree 😮
How'd you already get mods etc for the new game??
I thought this was gonna be a tutorial.
Question to all folks with good knowledge of the modding....
After using the "Home" button to bring up the item menu for placing objects etc., I close the item list and I can not bring that same menu up again, unless I save and exit the game, then log back in.
Is there a walkaround for this issue, or am I doing something wrong?
Someone perhaps have a answer, and I would love to know.
Thanks in advance.
Maybe you have found out by now but if not, just hit the home key again instead of closing the window. 👍
Am I the only one who thinks this city looks like a duck 🙂
Danmark? Jeg var helt overbevist om at du var tysker😬🙈😅
I don't see the attraction with speed building. To me it seems you are just trying to get it over with. If you aren't savoring the game, why play?
Bro can you actually just bring back Riverview already
this mofo makes nice looking city. why mine always look like sopme 5 year old drew it
