After discussing with the proper authorities I have determined that this is the best version of Sugar Hill ever played, by the best band to ever play it.
The Old Time Music commissar has approved your comment.
I would like to submit the Roan Mountain Hilltoppers and the Freight Hoppers versions of Sugar Hill for consideration.
@@Onemadfiddler Thanks for the update: the RMH are outstanding! I know the Freight Hoppers version very well: I have a photo of Cary Fridley in my kitchen. David Bass, of course, is lord.
this group is excellent thank you to eu and to america for your great sound, hello from france👋
BRAVO!!! BISS
These guys are great. - a ton of good energy.
And THAT is the way it is DONE!!
Is it ever.
The song is actually "Uncle Charlie Barnett Lowe's tune". It fits well with Sugar Hill as a medley.
If you want to get you eye knocked out
If you want to get your fill
If you want to get your head cut off
Just go to sugar hill
Jay bird on the mountain top
And a red bird on the ground
Black bird in the sugar tree
Shaking that sugar down
They said she got mighty sick
And what do you recking ailed her
Drunk three quarts of sugar top
And then ther stomach failed her
Then cents in my pocket book
And don't you hear it jingle
I'm going to court them pretty gals
As long as I stay single
Yonder comes my own true love
And how do you think I know
Tell her by her shoe fly dress
That comes from sugar store
Get your banjo off the wall
Grap your fiddle, Bill
Hitch the horses to the sleigh
We're going to sugar hill
that is what I thought, they did say " if you want your head cut off"
Nadine is rockin" OUT behind Reeb! Never heard such inspired music!
Randy Raider Nadine ALWAYS rocks!! With a SMILE too...ALWAYS!! Some say it's cause she's Canadaiene...
Absolutely right. Rock on, Nadine, and all the Foghorns. This one of the best of the rockin' old time tunes. Have you watched The Freight Hoppers version?
Equally rockin'. And while we're on the subject, the " 'Greasy Coat' jam at Old Time Week at Augusta" also belongs in the Rockin' Old Time Hall of Fame.
My refrigerator is plastered with images of The Freight Hoppers, David Bass & Co. and Cary Fridley. Yes, been watching Utube of their Sugar Hills for years. Thanks!
Great version, might I add this this is Uncle Charlie Barnett's tune followed by Sugar Hill. Thanks for uploading!
Thank you i was wondering what that tune was called!
Thanks...I was wondering what that first part was...tho I knew damn sure it wasn't Sugar Hill...
Sure are an energetic group, love it !
wwoooowww
I'm airborne. Are you? Good Lord!
