I have both. The slash Maxx is hugely disappointing. My slash lcg with upgrades is way better than my slash Maxx. The Mojave 6s is way better. The Maxx suspension sucks, the awful body roll, it rolls really easy and the brake dive is so bad the chassis hits even with full preload, it thermaled on back to back 4s packs for me, the servo is super slow. The belted tires are meh. They’re hard af. They’re almost plastic they are so hard. The tread blocks are way too close for any real grip. The battery tray is max 50mm on the slash Maxx. So not many things fit in there. I prefer my slash lcg with upgrades. Does the same speed. And does pretty much everything better than the Maxx. The 6s in the slash is nowhere as linear as the vxl3s. There’s only 2 options. The Mojave 6s and the slash ultimate. The Slash Maxx is just disappointing af. People are going to notice the huge discrepancies once more of these get out there. I’d return my Slash Maxx if they would let me. It is not worth the 700$. No f’ing way. Not even close
I am changing my opinion. The Mojave 6s is way better. I now have both and there is no comparison. He mentioned the Mojave only hits 50 mph however the newer Mojave's, with the v2 black edition Spektrum system, hits 57 mph with stock gearing. The Maxx/Slash also hits 57 mph so it's a wash.
Well said . The people who hate Traxxas , most likely always will. Same with Arrma . Whatever you like , you like. I have both brands and have a lot of fun running them. Just enjoy the hobby , it’s supposed to be fun right ??!!!
I want to love Traxxas, but their prices are insane. And their suspension is just not up to par. They get a lot of people into the hobby, but seems to me they are falling behind. Yet charging customers like it's cutting edge.
I prefer Losi, i have Traxxas and Arrma, and Axial as well as boats and planes. Arrma is the most fragile of my collection. The Losi is the most durable. If the Arrmas were more dependable i would say i like them all, but i cant.
The Maxx Slash is a Cinder Block with wheels and a motor! Yeah it’s tough but it rolls at every turn, can’t land a jump and Patachutes worse than the dude from “Cocaine Bear!”
I got the 6s mojave and love it. Super tough, handles great and really fast. I just think there isn't really a comparison between the 2 tbh. I guess the traxxas guys who don't have a mojave will say the slash and the arrma guys who don't have the slash will say the mojave. I think either one will be fun to have and run. Bottom line!
I was wondering how they would compare I have the Mojave 6s & it’s definitely on the big side for it’s scale it’s darn near indestructible I’d love to have both but I’d rather have a Mojave 6s & the Fox body UDR.
700 for a truck that comes with a plastic geared servo and a crap esc right out of the box, yeah definitely go with arrma and I’ve owned both brands before arrma definitely a better deal
I agree , Traxxas need to give all the ultimate upgrades in their cars for its price . Especially cause it’s a plastic chassis with plastics drive shafts . That would definitely balance the price for me
Traxxas needs the extra money to pay their lawyers. Who needs R&D ? Just sue everyone and everything will work out in the end as long as fanboys exist. 😢
I’ll just wait for the price to go down before I get one but it does jump poorly I’m curious if it will drive better with a lighter electronics or do you think the truck to heavy to have anything else without over heating?
Hey ..... Man I just love the BMX track you used to run in seeing the Mojave clip there..... It's funny cos on the last vid there on the new maxx slash, I did think of the BMX track and wondered why you don't go there as often as it's ideal for RC. I'm really loving that new traxxas RC it looks and preforms amazing.
Hey Jaytee love your work. I've had my e revo 2.0 for 3 years. I'm not a full send too the moon type of basher. I enjoy driving and landing normal jumps. The car has held up very well. I still have stock electrics and even the original servos are holding up. I understand the sledge is way more durable but Is it worth upgrading to the sledge considering I'm not a full send basher and enjoy my e revo 2.0. Thanks.
Right off the bat, before any practical comparisons, I like how the Mojave is correctly scaled at 1/7th scale, and not only that, it's an EXTREMELY accurate 1/7th scale with a proportionally longer (and IMO better) wheelbase than other SCTs regardless of the named/applied scale.
I was JUST asked this question 10 minutes ago. I never drove the 6S version but then your video just appeared so I linked it to them on RC Anything on Facebook. lol Also, I did get 60MPH box stock on my Maxx Slash with the Traxxas batteries and with the Power Hobby batteries.
I think the maxx slash is a great truck.... So is the Mojave. Maxx slash for hard bashing, Mojave for less aggressive bashing... How i think of it anyways.
@@Shellzwick depends on the basher too, you have cautious bashers and you have bashers that maximize its limits and break points and you got freak accidents. I love the Traxxas brand and have been buying their vehicles for at least 20 years. specifically love the fortec all the 10 scales and the 10 scale krawler lines, have multiples of all those. That said I do not feel that Trax makes very good big vehicles, compared to whats offered. I was bitterly disappointed with Maxx, and put a lot of money into that thing. I don't want the xm the mini or any other incarnation they can come up with. Too bad it's their flagship model(s)but I feel like for those types of vehicles there are better options. Hard to admit but it's the truth. in their categories the slash the stamp the rustler the 4t and the trx4 and trx6 are all undefeated champions and every other version of that type of vehicle I've had has been inferior. The maxx line is overbuilt but underperforms and for the premium they command I just don't know. Picked up a Mojave 6s on a whim today for 499, gonna be a cold day here in hell the day the maxx or MS is on sale for that, and it still inexplicably will not be six cell. Traxxas has to do better or cut prices on their large skills but I think that they count on brand loyalty to sell those and the $ is in small scale 100 percent
I'm reporting you for abuse of a defenseless RC SC truck. They're not street racers. All a speed run does is put your drive train at risk. Along with the rest of your investment.
I just got rid of the Maxx/slash. Single worst rc I ever bought. Awful vechile. Esc broke 2 weeks. Mojave, the newest one right out of the box, no gearing change, for me hit 62 mph. Maxx/slaah stock ranges between 57 mph and 60 mph.
Why you spend so much addressing haters, ill never understand. Don't look at yourself so negatively or only hear negative voices from the community, man!

The Mojave is miles better than the Maxx Slash. Traxxas missed the mark on that new Maxx Slash. Not a Traxxas hater btw, love my Xmaxx and TRX4.
Thanks for the side by side on these.
I don't mind no sway bars, but I would like to see droop screws added to the Traxxas vehicles.
You don’t mind no sway bars on a short course over droop screws 😮 that’s amazing

mojave
So glad you made this! I love both brands and would love to get both trucks but unfortunately for me, I can't have both 😅

It's not where I would put my money but the thing looks beast
Mojave 6s vs Big Rock 6s?
🤔
For me, I will take the Mojave all day. Like it so much, I own 4.
As Traxxas has high prices for the hobby, aren't they back by NHRA or Nascar or something for its brand?
I mean horizon hobby sponsors a nascar team.
@@cmoney360CS i think I seen that too but wasn't sure.i just figured their prices are high from the big racing franchises... learning process for me!

The one thats cheaper to fix Cause they all break if you bash em hard

The 4s Mojave for $499 blows away the traxxas maxx.
F no
Mojave drives, jumps and feels better handling. The Maxx Slash drives and feels like a monster truck with a SC body on it.
The Arrma doesn’t seem to role over as much and jumps better
I have yet not to break this means you have broken it every time you run it. Did you mean "i have yet to break it"
Mojave seems better looks like ppl enjoy it more and the slash seems more like a roof scraper roof lander 😅 my money goes to arrma fs

The Mojave 4s is a much better truck than the maxx slash
Arrma all day long.
Looks like the traxxas doesn't like to land well
It handles like a cinder block.
You can get 15% off at tower hobbies on the mojave all day. Mojave is a no brainer compared to the maxx slash.
Arrma in this case and I'm a Traxxas guy...js
