    I’m thinking you will never knock off those monster edges without tearing the hell out the paper your gonna need a 40 grit to knock down that mess. I can’t see using any mechanical sander without dust collection. Fire the guy that left coat hangers KIDDING. I’ll stay tuned for demo

    I have used both. Mirka is lighter but the motor has significantly more vibration. The abernet system in good but the hose connection to the leros is bad compared to festool. The bag for the Leros offers very little protection as well. I bought the leros and thankfully was able to return it because the NEW planex is being released shortly in the states, it has lights on the unit! Personally I highly recommend staying away from mirka for this particular tool

      I dont understand the appeal of cordless drywall sander... No matter what you still have the vac hose so you are still not "cordless" unless you are not using dust collection and thats no good. Plus it adds the extra weight of the battery. Every ounce counts by the end of the day. Lightweight, maneuverability, no gouging, and good dust collecting is the name of the game with drywall sanders. Not sure what took so long for someone to develop it but it looks like Mirka knocked it out of the park.

      @@lgbfjbsupporter5566 I agree with you a 100% me buddee, the appeal to me is the lack of plug ins in a lot of the new home projects but not at the expense of extra weight or the finish job the sander can pull off

      Jose Angel I have the porter. It’s heavy plus the size of the damn thing. How do you sand a closet or average 5x8 bathroom without banging walls and gouging mud. I switched to the festool Planex just for the simple fact it’s compact. You add extensions for taller ceilings if desired. I’m 6’ so I can do 8’ ceilings with it in shortest length. I never tried festools easy sand. But it looks long. Wouldn’t want it if I had to fit into small closets or powder rooms. I’m digging this Mirka. Love the swivel on the pad against the ceiling. Interesting thing is the planex I bought 5-6 years ago was the same price. I’d buy the Mirka if buying a sander now.

    With a taping job like that you’ll need a diamond grinder. My suggestion... get a better taper

    Holy smokes you need sds jackhammer to knock the edges , I bet mirka is the best drywall sander on the market but not for that type of joints 😂 😂

    I thought the same thing about the festool. I was so disappointed in my festool after i bought it. I only break it out for removing popcorn. Its way over priced at $750 and just destroys my joints. My wen sander does 10 times better job then the festool and only costed $125.

    • @csdrywallhawaii
      @csdrywallhawaii  4 роки тому +2

      Ya the festool is only a little better then some of the off brands. Is is a couple hundred bucks better 🤷‍♂️

      I have the Wen sander $125. I think I’ll keep that as my popcorn sander after I’ve done a 1pass scrape on the popcorn ceiling.

    So he uses two sanders then comments the muds still moist. Using highest setting only. Barely uses the Mirka and says it’s his preferred unit. Didn’t have sand paper holes aligned with the base. Dust everywhere. Sorry, is he a plumber by trade? Mirka may be good but no way is it better than festool

    150 paper grit for any house...all the way till the end....does perfect jobs.......and stop using the machine on max speed you wont get circles....use it on lowest speed with 150 and walk with it and its a 1 pass. Also, people with level 5 sanding jobs dont take those kinda jobs anymore...what are you doing there ? hahaha

    • @johnbarcza5945

      First of all, I think you meant spackling. Which spackling compound is special purpose compound meant to be used to fill dents and dings on primed or painted surfaces. For that purpose, nothing works better. I always recommend Red Devil one time brand. Best on the market. In most cases spackling compound is only used by painters. Works WAY BETTER than regular compound on painted or primed surfaces. Trust me, I have been a practicing drywall hanger/ finisher for 39 yrs. So in other words…You may want to learn the trade, before you throw advice out there. Especially when it comes to drywall. Hands on is the ONLY WAY this trade is learned. WORD
