@@csdrywallhawaii i being using porter cable, but i always want to try or buy the festool, do you recommended? Or do tou think is it better than porter cable? Since you have tried all
Jose Angel I have the porter. It’s heavy plus the size of the damn thing. How do you sand a closet or average 5x8 bathroom without banging walls and gouging mud. I switched to the festool Planex just for the simple fact it’s compact. You add extensions for taller ceilings if desired. I’m 6’ so I can do 8’ ceilings with it in shortest length. I never tried festools easy sand. But it looks long. Wouldn’t want it if I had to fit into small closets or powder rooms. I’m digging this Mirka. Love the swivel on the pad against the ceiling. Interesting thing is the planex I bought 5-6 years ago was the same price. I’d buy the Mirka if buying a sander now.
Key thing about festool is you don’t like the product they take is back no questions asked. Don’t know about the old festool sander but the new one is sweet
Does the mirka get the inside corners good? The festool has that removable plastic guard, or is it like porta cable were you still have to hand sand inside corners

C&S DRYWALL LLC. Hawaii - I just watched it. It collects 98% of the dust on the edge I saw a little plume of Sheetrock dust. I think the double hose helps. It’s highly maneuverable and you stood it straight up and sanded the ceiling. I’m pretty sure the Festool planex would jump and gouge if you tried that.

Why are you sanding if it surface still wet...
A little off topic. How do you test or know your mud is ready for sanding.
When fully cured the mud changes colors to more of bright white rather then an off white.
Do you run your box with out a blade? Pretty bad when a power sander doesn’t do anything.
Why so much dust with the Mirka on the last part of the sanding? Did you not use extractor?
Yup I did have the adapter for vacuum yet so I used it solo.
