@groundcrew2 thanks for watching and taking interest. I used a GoPro HD in this video and a Olympus DS-40 basically. I put the DS-40 into a jacket pocket and run a female to male 3.5mm audio cable to the included mic - which is lodged between one of the cheek pads and the shell of the helmet.
@dlinquencious :) aight. Definitely will have to do that sometime soon! Thanks for checking out the series. Later in the series I filmed the high cliffs/little river north of Vegas. :) Thanks for the comment too. Looking forward to April!
While in Vegas last week I was informed about the "Valley of Fire", just to the North and a bit East of the wholesome city. A couple of my buddies rented a Harley and took the tour. I was informed by them that it was the best riding in their life. They are from Michigan, so I don't know what they have seen their whole life. The locals in Vegas said it's the best place to ride in Nevada. I put it on my list for this year. It rained a bit when I was in Arches too.
I havent gone to another state yet so i cant say much. Though I have been to Puerto Rico at least half a dozen times(to see family) and I fell in love with that island.
I went past there on the i70 on my way from Salt lake City to Grand Junction on my motorcycle trip across the USA, after seeing this I wish I made a detour to this area hehe. Amazing scenery o)
@groundcrew2 good call and.......... to sync the audio with the video you'll have to find a marker in video (like a visor shutting) or something. You could technically also shoot video and create the commentary when you see it at home (but it wouldn't be a legit motorcycle vlog I don't think) did that answer your question?
Just happened to run across your video on Arches National Park 1 and I'm extremely curious to know what kind of helmet cam you were using(I thought you mentioned a GoPRo in another video) and I'm particularly interested to know just what kind of set-up allowed you to do the narrative while you were riding, and do it without much wind noise. It's exceptionally clear and I was very impressed. Many thanks. Groundcrew2
@rebelyell91 Sorry to be a pain, but you get such terrific results, I need to know.! I use iMovie and wonder if you can import the voice into the editing format (in this case, iMovie)in the same fashion that the video is imported? Or is there another way to sync the audio narrative with the video so when you point something out verbally, it's what actually is showing up in the corresponding video? The next time you're in Mexican Hat, make sure you ride The Moki Dugway !!! Thanks !
Wow the scenery is breathtaking! Have you ever thought about making a video about going up Pikes Peak? Thats another equally beautiful place to ride. Anyway keep up the excellent videos!
@rebelyell91 No, I just heard that Chris was going. I had my fill of it last week. I like to visit but not more than once or twice a year. It burns you out pretty quick and I don't even drink.
Utah! Heck ya! I just love the welcome you get when you drive up the 15 from vegas; canyon walls as high as you can see with a windiing river down below. Checkin your Utah series now and looks like you didn't hit Nebo Loop so put that on your to do list and count me in. *_~
@rebelyell91 Many thanks for that info; A good friend who is doing similar stuff has provided additional insight on this and I may try to get one of the digital recorders and give it a try. I wish I'd known of these recorders prior to a ride I took thru the Swiss Alps and Dolomites with my son last June; it would have made some good videos even better ! Thanks, again, and keep up the terrific work ! you shooting 1080P 30fps or 720P 60fps??? Groundcrew2
@DJCipster4BREAKS Ryan rode ahead of me past 2 towns and stayed in the 3rd town (or was it the 2nd?) and he chilled out, relaxed - rode around the town, etc. while I had a good time in Gods. it was pretty awesome
@rebelyell91 Many thanks for that info; it's a technique I haven't used but intend to try in the near future. i had to stop watching your vids because everytime i did, i wanted to buy a ninja 250r so badly but i couldn't. a couple months later i am now watching this and its like those couple of months never happened. DAMMIT I WANT A NINJA 250R lol
@rebelyell91 Sorry to jump in, but after taking that trip (day trip for me), I have to point out that the best route is from the west entrance for the road through. You would be up against the mountain, which is safer then the cliff side because of idiots not staying in their lane.
I have to agree with legomyevan24! Your also a boost on the " buying a 250R" :P. I got one now haha :P and enjoying it as far the weather here allows it ! :D

@TheAcceleration definitely definitely and yes the GoPro has a very wide angle lens and that's the effect

@Vulcan750L I really should. well hopefully in the future I'll do CA - OR - and WA
That place is hallucinatingly beautiful. The only place as crazy as this one in terms of landscapes is Scotland. And it's really smaller.
@ParisianZee I would love to go to Scotland sometime :)
I've been to Paris already :P

i wonder if i can take my dirt bike out there, should i go straight to Moab? or are there any trails out by the arches?
"should do all the national parks"
Yosemite and Glacier (a Glacier trip would be EPIC on a motorcycle)
@Arvak777 really? any videos?
i had to stop watching your vids because everytime i did, i wanted to buy a ninja 250r so badly but i couldn't. a couple months later i am now watching this and its like those couple of months never happened. DAMMIT I WANT A NINJA 250R lol

@nit8690 yes it is. :)
What were the temps like when you were here?
did you go through Zion national park on your trip?
@rebelyell91 no not really actually, just personal short videos and nothing special on footage.
@emptym01 :) yeah? I'll have to look that up! maybe we all could do that
