@@LaylaAssaff A JD is technically a doctorate, but no one uses the title. The closest you get to recognition as a doctor like a PhD, MD, DVM, DDS, ect. is that you get the doctoral regalia at graduation. But even when someone with a JD is teaching law at a law school, they don't get the title doctor.

HUGE respect for the translator❣️ I don’t know how she can interpret so fast while Judge Boyd speaks. As I age multi tasking is challenging! My grandfather spoke four languages (Arabic, French, Spanish, and English). He farmed in North Dakota in 1910. He was often requested by the Court to translate. I’m proud to be his granddaughter❣️ Love Judge Boyd!!!

it is sad, to me, that she has to ask the people milling about the courtroom to be quiet while she conducts her business. those in attendance, especially the lawyers, should know to respect her and the job she is doing

@pameliahartsfield4572 n This is yet another side of the US judicial system that totally confuses me. Its a throw back to the days when bar rooms were converted to courts. Even the layout is the same. The US is the only country where this antiquated system still exists, other than parts of India. To the best of my knowledge.

With Mr. Escobar not being a US citizen, isn’t it really dangerous to commit a crime due to being deported &/or may never be able to become a citizen? I like their interpreter headsets! Think Judge Boyd is really caring & tries to give especially young people advice to be better. First time I’ve seen her. I guess interpreters have to be certified because a lot of people speak Arabic & English ( at least here in California!)

We had names for our styles”
    I yelled out “yeah!!”
I guess I wouldn’t be the only neighbor yelling YEAH at a viewing like a football game, but probably the only one roaring when a judge says some gospel
OMG and then she references The Warriors!!

“ the dirty south” has nothing to do with the name of the street that he lives on. That was ridiculous. And did you notice how his lawyer was prepared with that answer.
The phrase the Dirty South refers to a lifestyle choice of hustling, crime, living a thug life, for those who grew up in high poverty areas amongst the southern states.
