Liosi Beach, Afytos, Chalkidiki | GREECE 🇬🇷

Afytos (Greek, Modern: Άφυτος) is a village in Chalkidiki, northern Greece. It is part of the municipality Kassandra. The area around Afytos consists of farmlands in low hills. Its economy is based on agriculture and tourism. The town attracts tourists mainly from the surrounding region due to its beaches and local craft markets.
Ancient Aphytis was an important town, belonging to Pallene. Its fleet participated in the Persian Wars. The town declined, and was not mentioned again until the 14th century. During the Greek War of Independence, many revolutionaries came from the village, including Triantafyllos Garoufallou, Georgios Panagiotou and Anastassios Kiriazis. Tourism rose after World War II.
Afytos Beach is a picturesque resort and beach of the same name on the northeastern edge of the Kassandra Peninsula. It is not by chance that this area is called the true pearl of Halkidiki, and legends ascribe to it a significant role as the site of the decisive battle of the ancient Greek gods with the titans. In the halo of such performances Afitos is an ideal place for relaxation of romantics, lovers of beautiful nature and spectacular sunsets and sunrises over the sea.
Liosi Beach is a beautiful sandy beach with some patches of pebbles. In a few places the clear, calm water gets deep and there are stones. And after your refreshing dip enjoy stretching out under an umbrella on the sunbeds and then popping to the beach bar for drinks and snacks.
