This title is low-key an insult, is it not? Usually referring to animals with the "pride", yeah? Last I checked. Correct me if I'm wrong, but doubt it, when a quick Google search confirms that. Why refer to Kenya the same way.?
In Kenya we use the phrase "Pride of..." a lot and in a positive way e.g our national airline is referred to as "The pride of Africa". So I guess the context is the same in this case, referring to the Kenyan athletes as the pride of Kenya. They actually are the pride of Kenya. And honestly even if it was in reference to the animals, I see no shame in being a pride of lions.😊
