At @0:14 neat to see the Christmas shops being set up. At @1:13 yes, no wrong directions in Vanalinn, explore everywhere! haha! 🥳 At @1:39 during our 2006 visit to Estonia, I snapped a photo of this angle, with a very suspicious man hanging from the roof appearing to be fiddling with a window. I captioned it something along the lines of "Inspector Clouseau, there is a very suspicious man....." 😎 At @2:26 Pika Jala Restoran is on my list of places hopefully to visit. Their menu seems to specialize in seafood items. At @2:55 ahhh.... Dom Kirik.... during my first visit to Estonia in 1997, my wife and I were able to attend an organ concert there. So that was the first Estonian organ I heard. And we were able to purchase a CD of Three Baltic Organs. Andres Uibo performed the Estonian tracks and on that same Dom Kirik organ. He was present during the concert. I remember making eye contact with him. I am not certain if I knew who he was at the time. (Nope! He was not at the first concert. We saw him in the audience another trip at a concert at Niguliste kirik (St. Nicholas' Church). I suspect that first concert at Dom Kirik may have been performed by Helen Tammeste, whom I like recordings she has made. Really challenging having been through life saving emergency brain surgery in 2006, had all of my B.S. (Before Surgery) memory wiped.... so remembering details from the B.S. period of life can be difficult. But hey, today I still get to live. ) Made the largeness of Estonia and Tallinn melt in my mind.... Does not matter that Tallinn is so much larger than the city I come from in the USA.... Tallinn already that first trip had a home / familiar feel to it. Anyway, back to that recommended CD. It is: "Three Famous Organs" ERES label CD 07 from the year 1995. Highly recommended to anyone if you can still find a copy. At @3:35 lovely view to the West from Toompea hill. The running track is the track of my wife's high school, Jakob Westholmi Gümnaasium. At @4:27 you are at the Kohtuotsa Viewing Platform offering a lovely view of Tallinn to the East from Toompea hill. At @4:52 'Tere Stephen!' (The Seagull) At @5:08 view of Oleviste kirik (St. Olaf's Church) when that was built it was the tallest building in the entire world! I have been up that tower, and I have also been up Sears Tower in Chicago, which also was the tallest building in the world. So, I have been up two of the tallest buildings in the world! 🥳 At @6:17 Suur aitäh!🥳
Tervitused! Thanks for sharing your impressions and information 😊It's great to hear that you know so many places 👌 This Pika jala Street is a very mysterious place, so I'm not surprised if you saw someone climbing there 😎😇The restaurant on this street is very cozy. It seems to me that everything is fine with your memory now. Thanks for the recommendation of the "Three Famous Organs" CD, maybe I'll get to see it somewhere 👍
@@tiina777 Also on that "Three Famous Organs" CD, Trace #8 is the perfect accompaniment for Exodus 33:18-21 when Moses asked to see God's Glory. From the first time I heard the track, I knew it was to be titled: "Prelude to the entrance of God." That track is: "Via Dolorosa" by Aivars Kalejs. The composer composed the piece on that organ at the Riga Dom, and he performs it. Awesome track.
