The inly issue he mentioned that could have anything to do with the port work is it not wanting to idle. How does the oiler not working or the pull start breaking have anything to do with port work?
The faulty oil hose, the starter assembly breaking, the bolts stripping, and the tensioner breaking are all issues that have absolutely nothing to do with porting a saw. Professionals get saws ported all the time, for decades, and these aren't issues that come from that. The only thing that would be caused by his tinkering is the idling issue, which wouldn't be an issue if the saw was tuneable.
@Lad-zn6fn the starter could have broken bc of increased compression. When they port the cylinder, they also cut squish and plug the decompression valve.
Just stumbled on this , neither a subscriber or fan. So I expect this won't be "appreciated". I have worked on the Husqvarna's a while and have a "dirty", because it's used; 585. That's a lower power version of 592 but on the same basic bones. 592's in this area have done quite well. My first take away? There is a reason Husqvarna won't warranty a saw that has been disassembled, ground on and reassembled. Things get over torqued, under torqued and generally jostled. Also unless a typical field tune is done, Autotune won't sort itself to the new parameters of a ported saw unless there is specific run time events. Which is the second thing. Sounds like you didn't know that and certain "mods" could cause a fair amount of idle and run issues....assuming things were reassembled properly with no leaks, Must do a field reset after tweaking those saws. Every time. AND if things were "effed" up , then its a moving target. Husqvarna gets the blame, but they had nothing to do with it. In fact Autotune is a blessing and a curse as its a real simplistic system that will attempt to tune around issues. My suggestion? Sort it out , or have someone who knows them to, as they are awesome generally reliable machines. All the hype on big name builders doesn't mean they do understand them, its like an online religion. After sorting out some from a variety of sources; I'm not particularly impressed when big names are tossed out, especially hacking on the Autotunes. In fact every time someone digs into a saw , there are now anomalies introduced that were not there from the factory. And just like statistical events happen with "stock" saws at the factory, add a "non" manufacturing spec entity and more are introduced. It's statistics, math. SO either a lemon from the factory? Or from the shop it was torn down , cylinder off, carb and covers, modified and reassembled ... every thing you pointed out from idle to pull start got touched. Especially if the cylinder had machine work done, now all bets are off. Difference? A clear cut saw issue stock, it's covered by warrantee, A builder? Maybe, maybe not but the haggling' pontification & rationalizations begins. BTW the "clutch" side covers chain adjust is the same mechanism as everything from 372 to 390 to 592. Solid stuff for decades, :) So an easy fix. The ONE issue I had on early 585/592 was the primer circuit hose, and Husqvarna replaced them and subsequent saw have the "new" part. THAT could cause idle issues BTW. Last thing, with your access to the community you might get folks to sort it.. IF I was to recommend a place, it would be Donny Walkers shop, if he was willing; should you continue to have issues.
There are way too many problems with these saws! They make great power but are not durable or reliable. The issue I'm seeing is leaking intake boots, cracked cases, and bad carbs
@@afleetcommand Main bearings, leaking intake boots, oil pumps, bad carbs. Better than the 550-MK1. Those had like a 50% failure rate at one point. I've owned so many saws that I've lost count, all different makes and models. So I really don't know what you're getting at?
Looks like you got a lemon. My first 540xp was like that. I wish manufacturers would send out a replacement and refurbish the lemons. My 592xp has been flawless. It's mostly stock, unported.
The saw problems reminds me of the two Dodge Dakota's I had. A 97 ext. Cab V6 2WD, replaced that with a 2001 quad cab V8 4WD. The mechanic knew my name and both trucks by sight. But. when they ran...loved them.
I am a steel chainsaw, man all the way I have about five chainsaw the one that I love the most is the 500i steel chainsaw. It’s awesome. Have no complaints about it. A lot of people are trying to talk me in to buy a Husqvarna. I don’t think so. I will stick with steel chainsaw. Never had a problem, but great video as usual.👍
I think you can have lemons anywhere, especially with new models. We have a 592, I had to be one of the first. It has never given me problems. Unfortunately our 500i has been nothing but problems. Just got it back last week.. the dealer had it for a year basically. It blew the didn't know why, everything on our end was great. Lots of other ther problems including the same as others, but the saw may have had 3 fells on it when it blew. It's been in and out of the shop forever. No it's just less then two years and Sthil said after the rebuilt ot there's no warranty. Anyways we have had the same type of problems with sthil, and nothing much with husqvarna. To each their own.
Very unpopular question. A stripped screw hole and a broken cover are likely related. Waiting a month for a simple hose repair speaks to the repair facility not getting to work. Thats a few minute job. The hose being broken, when the saw is ported doesnt the clutch have to come off which means likely the oil pump hose will be removed? It really sounds like these problems stem from the work done to the saw. If im off base thats fine, but i dont really feel i am.
Hopefully I made the right choice by getting a Husky 390XP. I wanted something that would handle a 36 inch bar easily. Phil over at TimberFallingCouple has had some case breakage issues on his 661s. I was torn between the 592 and 390. The local shop had a 390 and I waited for them to get a 592. The 390 felt noticeably lighter. And I liked that it is more old school tried and tested.
I have the little 550XP mark 2, it leaked and had oiling problems and the 2 part magnesium case loosened apart. When it runs it's the best saw I've ever used
Bummer. Ive had a 592xp for a year. Used it for milling. Trees. Bucking. Had zero issues aside from its a big saw… Hope you don’t have any more issues with it. Hang in there!
If you know the Chickanic channel (small engines), she had problems with Husky parts supply and pricing and not long after she made an episode on the subject, the boss of Husqvarna rang her from Sweden (🤪) to discuss it and he remedied the situation!! So, maybe get in touch her and see what contacts she has there. Once notified, the MAN seemed to act promptly.😁👍
In the UK you would be charged for destroying that tree with the raccoons in it.. Then again, we get sent to prison for Facebook posts, so its not saying much..
weird because i have not heard anyone that i know have any issues with their 592. So thats very interesting I'll have to keep a ear open for anything further issues
I love Husqvarna, also own a few Stihl's my Husqvarna's always run, I also don't mess with them and change a bunch of stuff. But yeah I have no issues with either saw but prefer Husqvarna
My 2 cents. The guy who ported it messed it up. Other than the starter breaking no one else has issues and if you use the decomp for cold starts the starter holds up.
They probably plugged the decompression valve. Most saw porters plug them bc they always end up leaking. Plugging it isn't really a issue, but they probably also cut squish to increase compression and that's probably why the starter assembly broke. With that being said, if every other saws starter on the market, including other husqvarna models, can handle it, this should also.
I’ve had a 572 for almost two years and it ran great for about a year until the coil went out. Replaced that at the local shop under warranty then it won’t auto tune at different elevations. Took it back to the same shop they fixed that now it won’t idle or hit top rpm’s just sits around lie 3/4 throttle. Additionally I’ve replaced the chain tensioner on it several times it seems whenever I throw a chain it just breaks the tensioner every time. Im gonna take it to a different shop now and see if that was the issue with all the work that’s been done to it. My buddy has a 592 and he is constantly having problems with it not oiling not starting when hot not idling and chain tensioners breaking.
I’ve gotta say there’s very little wrong with stock modern autotune saws. The fact you’ve had someone mess with it sounds like the cause of most of your issues.
I got a sawking394 and new stock 395 and love em…old girl is identical too buckins og 394 and rich from myrtle cr done it…cut some with it this wk and remember how fast it can work up a big white oak
Have had my 592 for 2 years. 1 issue, dealer fixed instantly. Strong reliable saw. Full time winter logging hardwood logs northern wisconsin. Is the saw modded? If so then everything is on you.
So as a person that has white knuckle terrible bad and has a bunch of different saws the new Huskys are a Cadillac to run compared to the others. I can run them longer without having to stop and get the feeling back in my hands!
BTW - maybe your 592XP was not made in Sweden but in either the US or Mexico where Husqvarna also has factories. A bit like VWs and Merceds - in Europe, they're OK. In the US, well, you get all kinds of problems because they just do not have the same depth of QC.
All 592's are made in Sweden. In the current production line-up (for US/EU markets specifically), only the T540XP, 540XP and 543XP are made outside of Sweden, either in Japan or in the case of recent 543XP, after initially being produced in Japan, in China. The tophandle/derivative models I can understand, as that's where the expertise in production has been for a long time, in Japan. But making a 543 (not a terrible saw, but NOT an XP level product) and calling it an XP model while it's produced in China just pisses me off no end. 545, 550XP, 560XP, 562XP, 565, 572XP, 585 and 592 are ALL made in Sweden, and ONLY in Sweden. There are still some older model XP saws under production in Brazil, but these are only available outside of the the US/EU and similar emission compliant markets, unless via grey-import routes. The home-owner/rancher clamshell bodied saws, no idea where they're made, but unlikely to be Sweden at this stage. I expect they're coming from China. I don't think there are any Husqvarna saws under production in Mexico or USA at this stage, although I know there were plenty made in Electrolux Group years in Poulan/Craftsman type production lines.
@63DegreesNorth husqvarna doesn't make chainsaws they assemble them from foreign parts. I.e. if you bought a husqvarna in America it was assemble in Charlottesville N.C.!
Well, its good to know. I prefer husky, have a 562 and 550 that work well. My stihl 026 still runs well with a 16 inch bar. I had a stihl 391 that cut really well if, and it was a big if, I could get it started.
I’m in Australia. I have 2 x 592XP saws, the first one literally nothing but trouble! After half dozen tanks the centre of the muffler fell apart. New muffler, the welds cracked around the bolt tubes. The top cover rubs like crazy on the cooling fins of the motor. Outside felling dogs snapped. Then I’ve had trouble with it running, which may have been a carby issue (only just got it back). The 2nd saw no issues and even sounds different. But the last couple years, my biggest issue with Husqvarna is the lack of parts availability. I have waited couple months during our winter for parts. If you sell a Pro saw, you would assume, the customer requires the saw to be running and can replace parts asap. A pro saw is useless when it can’t run for months and the customer is losing out on work!!
I'm thinking that mumma racoon was halfway up the inside of that hollow tree when it went over 😂 Also, I know they're cute, but don't pick up the babies as you put your smell on them, which can lead the parents to abandon them.
Hey Jake I run a lot of husky’s the idle issue can be resolved with an auto tune reset you should have asked red beard when you got the 540 and the 592 how to do it because you can do it out ing the field. The saw is fresh off the bench it dosent know its tune.

The saw problems reminds me of the two Dodge Dakota's I had. A 97 ext. Cab V6 2WD, replaced that with a 2001 quad cab V8 4WD. The mechanic knew my name and both trucks by sight. But. when they ran...loved them.
Funny how bjarne butler runs this saw in massive wood and never has a problem
My 592 has been nothing but great since I bought it, the 562 mark2 is way better than the mk1
Im on my first season with my 592. So far no big problems. I do like the husky light bars. I mostly cut decently big doug fir snags for firewood.
I swear if you spell it steel one more time…
Have you tried the 585. I have one and I love it. Never gave me a single problem.
I bet your kids loved that racoon footage! That was pretty cool.
Well that’s quite the experience!
I look over all the ground I work in just in case. Luckily that family was mature enough.
28year old Stihl 025, it just runs!
Long running dependable saw.
I have the little 550XP mark 2, it leaked and had oiling problems and the 2 part magnesium case loosened apart. When it runs it's the best saw I've ever used
great video. at least you don't find every hollow tree is occupied
57 seconds ago, Jake spoiling us here!
Have you hear or seen Valfast impact wedge?
Clever engineering to stand back to wedge a tree down.
Same happened with us with some baby squirrels, left them for momma to find a new home
Your 592 story reminds me of an old Led Zep song "I've got a little woman and she won't be true!"
In the UK you would be charged for destroying that tree with the raccoons in it..
Then again, we get sent to prison for Facebook posts, so its not saying much..
Haha 😆 that’s wild
Britainistan
Thats wild man. I dont understand why British people allow their government to walk all over them.
Sounds like it’s time for your own revolution.
@@alotl1kevegas860our 2nd amendment protects the rest of them.
weird because i have not heard anyone that i know have any issues with their 592.
So thats very interesting I'll have to keep a ear open for anything further issues
Damn lad you ported a lemon. I sport the 585.
Poor Isaac, he gets the FNG treatment in every vid.
With that being said, if every other saws starter on the market, including other husqvarna models, can handle it, this should also.
it broke before being ported... also what broke was manufacturer parts.
Have 2 357xps to make one whole older saw but always will like em.
It has indeed been ported.
I gather he is a punk, at best.
I haven't personally seen or heard of any 592's that aren't made in Sweden. I'd like to see the serial tag.
You a lie, the truth ain't in ya
The 5 series caps will fit in 372 and 390. I believe it's the oil cap that fits both, but I put them on years ago and don't remember.
❤ Husqvarna saludos desde la Republica Dominicana ❤ 272xp
I came and I "SAW"😂!
We had two 572’s. One constantly had tuning problems and the other one was stolen. Now we use 500i’s. Still got a 395 though.
Jake, it sounds like you are in an abusive relationship with that saw. 😂
Awh the baby raccoons so cute
Love your videos, great content.
What is the combo can that you use for your fuel and oil? Is it available on Sappy Supplies?
9:00 I don't even know how to spell syphillis but holy Christ I'm howling laughing 😂😂😂
Isn't it crazy how some people have luck with one and other have luck with the other.
Well, its good to know. I prefer husky, have a 562 and 550 that work well. My stihl 026 still runs well with a 16 inch bar. I had a stihl 391 that cut really well if, and it was a big if, I could get it started.
Have y’all ever came across a spiked tree that them dang tree huggers spike? Enjoy your videos from central Fl.
Best commercial for Stihl
I'm not so sure about that.
Good thing you high stumped it
I’m in Australia.
I got 2500$ into this free saw 😂
I chuckled at that one too
Hes an idiot.
Story of my life
Second one was super curly maple
I'm thinking that mumma racoon was halfway up the inside of that hollow tree when it went over 😂 Also, I know they're cute, but don't pick up the babies as you put your smell on them, which can lead the parents to abandon them.
That is why one was left behind.
@@2009waterfall1 I was going to say the same thing. The one he handled was probably abandoned by mom.
@@wb6anp Gosh I hope not! I hope the little guy was just anxious to get out of there.
What a fantastic find!Raccoons! 😳 You just saved a family🥰 Love you for that.
you probably have a 592 that was made on a Friday.. lol
Because I don't have any of these problems with mine...
Hey Jake I run a lot of husky’s the idle issue can be resolved with an auto tune reset you should have asked red beard when you got the 540 and the 592 how to do it because you can do it out ing the field. The saw is fresh off the bench it dosent know its tune.
the man that did the port job caused most of the problems
I want that chainsaw lanyard actually
Awesome bro.
Please do a Stihl MS 261 review!
Really like your videos ! BUT TWO... OOPS THREE... QUESTIONS !
1.) Why are you guys ... NOT ALWAYS WEARING EYE PROTECTION ?!?.. (RHETORICAL..)
2.) Why most of the time... NO GLOVES?.?
3.) I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL TREE CUTTING EXPERT... But, I always thought that after cutting the "V' notch out, it was best?.. to make the STRAIGHT CUT from the back about 2-ish inches higher than the front cut for a better "HINGE" !
My 572 has been my big saw for climbing as long as ive had a big saw. I bought it cause it was more afforsable than the 462 - now ive ran both a lot and to me the 572 cuts a lot better than the 46. Stock tho. Itd be cool to see you get a ported one. To be fair itdoes feel a lot heavier than the 462.
Sometimes you get a lemon…I’ve got a 572 with a SF muffler and it rips. Absolutely no issues. Maybe the 592 model has issues idk.
I believe he has issues. Mine had little issues dealer fixed been awesome. Cutting hardwood timber northern wisconsin.
Maybe if one would not throw your saws around , drop them on the ground , they may last longer . The case is only , a plastic composite . Just a thought
