Better to be honest about it, than waste everyone's time. She will be unlucky if she serves even a year of that 3. Prison will be looking to release her in 6 months...Where as on probation, she would inevitably do the time anyway...
She probably knows that she can’t do the other option and would rather just get the time over with and hopefully parole out eventually vs coming back later on and probably getting even more time than offered now
My husband would disagree but I am speechless. She is so young. She appears to be so empty. It saddens me that a person can think so little worth that they turn down help.
She such a beautiful girl, she needs to separate herself from everything and everybody she knows and find a better way of life. Who in the hell chooses jail 🙄
@Olderthanilook. * Just a guess but most people addicted to drugs know or have seen the suffering involved with withdrawal. It's easier to participate in drugs that are obtained while behind bars and maintain what they consider normal. Once released they return to their 'normal activities'. It's easier than trying to be clean. She isn't considering upon her release she might face mandatory UAs. Drugs = living in the moment, never considering consequences or responsibilities.
I’m pretty sure she will still find a way to acess drugs via prison contraband. The thought of being an inpatient and being denied drugs altogether is what really frightens her.
How long will she really serve? I suspect 3 years is more like 20 months… She is playing the odds because she doesn’t want to do the work to get out of that life.
In Texas its better to do the time then get out OFF PAPER. Probation in The Great Lone Star State is designed to keep wackenhut contractors in business
Denial paired with arrogance is the reason that 70% of the people in prison are there and continue returning. They are the weakest minded of all, while believing they are smarter than the average 5th grader.
Probably a stupid question, but why do people choose prison over treatment? Is it just unwillingness to give up their addiction or is treatment harder than prison?
Inpatient treatment is up to a year. So, you're basically in jail, and then probation is still hanging over your head. You have watched so many videos where there's a motion to revoke is filed. If you break probation, you are facing higher range of punishments. People who're a bit smarter and know they are unable to fix their lives, they choose jail time and get it over with once and for all.
She will go through forced withdrawals for a couple of weeks then be clean (maybe, the prisons aren’t always drug free). As soon as she gets out I bet she will be high within 24 hours. She doesn’t want to change.
I actually don't think her picking prison was a bad idea. For the next year and a half, she'll be away from her old environment. I'm not done watching, but the judge can refer her to the therapeutic community - where she'll get aid for her drug habits and any mental health concerns. Had she picked probation, she could have easily been tempted to return back to her old habits. Then this cycle would repeat itself quicker and easily.
@@aunttonton7302 Same difference...If you know you aren't ready to stop using, taking the time is your only real option. Complete waste of $, keeping people on probation, when they never intend to complete it. It quickly leads to more charges, and doing the original time anyway. Prob a better chance cleaning up in jail, then on probation...They will be looking to boot her in 6 months tops! She will also be eligible for half way assistance when released. While on probation, she will need to pay for everything...
She can apply for release once she has served half her sentence. With time served, etc, she will be out in 18 months. She obviously doesn't want help, and she isn't prepared to put any effort into getting reformed. Doesn't look like a great future for her, I think the judge is right about her probable faith.
I don't blame her. Probation used to be designed to rehabilitate. Now it's designed for you to fail and get the prison term anyway. Watch these court videos and it's a motion to revoke after a motion to revoke.
@@sandboxplayerz667 well, sex worker is a general term that can be applied to all but i don't think it exactly describes her either, just a part of her life. i have to disagree that labeling her as a "fallen woman" is actually being polite. it's condescending & judgmental, not polite at all. .

She does not want to change. Judge Boyd's prophecy will eventually come to pass.

I think so too. I hope she changes her mind. It would be awful for her mom to have to identify a body
She doesn't believe she can change.
Sad as it may seem, she has guaranteed herself 3 years of a bed, meals and no Johns.
I saw this live and had to pause and go back! Who in their right mind chooses prison?!

Judge Boyd Cares about these people and wants them to survive. Thank You Your Honor
I do not want anything to do with that super gonorrhea
Facts😂🎉🎉🎉
It's sad to say but it looks like she's already given up on her life
Judge Boyd doesn't put up with a defendants' gassing. Gives the choices, gives sentence, goes on to next case.
Shame she is so locked into her 'bad lifestyle'.
She probably feels going to prison will be the best choice to get away from the streets and whoever is pimping her out.
This criminal is giving me a headache. You can lead a horse to water…….

If she screwed up probation she was looking at 10 years

Probation doesn't work anyway. Might as well send her to the big house. For a long, long time.
Foolish is as Foolish does...
That’s really sad!! I hope she decides treatment is worth it.
So sad.
It is sad!
Sis said she’s not a quitter 😂😂😂
"Choose now!" Perhaps a few moments to confer with her attorney would be beneficial?
She's nervously swaying, but she seems calm otherwise.
Defendant sacrificed the opportunity to get well. What a shame.

I think she just no longer believes in redemption or herself. Such a wretched life. I feel so sorry for her!😢😮
And she continues a life of poor choices.
Wow - thinks she will back to her old lifestyle quicker and easier just doing 3 years jail.... Stupidity is a choice!

She knows she can get drugs in prison
IMO, it's a very sad decision she made for herself. Once she gets out she will not have the tools of recovery for her to use.
The return of the super gonorrhea!
She's just taking a break from having to care for herself. She'll be back.
Maybe trying to get away from traffickers and if it takes prison,so be it.🤔

She is terrified of her pimp and feels safer in prison. She does not feel safe on probation
