My theory is that his wish to become the star of twisted metal compels him to partake in the tournament. The ring gives him unholy powers to survive his "death".
Sweet Tooth in this game has massive "Arcade Final Boss" energy. Designed to eat up quarters, or in this case, designed to be so hard that children spend forever trying to beat him so that they don't return the game within the return period.
I never understood why in this game Sweet Tooth does not speak in any of the cut scenes. It's always Melvin that does the talking. Also captain grim has his parrot to talk for him and mr. Zombie has that weird floating head that talks instead of him. Just some strange choices from 989 studios. Anyways, great gameplays man. They've become part of my daily routine.

With Captain Grimm i kinda like that the parot talks for him but for Mr. Zombie i assume it would cost too much to have Rob Zombie voice himself so they just opted for someone they already had
Sweet Tooth does not deserve to talk because Melvin exists.
Sweet Tooth has to silently juggle to hide the pain over the fact that maintenance costs on his van are insane now. I mean just look at how low his van is! Suspension probably crapped out and he’s just dragging the gas tank along the asphalt.

I always thought the reason Sweet Tooth is still in the endings even after beating him as a boss is because the ring he's wearing probably has some sort of immortality/respawn powers, hence why the same characters come back more than once throughout the tournament. I mean, I guess that would make the most sense. More or less a theory of mine.
The Ring does grant reality-bending powers and seems to have no limit to what it can actually do.

Regardless of the choices 989 did, I think they did excellently with TM4. Almost my favorite game on the Ps1
after watching this series I think how you could make sense of the bedroom and even a character like Quattro is that the level themes of tf4 seem to be based on time and space. so each stage is whatever and whenever sweettooth wants

Don't activate shield too early when Sweet Tooth's special caught you, wait for few seconds and then activate shield before red head burn you.
Whenever I used to play Sweet Tooth as a kid, I'd basically "tolerate" everyone. When I'm done "tolerating" one, like my frames getting cut in half by Goggle Eyes, that's when I'll use the special 🤣
Goggle eyes and trashman were ALWAYS the first ones I would kill. I would see their name and instantly send henchmen their way. Lmfao they just went thru the wal lmao. 😭😭😂😂😂😂

Twisted Metal 4 Sweet Tooth gives me the "feeling" of been playing as TM1 Minion, TM2 Dark Tooth and TM3 PrimeEvil but this time even stronger than those. Henchmen is stronger than all of those special attacts since it keeps you in place.
It would be hilarious if Sweet Tooth in this game was driven by a fan who is a cosplayer of the guy lol.

I definitely prefer the original character design for Sweet Tooth, but as a boss character I'm guessing they found it necessary to change them. Props to 989 for taking a risk and trying something new
Best character in the entire series. Special is the best special ever. The design to me is the best sweet tooth design. Handling might be a lil sluggish but hes also a fucking tank with so much health and armor. And its sweet tooth. The most iconic character in the series. Gotta be the best character of the whole series.

Most overpowered TM boss ever, no any bosses can compete him, TM4 Sweet Tooth is TOP.
I remember hating this boss so much as a kid, I always dreaded fighting him, and I think I couldn't beat him legit until I learned the hyperspace command

I figured it was Melvin or one of his clown henchmen piloting the car, mainly because of the clown face on the back of the ice cream truck. Either that or it's remote controlled.
Aww yeah time for my favorite tm character enjoying this series made me boot up my modded ps1 classic go play through some of the tornaments in 4 myself

after playing what's considered the "best" in the series, TM2, I have to say I'd rather play TM4.

Just imagine if someone modded it and added 6 more special heads like freeze, Homing, Fire, power, Serpent (Minion) and Quasart (Moon Buggy)

Sweet Tooth being the main villain in this game was arguably the coolest thing in the series yet.
TM4 is my least favorite of the great games, but he's definitely my favorite boss fight.

At 10:43 you’re saying that people don’t like the bedroom because it doesn’t make sense. As if sweet tooth totally doesn’t have the power to bend and manipulate reality with a snap. So it’s not even just the fact it’s a video game, it’s easily explainable lore wise. Considering small brawl I don’t think they need to do the bedroom concept for a twisted metal again but it still isn’t a bad level. Maybe a little boring aesthetically? It seems to be laid out pretty well and it’s not to small or to huge.
Edit: also calling microblast, micropenis is hilarious.

you fight the same enemy in many levels so i mean what are they being revived or are they just not truely dying
I think the reason Sweet Tooth is the final boss fight is because he's a psychopath, obviously. I also believe he's the one driving the car, and he's not actually dead even if you beat him. In fact, every single contestant you 'killed' isn't really dead. If they were dead, why would they reappear in the next map, right? To me, it's a waste of time to wonder why he doesn't die as the final boss or why he is the final boss when he's the one running the show, because the other contestants don't die either, it doesn't make sense to begin with. And to be honest, Twisted Metal has never made much sense due to the consistent changes in every sequel. It's really all about the characters, their backgrounds, and whatnot.
there's like 5 channels entirely obsessed with twisted metal that have been consistently uploading for a year or so.. Smells like an elaborate advertisement...
So how's this for a challenge. Complete the TM4 tournament with Sweet Tooth without becoming Bald Tooth. Exploits are only allowed after say.....3 resets. I know this ain't the place for challenge suggestions I'm just throwing it out there.
