- Ganondorf in Super Smash Bros has always been a clone of Captain Falcon which is a disappointment. Meet Mage Ganon, a fully custom Super Smash Bros Brawl Mod found in Super Smash Bros Legacy XP. Mage Ganon has some assets from The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time. His entire moveset is totally different than Super Smash Bros Ganondorf. As a mod, he might be a bit OP but it's still way better than being a clone! Let me know what you think about this Ganon Mod!

This is what I expected Ganondorf to be when he first came to smash. I understand Sakurai and his team were under time constraints, but they should've just removed him if they couldn't make him appropriately. Captain Falcon had no source material. Ganondorf had too much source material to choose from. Im still hoping Ganondorf can be taken to the next step and overhauled in the next smash. He's good in ultimate but let's make him great.

He really is strong
the opp has to be in a VERY specific situation for that to even work (not to mention it being a meteor so you can jump out of it. CPU's cant do that), his recovery is no different from m2's since the extra portals won't ever fool someone who actually knows shit, and his "grab range" is just distanced from himself. if you are up in his face or far away, you won't get grabbed. you literally need to be in that exact spot to be grabbed lmao
not to mention nothing he has is even close to the PM top tiers in general along with it being PM where every character is meant to be good.

Like another comment said, feels like a boss fight. Oozing confidence in every move, a real tribute to the character. Best part is, this moveset can be balanced while retaining this intimidating playstyle.

Ganon Charge and/or Sword Slash (perhaps based on which button is pressed upon receiving Smash Ball)
Dark Energy/Black Hole from OoT Final Battle
Banish players to Sacred Realm or whatever Dark World he can access with the Triforce of Power

The Ganondorf we deserved in Smash Ultimate
Never liked Ganon as a CF clone, and always felt he should at least have his thunder attacks from OoT. This version seems a bit broken in the variety of abilities he has--the Peach-floating would already make his recovery amazing without his Mewtwo-esque up special, and his grab range and throws seem too powerful--but all the ideas here are solid! Ganon and Samus are the two characters in greatest need of reinvention, IMO. (Also, sword-using Toon Ganon would be awesome.)
they rushed him in melee. we was literally rushed into melee. once he was they didnt have enough time to add a moveset for him so instead they threw in CF's moveset.
The fact that he uses a sword is a step up, but if they could go further and make him much more usuable.

Ultimate Ganondorf is really great, but THIS, is on a whole nother level. This is how Ultimate Ganondorf SHOULD'VE been.

Really good mod. Here's hoping Sakurai finally gives him a moveset as good, if not better than this. It's time.

Personally, I think all the characters should have multiple movesets that can be selected from a small menu. And yes, palette swaps (or model swaps, in this case) are included among the these movesets, or at least the model swaps that have no hope of having their own unique movesets (for example of those that do have such a hope, see Luigi and Ganondorf).
You could probably meteor cancel the down throw, if it was a spike though we'd have a problem.
Lincoln Beckett-Scott his down throw isn't op, just try to grab someone off the edge with ganon; it's pretty dam hard

they are very unbalanced the amounts of damage of all their attacks, I mean, they are extremely high, I would only recommend that it be fixed but it is better than the bad clone of C.Falcon

R.O. if you're talking about his down throw as an instant spike, what makes you think it's not a meteor and what makes you say you can't DI towards the stage like Fox's down grab near the ledge so you don't get chucked down towards the blastzone? He was playing against a CPU, there is no way you can tell without experiencing yourself.
And if you think his damage is absurd, PM Ganon 3.6 does 19% each hit for his up smash, and he's quick if you do dacus his upsmash.
Ahh, I remember the days when Project Ganondorf came out. That was such an amazing time, I was so happy to play with Sword AND Mage Ganondorf! I’m so glad you guys acknowledged that amazing moveset and patched it up, thank you!

The one detail I like about Mage Ganondorf that I hated about Smash!Ganondorf's Melee and Ultimate designs is that Mage Ganondorf has the long hair that Evil King Ganondorf had in OoT.
When you think about it, he also did have short hair in OoT

Man, really wished Ganon could be like this... but leave the Smash attacks (the ones in Ultimate) and his Final Smash unchanged and he'll be good to go.
His Smash attacks with the sword are even more powerful and unstoppable in Ultimate and his Final Smash is the same final boss in Ocarina Of Time and a boss in Smash. Really wished that it would be combined but this mod was made before Smash Ultimate was announced with the return of his original render considering that Ganondorf didn't appear in Breath Of The Wild.
Maybe a few balance patches and this ganon would be perfect

Aight, I've labbed with this dude. Here's my summary:
-His moonwalk is busted
-his worst move is jab. Down tilt outclasses it as a close quarters tool
-he struggles in getting hitboxes around him. OOS probably would only be Nair
-his grab range may be huge, but it's slow
This verse of Ganon is probably related to Project Ganondorf. He's busted there, and I can see how he's toned down here

Now that is a fan moveset for Ganondorf! It's a shame but I can understand why Ganondorf didn't have particular movesets as these in old and future Smash games.
I dunno, some moves makes sense, others are quite laughable.
But, no DOREYAH is even worse.

I would make a couple changes myself.
1. I think the down special should put the characters in the ground. Like, bury them.
2. His DAir should DEFINITELY spike
3. Nerf his Down Throw as it's SEVERELY over powered, and doesn't really give players a chance
4. Change his Final Smash. Keep the electricity thing, but make it a smaller hit box, and anyone caught in it would be attacked by Beast Ganon. The attack would be from OoT's opening cinematic where Ganon swings his dual swords, and that would be the attack.
5. The alternate costume of Phantom Ganon should have the trident as the reflector as PG doesn't have his cape. That's just more of an aesthetic thing.
Super Smash Bros Crusade also has a (partially) decloned Ganondorf. His neutral B is his side Smash (warlock punch, not from this video), he actually uses his sword in up air, and up smash. There's a lot more to it.
Ganondorf having a good recovery in Smash is so cursed. I can not imagine that whatsoever.

If they wanted to be 100% true to Ganondorf he'd murder everyone else in smash. It takes Link, Zelda with the help of several gods just to keep him at bay or imprisoned. He can't truely die. Picture Kratos but bigger, more potent magic, and hates everything that breathes and that's basically Ganondorf.
Part of making Ganondorf a balanced character is one that can easily destroy but one that can also BE easily destroyed. To achieve this, Ganon must not have the best mobility options but instead the greatest power in the game. So giving him the ability to float would create unbalanced gameplay. Now as much as I love the idea of the cape for a reflector, that makes him more of a defensive character and Ganon is an offensive character. I think there are better options for a neutral special than the projectile given to him. I never thought of projectiles and Ganon being a good idea. However, I like the idea of more ranged moves to Ganon with his lack of mobility options. Finally, when I said earlier that Ganondorf is a character that can be easily destroyed, I meant for his recovery option to be very vulnerable. I personally like his current up special as it is fun to use but also very vulnerable. Overall, I love to see how people can rethink the move set to the king of darkness

The best thing about this? This would be the first character to NOT use a normal type move. He straight up uses magic in ALL of his attacks, no raw punching. I even could argue that the Cape swish would be psychic type

Damn, dude. I seriously wish Nintendo would've given Ganondorf this type of moveset. He's just a clone in the actual game. Sure, they added the use of his sword, finally. But they aren't even original moves. They're just Ike's up and side smashes and Cloud's down smash. Such a disappointment. I still use him, but he would've been way more hype to use as an original character.
