    Thanks for another video sowing what the BX is capable of doing. What RPMs are you running at when doing landscaping digging? Are you maxed out or running a few clicks down on engine speed, yet getting max PSI from the pump? I know gas powered machines have different attitudes about max. RPM usage. One of my neighbors wants me to do a practice basket ball court and I am leaning towards doing the job digging with a mini excavator instead on digging the pad out using the FEL on my machine. Always enjoy watching your projects.

    • @BiffsEquipment
      @BiffsEquipment  Рік тому

      Thanks Wayne! As for the engine RPM I usually run around 2600-2800rpm as I find that full rpm from 2800 doesn’t add much hydraulic pressure it only really adds more flow.. it also becomes louder the more RPM you run. I find I rarely ever go above 2800ish unless for certain situations

    Saw you had a new video and was looking forward to seeing you break ground on the new shop. This was some decent work that shows very well what our little Kubota's are capable of. I was wondering if you had the BX Expanded Underbody shield to protect everything underneath including that ridiculously located plastic fan. I had a stick jammed up there once but it missed the fan just barely so I immediately ordered the shield and feel much better when I'm clearing brush.

    • @BiffsEquipment
      @BiffsEquipment  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks man, the BX certainly does a lot more work then most would think or give it credit for thats for sure! As for the body armor I have not purchased it.. I never ran any protection and some how I have never broken my HST fan like so many others.. and I’ve cleared acres of land with it unprotected.. BUT I have had sticks lodge up into the fan before, Iv heard them hit the fan and have had to shut it down to rip out the stick before.. since then im just very cautious and look to make sure im not driving over a stick that’s pointed towards the fan and I try to be careful.. thankfully all my fins are still on my fan and it’s still in great shape .. the bxpanded body armor is excellent protection for the price and I been meaning to pick one up since i got my bx 3+ years ago but never got around to actually ordering it.. tho I still would like to get it some day as you can only get lucky for so long!

    Are you floating the bucket when scrape? I have the same thing I have to do and only need to go a couple inches in one spot the dig a deep hole to bury my left over rocks

    • @BiffsEquipment
      @BiffsEquipment  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Chris. No I usually never use float when I’m digging like this.. float will cause the bucket lip to dig further down into the ground on you than you want to go, sometimes I’ll use float to drop the bucket to the ground but then I pop it out of float before I start moving forward.. out of float the loader will maintain its height and won’t be sucked down into the earth like it would be in float.. as for digging the holes deeper to burry the stumps,. This works with rocks like you said but I don’t like doing it with stumps because as they rot away the ground will continue to sink for many years to come so I always remove the stumps completely and burn them. Thanks for watching!

    Hey Biff, did you have any dramas getting the La344 on the BX2370? I recently picked up a BX2370 with a mower deck and want to put a FEL on. My local Kubota dealer (Northern NSW in Australia) has quoted me $7k (AUD) for an LA243SGBA but I'd love to copy your set up with the newer LA344 FEL. PS thanks for the inspiration!

    • @BiffsEquipment
      @BiffsEquipment  Рік тому +1

      Hey Andrew, as for the loader we had no issues what so ever. The only thing that needs to be done is they’ll need to remove the hydraulic quick manifold from the new loader and instead install 4 regular pioneer fittings.. the hose lengths that were on the 340/344 work just fine as long as they replace just the manifold with the 4 standard pioneer couplers. I would absolutly buy the 340/344 over the older 246 because not only is it a better loader with the quick park but it also can have a loader level indicator and Lastly it may even be cheaper than the older loader since the 340/344 are more readily available. Best of luck lmk how you make out 👍🏻

    Alright so shit is getting real... Kubota has 0% financing till the end of June and I'm thinking about buying new so I can finance. You ever run a BX1880 or other generation of 18hp? An 1880 is $17k vs $20k for the BX2380 the way I'd want it setup... I keep feeling like I'd regret getting the 18hp instead of the 23hp. Not having regrets is worth $3k right?

    • @BiffsEquipment
      @BiffsEquipment  2 роки тому

      Hey man sounds like it is about to get real! Hopefully things work out for you in purchasing your new BX! Let me know which model you end up going with.. the 18hp model has a few key differences.. the biggest being the engine HP obviously but the other is the fact that it has smaller tires which a lot of people don’t realize… just be sure your aware of that before purchase.. the smaller tires will make it so it’s got a bit less ground clearance, it will also make it not put the power down quite as well as a 23-26hp BX but it will still do an astounding amount of work and many of my subscribers have 18hp Bx’s and have been very happy with them! Another thing to note is that with the lower HP comes alot lower PTO HP.. so if your planning on doing alot of heavy mowing with the belly mower, or alot of use with rear PTO implements then yes the extra 3k is absolutly worth it.. not only that but the 23-26hp retains its value a bit better so there is that too.. but kubotas in general have really great resale value so I wouldn’t worry about that so much as the PTO HP and smaller tires. If all your really doing is loader work and attachments that don’t use a PTO then the 18hp BX is for you.. but if you plan on doing other things like I stated above then you’ll prolly wanna spend the extra money..
      PS.. If the smaller tires is the only big con for you then check out some articles/threads online as you can add bx23-bx26hp tires on your 18hp BX which will give you the same ground clearance and power to the ground as the larger HP Bx’s.. as the rest of the tractor is damn near identical aside from the HP and prolly the seat. Best of luck and lmk how you make out! 👍🏻

      @@BiffsEquipment damn dude that's some invaluable information. I knew about the smaller tires but didn't realize you could change them out. Resale is something I never thought about either. I got 3 acres to mow so the 60" deck and bx23 would be better.
      I did some honest number crunching and all I can say is screw this economy. If I was making money with the thing on jobs like you do I would be at the dealer now... I might have to wait till the next 0% sale though. I think about buying used but then I don't get great financing options, and I kind of want to break the thing in myself. @BiffsEquipment  2 роки тому

      @@balconio1172 very good man glad I could help! Yah the economy is not good right now. It’s a sellers market not a buyers market.. both used equipment and new is going for insane prices right now. I just spend over 14k just in materials for a 24x32 pole barn But it was something that had to happen so I’m ok with it but wasn’t happy. Iv been wanting a mini excavator but ever since COVID hit I havnt been able to find one at a decent price like I could before COVID.. so now I’m also waiting. Don’t be afraid to wait a bit but also keep your eye out on the market and auction sites as you may get Lucky and find a nice machine with only 300 hours. Buying new is nice cuz you can take care of it from the very beggining so I’m with you there, and it’s fun to go through the break in process and all that If your spending the money but if you find a machine with 300 hours or less you can pretty much assume it’s like new so long as it wasn’t beat on or trashed. I got my bx used with 300 hours myself and you see what a great machine it’s been for me.. it came with only a belly mower and nothing else and I slowly bought and installed everything else to it including the loader. A farmer owned it while only used my bx for mowing a 6 acre field .. so I knew it couldn’t have been abused just being on lawn duty.. these are the deals you wanna find.
