I completed the install on my 2019 LX570. The unit works as advertised. This video was very helpful as far as removing panels. What the video fails to show is where to mount the two boxes. I needed to partially dismantle the HVAC ducts to find a spot for the main box, and then reassemble the duct-work after I found a place for it. And the wireless receiver box also will not fit in the location suggested. I found a spot below the A pillar behind the passenger kick panel. Most of the wires were long enough, but the USB cable could not reach back to the center console from that location. I tucked the wireless antenna behind the upper dash panel on the passenger side -- the location suggested for the wireless box. Other than the need to improvise for the hardware mounting locations, the install went smoothly. I have one tip that wasn't covered in the video: at one point during removal of the interior panels you need to loosen the bezel around the instrument cluster. To facilitate that, you should have the steering wheel in the lowest position. But if you have already disconnected the battery, you will need to reconnect it so that you can lower the steering wheel. On my car, when I turn off the ignition, the steering wheel parks itself in the highest position. So, the trick is to loosen the battery cable, and then put the car in accessory mode, lower the steering wheel, and then disconnect the battery -- the steering wheel will stay down.
I know the manufacturer doesn’t recommend extending the USB plug but I connected it to a flush mount USB and AUX panel to replace that one blank above the rear door open button. Did this both in my IS and LX and it works great as long as you use a high quality cable that is 1 meter or shorter.
Just installed to my LX570 (2019) It's great unit and fully recommend In my previous RX450h I had Vline and must to say that BEAT-SONIC really looks much simple than Vline -)
Nice video, thank you. Is it possible to watch Netflix or YT while the car in drive mode ( car is in motion)? Also rear seat displays can watch same time with main display?
Thank you! Carplay won’t allow video playback. But smartphone mirroring will and you can watch while in motion and display in rear seats as well. Product link: www.beatsonicusa.com/if04ep.html/
Yes all the cameras will show how you have it set even when you’re in carplay screen. If you have the auto turn on feature, that will also work as well
Thank you for the quick reply! I actually had a loose GVIF (blue) connector in the back of the screen. I haven’t had much time to mess with it but so far I love it! I was so sad at not having CarPlay after trading in my 2020RX and now that’s no problem! If you’re reading this and on the fence about it, get off the fence and buy this unit. It’s awesome and the install is not rocket science. The video pretty much lays it all out for you!
Just installed following this video and it was perfect. I like the flexibility with carplay to switch between the lx factory Bluetooth audio OR car play. At first listen with Android auto, there seems to be a pretty big difference between sound quality with some music compared to factory bluetooth. Is there an easy way to switch back and forth audio outputs on the phone with Android auto similar to car play? Or even better yet, is there a way to keep the audio coming through bluetooth while allowing android auto to display maps, etc?
Please check your audio/EQ settings on the music app that you are using on your phone. On Android phones, you may make independent adjustments on each music app which will alter the quality of sound in the vehicle while using Android Auto
@@BeatSonicUS I'll give it a go, in this instance it was Spotify. Is there any option regarding my question though? With the mark Levinson sound system, everything is tuned perfectly to the factory Bluetooth. I would like to at least be able to easily move back to it for specific scenarios.
I'm in the same boat, and it does bug me at times the two inputs 'fight' for each other. In factory CarPlay systems there's no worry about CarPlay 'taking' the input. I have an aftermarket unit in my IS350 that works PERFECTLY according to your use case. I don't use the wireless option, I plug in with a wire, and do not allow CarPlay to be used wirelessly. On this one setup, there is no CarPlay audio option, only the factory Bluetooth. Calls and Siri use bluetooth, but there's no fighting between bluetooth and CarPlay. I'm sure this is by accident, and if I ever re-pair the phone this function will break, but maybe give this a try if you don't mind using a wire. I do this because to my knowledge there's no good way to choose which phone hooks up to the aftermarket CarPlay unit, and so when the spouse drives it defaults to her wireless CarPlay, but if I want to use it I plug in BEFORE starting the car. I have been unable to reproduce this function on my LX, although I allow Wireless CarPlay there, so the inputs 'fight' each other, sometimes if Bluetooth 'wins' CarPlay will steal the focus when you use Siri or start playing music through the Music app. My 'least annoyance' method is to use the factory Sirius XM for music and only use CarPlay for maps, but that means $30 a month for Sirius on the cheapo music plan. This way the music pauses on its own when a call comes through and I can use the rest of Lexus' factory audio and just the CarPlay overlay for navigation.
@philsteinert1000 I had the same issue with Spotify on Android Auto vs the onboard Spotify app that is native to my truck's infotainment system. The sound quality of the android auto Spotify was seriously degraded , so I did some digging into the settings menu and set the streaming quality to High, and also disabled the normalize volume setting. I'm sure disabling the normalize volume setting is what did the trick because Spotify through android auto now sounds awesome. Hope this helps, and considering this is an older post, you've probably resolved this issue by now.
Installed ZZ2 and it has been a NIGHTMARE. Had it is installed and it is a NIGHTMARE. Disconnects constantly. Get duplicate routse with CarPlay and Lexus navigation. Also, ZZ2 claims the USB which connects to phone does NOT supply enough power to consistently charge the Iphone. If you want to SCREW UP YOUR CAR.....GO FOR IT!!!! Taking it out!!!!! All navigation, radio and AC is integrated!!!! I lost my mind for having it installed and cannot wait until I get it out!!!!! If you want CarPlay....put iPad on your dashboard and ride while your AC continues to work!!!!!!

@@BeatSonicUSIf I have the LGVIF-CB2W for my Lexus LX will the AirPlay module work with it?
How much for all this? Parts and labor? I have a 2020 LX570. Thanks. I like you to work on my car. You are so good at what you do.
Please email us at info@beatsonicusa.com to schedule an appointment for installation, or find an authorized installer near you.
How does this impact the parking and backup camera? If you are in wireless CarPlay and go into reverse will the cameras come on?

Hi! Do front, rear & 360 cameras still come on AUTOMATICALLY when parking after this installed like they do with the OEM infotainment?
Yes the 360 cameras still come on automatically just like your factory spec.
@@BeatSonicUS Thanks. I placed an order yesterday. Do you have reliable installers in Austin, TX?
I see that the antenna component has its own adhesive tape. Where did you actually adhere the antenna? I didn't notice that in the video.
I believe we tucked it in under the panel between the carpet and center console
I have been LX 570 how do I get Apple CarPlay an android auto? I have a 2021.

Easier than you think and won’t be as evasive as a facelift
