I have a surface book 2 that I have installed Linux mint on, I had to configure a custom kernel to get everything working. Although the tinny sound quality was totally driving me crazy. This tutorial saved me! So thank you for that. My only question is how do I set this as a default so I don’t have to go to my sound settings? Just add “qpaeq” to run with my startup programs? Which desktop environment are you using? Usually you can open your file manager as root in most desktop environment by typing 'sudo' into the terminal followed by your password when asked.

Life saver for Linux sound combined with pulse audio volume control set for main volume to 130%. The sound betters Windows sound.

Yeah, I don't smother my audio with compression and crank it to sound like a 70s radio host. Turn it up or watch something else.
