Now it's even worse. I ride a specialized series bicycle, a bus pass, and I Uber if I need to be somewhere fast. I've never asked anyone for a ride but people are starting to look down on me for not owning a vehicle. This lady I was interested in thought I didn't drive because I owed child support, i just didn't know how, or if I was a felon. I even took a picture of my driver license 🪪 just to prove myself. There were no parts to repair it because of the pandemic. One mechanic told me it just wasn't worth fixing or replacing a CVT transmission. It also shows that the lady who I showed my driver's license to probably is financially illiterate. I've gone to a few dealerships and turned around. There isn't anyone to greet you. I had to knock on the dealer's door 😂. Before you couldn't drive by a dealership without getting ambushed by a salesman. I swear going to a dealership is stranger than ever. If you do find one the people want a way too much for them. For the most part people selling cars seem greedy and think their cars are worth more than they really are, that is why I find your videos so refreshing Thank You

Taxes, health care, food is all up. Less money to spend on a car. I think (and hope) the average consumer is realizing that cars are too high and that money can be spent elsewhere. Prices need to go down, not just interest rates.

do people every sabotage cars to make sure other people do not bid on them. Like unplug connectors, "create" fluid leaks, disconnect batteries to make all the codes come on? @stevenj421 Місяць тому

Yes ,And it happens at every single auto auction 'I've been too. last week some jerk cut the wire off the Turbo to the sensor. I tested before with my Diagnostic tool before the jerk sabotaged the vehicle. Then another person came by the next day before auction and cut some vacuum tube off. Not only do you get banned but you can go to Jail, its a 4th degree felony. I never seen anybody do the Flood Line stuff you talk about. I see Cut wires, Sensors, etc, anything that will throw a code that don't disable the vehicle completely, because if the vehicle can't start and get in the selling lane it wont be sold that day. If by chance some unknown person disabled the vehicle or removed the key ( stole it- and does happen sometimes. ) the auctioneer will have to put their own cash for the repair so they can sell it for the consigner. when repaired the auctioneer will add a (Key Fee ) or Repair Fee to the final sold bid price. I can't believe people still try this stuff, there just not that intelligent, and I've seen it all. The best thing you can do is get to the action preview the minute the doors are open. Test everything your going to bid on. Rule # 1 Don't bid on anything you cannot test first.

I haven't owned a vehicle in over 3 years because of the inflation after my transmission went out on my Nissan. But it's getting to the point where in Texas I'm being discriminated against for not owning a vehicle. 😂. I was accused of trespassing by a Karen at a storage unit because I didn't owe a vehicle. I was placing my bicycle in the storage unit. The property manager had to tell Karen to leave me alone. I was interested in a city employee. She asked me if I knew how to drive since most people on the bus don't know how. WTF!! I even sent her a copy of my driver license 🪪. So socially this vehicle inflation is screwing me socially.

Scratches, stains, minor dents and scrapes, they didn't bother with fixing. The place was called 'Rent-A-Wreck'.
They were less than half the price of Hertz and the other big dealers. Which ment 3-4 privates could afford to spend some time ripping around the countryside in a vehicle nobody worried about.

Laughing at the fact that in 2020 a ford dealer tried to make me pay $37k on an XL ranger that was supposed to be $29k MSRP because the “chip shortage” was going to be an 8 year issue! I then tried to buy a 2022 ranger at a different dealer 2 years later towards the beginning of 2023 and I was told that the mark ups would be a forever thing because of the “chip shortage” and market demand, and they mentioned that people from out of state had driven all the way to their ford dealership to buy a raptor and tried to make me reason with that purchase to hopefully give in but I didn’t because why would I pay $5k markup on a basic truck without upgrades. Now in 2024 what dealerships began doing is adding “nitrogen” to the tires for $300-500, adding every Goofy accessory available like spare tire for under the truck, an overpriced bed tonneau cover, overpriced fender flares, over priced decal stickers that look cringeworthy. Yea dealerships like that did it to themselves.

The problem is there is allot of junk at these auto auctions now. The prices you are tracking are for more or less low quality cars. there is few that might be ok, but most of the lane auction sales are low quality. The last 2 years are nothing but low quality high mileage cars that need paint jobs or other major work. The pre sales at Manheim are where your better cars end up . lease returns , rental returns etc, new dealership trade-ins . The price is preset at sales like that, they are not auctioned off. Manheim never put that sales info out that i know of , only the lane sales. Your missing a big gap in pricing but your on the right track.

Bro, what is REALLY happening is manufactures have required more inventory purchases from their dealerships. They attached temporary incentives and free flooring for a couple months. Dealerships are currently overstocked. Those rebates, incentives, and most importantly free flooring has ran out. Dealerships are not pricing their inventory at a loss. They can’t. Flooring banks are now withdrawing from overstocked dealerships and will not accept any new inventory for them. Those dealerships whose credit is no longer fluid are either closing or finding another dealership to purchase their inventory and closing. The interest on overpriced vehicles on the lots are crushing the industry.
We will not see car prices plummet until the bank owned inventories are auctioned off. We are two years away from seeing that or longer. We will see thousands of 2-3 year old “new old stock cars” sitting on lots with no factory warranty’s for sale at pre-covid prices. Bet on it.
Dealerships are closing at rapid rates.
