If you start with uncertainty, you’ll end up with certainty. Do whatever feels right in your heart. It’s actually insightful to be in an indecisive state as clarity comes from ambiguity. Keep going!
I am SO HAPPY you made this video. I'm a big fan of this channel but always wished you talked more because your voice is so relaxing. You seem like a really kind guy with a good head on your shoulders. Remember, you're young and you have time to figure out what you want in life. I didn't realize I wanted to be an ethnomusicologist until pretty late in the game, but through it, I get to explore culture and music, which are my two main passions. I meandered from career idea to career idea, and even now am thinking of going into addictions counseling. I know college can be expensive, but don't be afraid to try out taking some courses at a community college if you think it could lead to something or if you just enjoy the topic. What gives me purpose is the fact that as a human being, I have it 100% in my ability to make other peoples' days better. I honestly feel the most purpose when I'm volunteering and meeting other volunteers who are happy to share their story with me. I'm so happy I discovered your channel because you seem so genuine and I LOVE your voice. I don't really listen to male ASMRtists but I randomly clicked on one of your videos one day and it was amazing! Maybe channel some of your love of theater into the channel (haha) and help it grow by branching out into some roleplays? It doesn't have to be anything too complicated. I feel like people even prefer the simpler videos. I think you'd definitely get tons of new subscribers through roleplays! As a lifelong musician who has played in symphonies to garages, don't let the challenges of being a musician stop you from having musicality in your life. Even if you're just noodling around on piano in your free time, it's worth it. Music expands our minds, like just think about how crazy that ripples in the air can bring us to tears or make us smile. Like I said, you're young. Even if you weren't, as long as there is still breath in your lungs, you still have time to find what makes you happy. Finding who you are is a lifelong process and your college major isn't the end-all-be-all. Good luck!
Thanks for taking the time to share this! I'll definitely take a look into doing some roleplays. I really like what you said about being able to make someone's day better no matter what career I do, I'm going to remember that for the future 👍
My brother always talks about there being basically two kinds of people: those who pursue a career to make as much money as possible to afford the things they want to do outside of work, and those who pursue a career in a field that they find personally satisfying, regardless of how much they earn. (The second group can't imagine doing anything other than the work they have chosen.) It's entirely up to you whether you pursue the one path or the other. Also, keep in mind that sometimes you can take courses and even earn a degree in something you enjoy, but at the same time prepare yourself for the option of something you could do (such as business) in the meantime. I was a creative writing major in college, but I prepared to become a college teacher so I had a way to earn a living while I wrote the things I wanted to write. In the end, it turned out that I couldn't imagine ever doing any other work than teaching. 🙂
Don't feel you're alone on these different topics, Roy! I relate so much to this. I love music, art, acting in theater, and journaling about their progress as well, so when I'm alone for extended periods of time, I use that time to focus on progressing some of those goals. Your videos always help me to focus on art so thank you! I think it's really cool how open and honest you are; you've been an encouragement to me through that! Even if the goals you're really wanting seem a long ways off, don't worry! Keep going and don't worry about what others may think. You got this! One of the things that keeps me going on my artistic journey is the fact of enjoying the creative process itself, not popularity or numbers, which I think are fleeting. Hopefully that makes sense lol I wanted to try and explain a little for each of things you asked, I hope that's helpful! :)
Look at it this way, don't chase money or greatness as defined by others. Find your niche/craft you excel at in life and greatness will likely come with time. Then the money will find you because you have talent.
I'm struggling with the same thing, I really envy the people that just know what they want in life. The good thing is you can always go back to school to learn something else but, you're definitely not alone. Everything you said resonated with where I'm at as well. Tbh the feeling evokes so much anxiety.
I like your videos, including the ones where you get philosophical. You're definitely not alone in wondering where all of your interests and pursuits will lead.
I don’t know about ripping anyone off. You definitely have a unique style. You’re currently my go to channel and I’ve been watching ASMR for like 10 years 😇 Also about the one channel you mentioned you feel like you’re copying - personally I don’t like that channel all that much but I love yours sooo… ☺️
U said u like music right you can produce mysic like making musical covers for songs that u like and ive seen some asmrtists do podcasts asmr version and vlogs with asmr voiceover. W video btw
3:00 I think it’s looking at all your job role options and finding a job role with your degree you want to work in everyday choosing from the best options you have with your degree and work towards that daily lifestyle goal. Once you’ve got your daily lifestyle routine with all the daily elements you want in your life (eg. work, hobbies, family, friends, etc), I think you’ll find fulfilment there. All other career options like ASMR channel or acting or anything else outside of your job can be added in once you find substantial momentum or opportunities in these things which you have the ability to do any of these things but they take time and opportunities that are hard to predict when they’ll be successful and how successful. Another thing, you might be a lot happier doing an okay job where you mainly enjoy your daily lifestyle and keep the musical theatre or ASMR as a hobby. Because once it’s your job, the spark of enjoyment may disappear. Just my perspectives, i just want to help even if it’s a little. I wish you happiness, fulfilment and peace of mind. The sooner the better 🙂
You should do a “get to know me ASMR” where you share a bit about yourself with related triggers - like the W magazine interviews almost but for yourself lol
I so prefer your ASMR vids using low voice, rather than whispering. You voice is very relaxing and seems that whisper ASMRtists are a dime a dozen these days. Great vid.
I hate my job. Working in an office sucks. I’d say go for what you’re passionate about. And if don’t know what that is you should travel the country and Europe and meet people and you will find what lights your fire 🔥 And finish school too!! 😊❤
Sharing your life means a lot to us subscribers at least me, I was the same uncertain about my life and myself in the third year// just allow yourself to relax and to feel about things you do in life maybe give yourself more time, it works out naturally I believe
This is like the fourth time I'm trying to finish this video without sleeping but I have to say I'm 21 and it's my last year on uni I thought everyone has figured out what they want and I was just so behind knowing that others struggle with this too makes me feel like we are all doing our best with where we are in life ❤ I'm sure ur gonna be okay and will do things you like ❤ thanks for the awesome video as always ❤❤❤
I dont think you're ripping patrick off at all. I think you both do asmr effortlessly and in the best kind of way. You both put me to sleep soooo fast.
This is in no way mediocre. This is so awesome and relaxing. 😊 From the moment I started listening ans watching, I already feel so relaxed. Don't be to hard on yourself either. 😊
It sounds like you're an extrovert. you get your batteries charge with social interaction/friends. I'm the opposite. i can only recharge when im alone. its my peace time.
I have the exact same dilemma as you right now, even the subjects are basically the same 😭 it really is hard because of the uncertainty of what will actually happen, you never know with whatever path you take what it leads to in the future. if we knew what would be best suitable people would pursue their talents so much more, which is why trying everything out is soo important, and especially if we are passionate about it. it leads to great things in the end indeed
Have you considered broadcast journalism? I’m in that field for college rn and I’ve heard stories of how people who are good at theater are great at being on camera, plus you’ll be making a difference, and it’s practical
Hi handsome guy😊😊You are so beautiful ❤❤❤You are an artist who designs happiness. I am truly grateful to you. I will continue to support you forever. Stay healthy. I love you~♡♡♡ respect you. Fighting
when ive watched ur vids ive never compared you to anyone. since you said it though i can see similarities, but youre still very much your own person making content indicative to you.
Fell asleep to your videos again man lol gotta stop doing that you keep showing up in my dreams but in this realm you have 3 giant freckles on each side of your face like in the cartoons lol I love cartoons
Hi Roy, I never really comment but I wanted to share my perspective and hopefully it’ll help you in some way. As morbid as it may sound we all die and our time on this earth is never fully set in stone, I say all that to say that life is short and sure ideally you’d want to get a well paying job and be successful and get all these degrees but eventually you’ll most likely burn out or you’ll just become a shadow in your own life. To live is to experience, if you’re not doing the things that make you happy and that bring you joy then are you truly living? Or are you just existing, working towards someone else’s goals? I’m not telling you what you should or shouldn’t do but I’m 19 and I’m also at the stage of my life where I had to ask myself if I were to not be on this earth anymore in 5 years (or less because literally anything could happen) what would I want to leave behind? What will I be sad that I missed out on? So I think you should follow your dreams and chase happiness because the success will come, your love for whatever your doing will show and people will pick up on that and just like you built this channel from nothing you can do anything you set your mind to, you are capable of great things. Sure we subscribe to you and like your videos and help boost engagement and stuff but you dedicate time and energy into making these videos to help us relax not to mention the consistencyyy. You’re already incredible Roy AS YOU ARE, don’t let fear of failure or judgment stop you from shining. Much love!💛 -Zenó

Mic scratching and watch scratching at the end was amaaaaazingggg.

Are you a drummer?
Yeah I played bass and quints in marching band in high school, and I can kinda play the drumset
@@rlasmrofficial dang I play quints rn. (I call em quads or tenors)
I never know what to call them lol
Too many "like" 😜 but overall FANTASTIC video. So simple and yet so effective, this is what ASMR is all about.
Wow I'm early!
maybe u should be a therapist
Okay I mean this in no harmful way but I think you’ve said like an unhealthy amount of times in this video
