I’m getting ready to order a 23 5500 cab chassis will be adding a HIAB knuckle crane from my current 2008 F-550 truck that has a left side PTO and pump. Looks like I can order the Ram with Left or Right side but the right seems to be more common. ? I know I’ll probably need a different PTO and Pump regardless just didn’t want to order the wrong side if there’s a better option.
Right side is the primary side and takes more and larger pumps. Left side PTO on 4x4 is very complicated and requires an aftermarket transfer case from Marco Equipment.
I need help with my 2019 PTO installation. Looks as though the Brown VSIM connector is different on the 2019.
The 2019 and later trucks no longer have the OR/BR wire on the brown connector. You can just igore it
Hope you can help with a problem I am having with my 2018 ram 5500 The Muncie PTO is set up to only be engage when in park shuts off when breaks are applied so what happen is the idle came down but PTO did not shut off which burnt up the PTO . So I had the pto rebuild put it back together and still have the same problem when I shut it off buy the switch or by the brakes idles down but pto stays engaged Please Help
Either someone has connected the PTO wiring incorrectly or you have a bad hot shift solenoid.
Have a issue. When PTO is engaged light blinks and rev's up but then shuts down after a few seconds.. light was always steady before this issue. 2014 Dodge ram 5500 Cummins 6.7..
I have the same problem in my 2016 ram 5500 rollback… what was the cause ?

2013 through 2016 trucks had an issue where the PTO would shut off in 5 seconds this was due to a recall done by the dealer wrong. If it is 30 seconds, the OR/br wire lost its ground.

You may know pto's but do you know ignition modules or win modules they are a problem with Fiat Chrysler Ram products mine has been in the garage for 7 days now. There is a company that just repairs win modules from Fiat Chrysler Ram products. Let's hope your not tow your camper and it goes out. You will be Sol .
PTO means it takes off power from the engine. I think it should be something more like Auxiliary Driveline Power Harness or something, but PTO doesn't really describe what it's function is.
It does if ya farmed, we bypassed a useless part that gives out all the time.
The silinoids go out and of course wiring harnesses breakdown.
Just think of PTO like you do a tracker with a mower attached and going. What does the PTO do then?
@@joesettling1545 Power Transfer Option would be a little more understandable than Power Take Off.
